Live at Ronnie Scotts, 1969 From the BBC documentary “Sarah Vaughan at the BBC” Not sure why the title in the video says “July 1971” as this concert took place in October of 1969 at Ronnie Scott’s club on Frith Street in Soho, London as stated by then 18 year old British photographer Alan Messer who was in attendance at this concert. Sarah Vaughan’s Vocal Range (Bb2-Eb6)
Просмотров 2 тыс.10 месяцев назад
The full vocal range of Sarah Lois Vaughan, one of the greatest voices in history. I decided to revise my past vocal range videos using a variety of new clips & old clips and just make one long video as opposed to separating each part by register. You know I had to do something special for Sarah’s upcoming 100th birthday! I have one more long overdue video that will be uploaded on her birthday ...

... and the video of her performing this in Paris 1969, too!
Ellla is pitchy and raspy, especially when striving for the highest and lowest notes. Sarah has control and a measurably accurate and pure pitch. I wish this channel would do an episode on how well and wide an interval these ladies can sings--with elegance.
The rhythmic displacement and phrasing, the emotion, chromatic embellishment, the breath control and tone without ever losing the lyrical center….Absolutely Masterful !!!!🎤🎤Vocalists….this is real craft 🔥🔥
THANK GOD SARAH'S STILL HERE WITH US. MY LIFE WOULD BE SO EMPTY WITHOUT HER.

Sarah gives me chills, such a unique voice... Amazing ❤
can you imagine being the accompanist?!😮
We know Sarah can scat but Jack ......wow great stuff .
Wow two great ones sing a magnificent popular song.
mezzo soprano?
❤
Sinatra, Jack Jones, Sassy-the best treatments of this classic.
None of the other girls can approach this!😮
One of the bests!!
The LP version is simply flawless
This is how a 'true' jazz singer handles it! 😊
angelic, celestial, eternal, heavenly, holy, mystical, religious, sacred, spiritual, supernatural, transcendent, wonderful and oh so divine
👌😊🌍👼 💡❤️ x
... you left one out!
Sublime! ❤
She pokes fun at the song without disrespecting it at the same time. Genius, really.
QUANDO SI DICE.. QUALCOSA DI CELESTIALE..
I would love to have the instrumental
Used to sneak into “Concerts by the Sea” and watch her and Carmen McRae sing in the 70s. That voice was just amazing. Unbelievable.
Two of the greatest singers of Jazz and the Great American Songbook teaming up. What a treat.
This is sooo refreshing. Both of these women are so beautiful and their voices are amazing ❤
The best singer ever!
Love her! Im paying tribute to Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald show live and couldn't be more exited! ❤❤

No black people in the audience. I wonder if she helds back or did her best because it was televised. Show 'em what she's got.
Everything but this…❤️🔥
The crazy part is about a lot of the jazz singers. They’re all closely connected that I actually thought like I never thought I would see a mashup like this between Cleo and Sarah I found them around the same time but was into 60s as a Gen Z I wish we could Bring this back
How lovely❤
She did a better version of this with Tony Bennett

Love it! ❤❤❤
Mmmmm. There could have been time constraints on this. I'm not certain she 'forgot' th lyrics like some of you were thinking. She might've. But she's such a stellar performer that that thought didn't even cross my mind as I watched. This was no doubt only part of a soire that they've intentially recorded. Or at least here & there. Th audio sounds, actually, on th great side-of-the-fence. I'm not getting what some of you are getting. I found myself hoping that th photographers were getting some of her great head shots, and I wondered if some good diamonds on her neck would have contributed. Great attire! One commenter wondered if it was Burt Bacharack at .49. Iiii-don't-think-sooo. I could be wrong on that, though. Sharp eyes on your part. Someone let me know as soon as you can confirm me wrong on that. We want it to be Burt! Happy listening, Everybody.
You forget to breath listening to this
Absolutely fantastic great voices ❤❤❤❤
Listening to this phenomenal lady makes me feel less lonely, what talent she had. 🙂❤
This is so stupid. Two genius singers.
She's not singing, it's a whole musical experience, every single time!
Sarah seemed to ALWAYS find the most beautiful melodies from all sources! Broadway, standards, bossa nova, avant garde, French, current pop tunes, just everything!
this is so beautiful
Wonderful and WOW ❤ Sassy Sarah and Sammy 💖!!!
Extraordinarias. Maravillosas.
My God, didn't know they sang together, both amazing Jazz singer of all time.
It appears that an album of her 'lost' Berlin concert is now available - this song is on it as well. Fantastic.
@@oldbeatpete this song is on that album?
