True, but in terms of nostalgia and how many people still talk about it as an underrated console (and rightfully so), the Gamecube won in the long run. Sales figures aren't everything. The Turbografx flopped in the US but is now seen as one of the best consoles ever.
Its awesome to see someone who still appreciates LAN parties on the original Xbox. I actually loved “The Duke”. It was so comfortable for RalliSport Challenge and other racing games, and I don't have big hands now and they were smaller back then!
I still have a Xbox with a nice little softmod on it to play emulators and backup games, it was indeed one of the best consoles and with pretty much my entire audio CD collection installed to the HDD, the blocks never decreased.
the xbox audio was produced by the soundstorm chipset ( a true 5.1 on the fly encoder, used with the nvidia nforce chipset for 462 pin amd athlon boards ) aka MCP-T
nope, it's all done in software now. The soundstorm chipset was the only consumer level product that could take 2 channel audio (music, dolby surround encoded stereo etc) and recreate an acurate 6 channel output, 5 for the speakers and 1 for the sub, All in hardware. Development stopped after this and drivers were never written past XP - it's how the xbox was able to do 5.1 from stereo sources too.
Im surprised Joe didn't mention that the Warriors video game is based on the 1979 movie of the same name. With all the same actors reprising there roles almost 30 years later. Warriors Come Out and Play-Ya.
One thing I rarely hear mentioned about the XBox Classic is the 9ft cord for the controllers. Seeing this show's gags about the Turbografix-16 controller cords, I'm surprised it didn't come up in this episode.
The OG Xbox had a lot of forward thinking design choices. The custom soundtrack feature still impresses me. A lot of sports and racing games utilized it so you could use imported music instead of the songs from the game soundtrack, but it allowed for custom radio stations in the GTA games just like on PC, a feature that sadly never came back for console GTA games.
NG is both the best slasher I even played and the best Xbox game (at lest IMO). There are many games I liked that weren't covered and I am not that much surprised (anyone played Otogi or Phantom Dust?), but lack of NG feels odd.
I remember one Christmas when i traded my PS2 in with about 20 games and bought the newly released crystal Xbox console with halo, ninja gaiden and pgr. Awesome
I like that you guys started with Panzer Dragoon Orta, one of my favourite ever original Xbox games! Kinda surprised you didn't feature Outrun 2 though, that was basically the entire reason I bought an Xbox in the first place. Although Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast came out on a lot of other systems a bit later, Outrun 2 remains an Xbox exclusive and has got content not featured in any of the C2C versions (namely the bonus courses made up of all the tracks from Daytona USA 2 and Scud Race and the original 1986 Outrun as a bonus unlockable).
Sonic Ace 24 I know, but I still think a small mention wouldn't have gone amiss here, even if just to say 'Hey, check out this totally rad video we already made all about Outrun that covers it'. I'm just being pedantic :)
Speaking of though... *cough shameless self promotion time* I myself have made a video looking back at Outrun's 30 year history, Sonic Ace 24 can confirm it's radness. Why not head over to my channel and check it out? *cough shameless self promotion ends*
I remember my jaw dropping when I played "Blood Wake" back in the day - the wave effects looked absolutely incredible at the time - pretty fun arcade-like gameplay too. Dead or Alive 3 also graphically blew away any fighting game on the competing consoles at the time - the character models, cloth effects etc. were incredible.
I started playing that one once. I found it distracting that it takes place I don't know how many thousands of years before the original trilogy yet they have all of the same technology and abilities. Like nothing had changed in a thousand years.
I can see your point, I still play it this day... Came out in 2003-2004, one of the better SW games, lol... Oh well, thanks for the response and keep up the good work
Well the Jedi were always being wiped out and then the Sith vice versa so it would be like constant dark ages not allowing technology to progress to rapidly. But in KOTOR they do use Viroswords a ton which could be a view into a more primitive technology.
We all just connect to different titles. I highly dislike all zelda titles with only one exception. Along with metroid. But mad respect if thats your shit!!
Happy to see Spikeout get some love finally. The atrocious voice acting is what made me buy the game awhile ago, I saw the cutscenes and kept laughing at them and any kind of beat em up automatically gets a nod from me.
Yes! But I don't get that Game Sack doesn't mention it's four player coop. That aspect really sold me on this game. I enjoyed playing it with my little brother. I guess some people just don't care if a game can be played with two players.
I remember the good old days, getting the ps2 when it was released & after that the OG Xbox, it was such a great time to be a kid! So many great games! Will never forget.
