So Johhny, Raiden, Smoke, Reptile, Kung Lao, Shang Tsung, Kitana, Tanya, Li Mei, Kenshi, Baraka, Geras, Ashrah, Mileena and Scorpion seem to be the same ones from the story.
Liu Kang, Rain, Nitara, Sindel, Shao, Reiko and Havik are definetely alternate version. Sub-Zero also seems to be, though his costume is very similar.
Shame everyone isn't an alt version cause Rain and Reiko look sick as hell. And it would make Liu Kang's line "May we meet again" less awkward.
I have a theory, What if Union of lights skins are the good ones and the Order of darkness skins are the evil ones, and since Rain, Nitara, Shao, Reiko and Havic are evil, they have their Union of lights skins so that they are good and all of Damashi’s [Evil Shang Tsung] clones are in their Order of Darkness skins. Idk why Liu Kang and Sindel are in their Union of lights skins.
The fanfiction possibilities are ENDLESS!!!

I would choose Shao, Reiko, Subzero, Rain and Havik. because they come with alternate timeline (good) versions wearing different costumes, while all others are same ones as before

I wonder if you could choose any DLC fighters. When they become available, obviously.
There are three vacant spots when you Choose Your Final Warrior, so it’d be silly to rule it out. Whether WB/NRS are still developing these fighters or have them “in the can” for when their time is right is anyone’s guess.

I like what they were going for here, letting you choose the final Kombatant for the final battle.
I just wish some of the endings were a little better.
I think Raiden is the canon choice to make here... he is Liu Kang's champion anyway so this chapter fits him the best
Then why does Liu Kang said "you must return to your timeline" and "may we one day we meet again" like (Raiden) wasn't from his timeline?

@@sansch18because 1. It’s a line he says to all fighters regardless
2. The Armageddon happens in Titan Shang Tsung’s timeline, so Liu Kang telling his fighters to return still makes sense
Its the best choice by far from a plot perspective, since the story starts with this timeline's Raiden, and it recreates the "deadly alliance" showdown.
Worst choice from a plot perspective is... Any of the alternate universe characters. Cool as they are, imagine watching a movie and at the very last battle, they grab an alternate universe version of a character thats actively on the villain's side and gave them the final showdown.
How in God's name would they not have Sonya Blade as a main character and she's one of the original 🤔

@@isaackinne1971 I think my guy was implying the original charyof the game you know the first Mortal Kombat with 7 characters who were Johnny, Kano, subzero, Sonya,raiden, Liu kang and scorpion.