I know a friend of mine dewise did i was amaze and had no console since a broke ps1 besides getting a ps2 few years just a few years i got an xbox 360 then a ps3 was amazing
You can actually still get the patch that fixed the hud issue with widescreen in Halo 2. It was bundled along with the 2nd and 3rd updates on the multiplayer map pack disc.
Never had an Xbox - looking back though there was a LOT of green and brown in those games - it was really noticeable for me coming off the back of the Dreamcast. Perhaps it was a requirement in western made games? Good vid, you showed a few games I'd never seen before and the ending made me laugh...
actually 400,000 sold in Japan( the 2 million is for all of Asia and most of those numbers are from Australia and N.Z) AWESOME EPISODE, I remember playing with my brother back in the day and now we barely see each other since we literally live in different continents!!!
+The Philosophating Phrog The Xbox was THE shit for Star Wars games anyways. Kotor, Jedi Knight, Battlefront... Now all we got is SWTOR the MMO grind and walk fest, and Call of "Battlefront." :(

I was 20 years old when the OG Xbox first came out. When I was deciding between it and the PS2 I chose the Xbox mainly because it had an internal hard drive which saved me money on memory cards. I remember being amazed how huge it was and how amazingly bright the graphics were. And the original Duke controller really didn’t bother me probably because I got descent sized hands. Eventually I did get a PS2 and while I had fun with it looking back I had more fun with the Xbox.
While Sony keeps it simple with simply numbering there systems. And Nintendo just comes up with new names for there system. Microsoft hasn't figured out how to count to 3 yet or 10. Really the Xbox One sould have been the Xbox 720. I could at least feel like im relieving Atari Glory days.
35:00 This is inaccurate. You CAN obtain the patch without Xbox Live. The patch is included in the physical "Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack", along with a few other online patches as well as, obviously, multiplayer maps. The pack is also compatible with 360, and it can be obtained for cheap.
shoulda done a shenmue 2 refrence on the skit ....you both carry the console with you telling dave left left left ...you drop it on his foot when he gets it wrong lol
23:52 is Red Dead Revolver in "scope" aspect ratio? which is basically 32:9. its not 16:9 - if so then it would cut off stuff from the screen if you zoomed to fill the screen.
Naturally I've gotta mention Fable. I mean I think this is the 129th comment, so I'm possibly in the top 100 people to mention that game, but it was just such a fun RPG title. My friend and I rented it and it was one of the first times we ever stayed up all night glued to a game. I guess in a similar guise there's also Morrowind, which was a great game, but I didn't play it as much. And while Japan exclusive, I have to throw out Shin Megami Tensei: NINE. The last one I want to mention is a game that is just burned into my mind for some reason, Black Stone: Magic and Steel. It was sort of like if Gauntlet was made by Japan. I remember it being a decent on couch co-op title.
Great video! The intro to Halo was freaking hilarious. I was one of the people who got this console on day 1 and even pre-ordered Halo. The coop mode in the first Halo was pretty awesome, and it had a few other great games like Mortal Kombat Deception/Deadly Alliance...but for some reason I got bored with it when I got my new pc and kept going back to my pc at the time for the FPS games that were coming out. The console was very impressive for it's time, but I was upset that a DVD controller was required to play the DVD's. I ended up trading it all in to upgrade my pc. Enclave was another amazing title.
Fable, KOTOR, JSRF, Project Gotham 2, Halo, DOA3, great exclusives not to mention the best version of multi plats games. I feel like Microsoft is currently severely lacking in unique titles and just feels like they've given up at this point and focusing more on online MP stuff.
I think the thing with the XBOX is that it did everything that everyone else was doing but it did it way better. The landscape at the time was the PS2 and the dreamcast. The PS2 had a vast library of games but they were beginning to look outdated. The dreamcast had improved on the graphics and was trying to do next generation stuff but it was too early. Then comes the Xbox, what impress me to begin with is that the games started out fast. Damn did the system have memory built in. Before you had to buy the external memory packs and they were used up quickly, not the Xbox... shit I dont think anyone who didn't hack it even used 10% of its memory. Add to that Xbox live! Halo 2 was the killer app. Awesome episode guys.
During this time I was an undergrad student and I felt that the GameCube was marketed to kids, therefore I didn't use it, with the exception of smash brothers that I would play at my friends house. I didn't get a GameCube until 5 years ago, wish I was playing it back then. But yes I was aware of the system, however it had lesser graphics, it still used physical memory cards, and no online support.
John Gotti Jr I got it for all the Resident Evil games and Eternal Darnkess. Yes most of its games were geared towards kids, but it had a few mature games. F-Zero GX and Soul Calibur 2 were a welcome bonus.
Crimson Skies is a freakin' masterpiece!!! Love your guys show. It's one of the best on RUclips. It deserves MILLIONS of subs for just the stop-motion animation work alone!!! ....someday hopefully.
Im surprised you guys didnt mention the graphics of Riddick, It was one of the highlights of the game. even just tthe menu cube was mind blowing to me at the time.
This console was made in 2001 but had games 10x more graphically impressive than PS2. Ps2 was so overrated tbh, it was a great console But Xbox was my childhood and Gamecube.
The Xbox Original was the first console I ever bought with my own money as a kid (saving up allowance, baby sitting, mowing lawns, etc). Missing from this were Dead or Alive 3, DoA: Ultimate (which were the best versions of 1 & 2 ), Ninja Gaiden, Stubbs the Zombie, Fable, Elder Scrolls: Marrowind, Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, Project Gotham Racing, and the Splinter Cell games (Yeah, I know they weren't exclusive, but I associate the series with Xbox in the same way MGS is associated with Playstation). I was also expecting you guys to cover one of the worst and infamous games ever made that also happens to be an Xbox exclusive: Drake of the 99 Dragons.
the music direction of jet set radio future was absolutely perfect for matching the feel of the game. when the music was bumping, i never lost the sense of action and speed. I even turned off the music at one point and my enjoyment of the game suffered for it greatly. Turning the music back on instantly brought back the fun and i was hooked again. It's a rare thing to find a soundtrack that does that outside of the obvious rhythm genre, but without it JSRF would have been nothing
It was amazing playing games back in the day in 5.1, 480p, 720p/1080i and widescreen, along with having a built in hard drive. True Crime: Streets of LA was 720p.
I agree 100% there were some good exclusives but Microsoft definitely shit the bed lol. Especially with the horrible introduction and launch. I think Microsoft learned from their mistakes with current gen (series x);
Wish you guys included Out Run2 as it was an exclusive for some time and the best version of those games. Alos the arcade release of it was running on xbox hardware. I was shocked not to see it.
Huge DC fan at the time and Xbox just felt like the spiritual successor to me (the exclusive license for 12 games probably). Great system with great games and introduced the standard for console online gaming (another DC influence). Now I have go play some Stubbs the Zombie.
I never "got" Halo. I thought "Resistance; Fall of Man" and its 2 sequels told a better story. So did the "Gears of War" series. Halo has always felt generic, to me. And I have played them a lot... I own them all... but I never would've paid for them. Someone gave them to me. I mean, it's ok... but "everything"? It wasn't even a selling point of the original XBox, for me.
It's underrated because it sucks. Seriously, the original Xbox was like the Sega Master System of the 6th gen consoles. It had boring, generic, lackluster, and uninspired games that nobody wants to play (with the exception of Jet Set Radio Future (thank fuck for emulators now)), the controller was terrible. It was a fucking hamburger sized controller, and the S controller wasn't any better. They still kept that horrendous D-Pad and used those stupid ass black and white buttons as opposed to just using bumpers like the PS2 (and somewhat like the GameCube with the Z button). Then when you move the Xbox when there's a disc inside, it scratches it, and apparently Microsoft still doesn't understand that. I don't know many people who still has their original Xbox. Most people said they took it back because of how underwhelming as shit it is. I haven't met one person who took back their PS2 or GameCube. So yeah, it's underrated because it was a terrible console with terrible games. I feel sorry for anyone who grew up with only this console. I'd regret getting such a shitty console if I were any of those idiots who bought one.
@AsherLamorte rhodes What is this, 2008? "You mad bro" is old as shit, I literally forgot it existed. But no, Xbox sucks and that's the truth. People still praise GameCube and PS2 up to this day. Nobody likes Xbox anymore. lmfao.
@AsherLamorte rhodes I want you to try to defend the Xbox. If all you can spam is "you mad bro", then you know what I've said about the Xbox is the cold hard truth.
I enjoyed the Xbox. i think many of these as well as GameCube's library wouls look great on modern systems with just some upscaling on the texures. Especially games like Conker. its beautiful even now. Microsoft should really mame the Xbox One backwards compatible with the original! Xbox and with some upscaling.
No Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (the original and 2)? For shame, best diablo clone before diablo clones were even really a thing. Bioware was killing it on the Xbox with those 2 games, Kotor, and Jade Empire.
The first Xbox is definitely underappreciated It had a horribly short lifespan and even if multi-platform games were superior on it, that was a kind of shallow reason to get it if the exclusive library was weak But it wasn't really Halo 1 and 2 Amped, Project Gotham Racing Fuzion Frenzy Oddworld Munch's Oddysee and Stranger's Wrath Panzer Dragoon Orta Jet Set Radio Future Fable Jade Empire Ninja Gaiden 2004 Psychonauts Conker Live and Reloaded Mechassault Crimson Skies High Road to Revenge Knights of The Old Republic Stubbs the Zombie Chaos Theory Forza 1 Dead or Alive 3 Brute Force Breakdown Along with some quality PC ports like Far Cry and Half-Life 2 The problem was, how many of these games were well-known? Microsoft pushed the Xbox aside immediately so that the 360 would sell, Microsoft used expensive parts for the first Xbox which resulted in them losing money, but the 360, being produced cheaper, got them turning a profit Even if its first three years were solid, after that, the 360 is probably the most overrated console ever, when people say the Xbox One has no games, were they there for the 360's final years?
Joe, I had similar problems with playing Quantum Redshift and the original Fable in 480p. What I did was try to go on xbox live via a copy of madden 07, and then downloaded the latest xbox firmware from the disc.I then went to the dashboard and hit both triggers and clicked in both thumbsticks at the same time to run the dashboard in 480i, afterwards I did this again to put it back to 480p. I put my copy of Quantum Redshift in and viola, beautiful 480p,60fps, Mario Kart/F zero rip-off goodness!
+Omega Rugal And the fact it was a PC. ...which does make an interesting point. Why cant the Xbone play the Xbox games, even though they both use the same archeticture?
I love my Xbox. I have put many hours into it in the fairly short amount of time I have had it (three and a half years). One of my favorites on the system is Doom 3 Limited Collectors Edition because it has The Ultimate Doom, Doom II, and Doom 3. I am *fairly* new at collecting for the system, but I look forward to expanding upon my small collection :)

Yep, it was pretty badass. 64 realtime channels if I remember correctly.
i kept an nforce 2 chipset amd running long past the cpu's use by date purely for the 5.1 encoder to drive my home theater amps.
voltare2amstereo I also have the encoder but isn't there anything better than it on today's motherboards?
nope, it's all done in software now.
I think it was around 51. But not positive
Im surprised Joe didn't mention that the Warriors video game is based on the 1979 movie of the same name. With all the same actors reprising there roles almost 30 years later. Warriors Come Out and Play-Ya.
If it were a full review I would have bu that particular segment was getting pretty long and that was the last game I added to it.
Game Sack Well that understandable.
One thing I rarely hear mentioned about the XBox Classic is the 9ft cord for the controllers. Seeing this show's gags about the Turbografix-16 controller cords, I'm surprised it didn't come up in this episode.
I loved how long the Xbox controller cords were. It made it really good for playing on our projector.
May the channel Game Sack live forever!
7:55 not true actually, it was re-released in the "Assault on Dark Athena" ports for Xbox 360 and PS3 in HD.
Also on PC.
Ninja Gaiden Black is the best Xbox game. It's perfect.
Graphic they didnt mention a ninja Gaiden game did they?!
No but they did mention the Xbox game console.
NG is both the best slasher I even played and the best Xbox game (at lest IMO). There are many games I liked that weren't covered and I am not that much surprised (anyone played Otogi or Phantom Dust?), but lack of NG feels odd.
Ninja GAYden, amirite?
Sigma on PS3>all NG games ever period.
Burnout Revenge never gets old!
Old Liquid wait, Revenge is a great game yes, but not better than Paradise imo.
Old Liquid i agree, revenge is king.
Also Forza Motorsport
FlatOut is great too.
Strangely enough I always preferred Burnout 2. Because it didn’t let you get away with crashing into other cars
Ninja Gaiden? ;)
my game
...and Dead or Alive 3. I was really surprised they didn't show those, as they were easily two of the best (and best-looking) Xbox exclusives.
I remember one Christmas when i traded my PS2 in with about 20 games and bought the newly released crystal Xbox console with halo, ninja gaiden and pgr. Awesome
I did the exact same thing but I got the regular Xbox. Got Halo, Dead or Alive 3, and Ninja Gaiden lol
I like that you guys started with Panzer Dragoon Orta, one of my favourite ever original Xbox games! Kinda surprised you didn't feature Outrun 2 though, that was basically the entire reason I bought an Xbox in the first place. Although Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast came out on a lot of other systems a bit later, Outrun 2 remains an Xbox exclusive and has got content not featured in any of the C2C versions (namely the bonus courses made up of all the tracks from Daytona USA 2 and Scud Race and the original 1986 Outrun as a bonus unlockable).
they did an episode on outrun
Sonic Ace 24 I know, but I still think a small mention wouldn't have gone amiss here, even if just to say 'Hey, check out this totally rad video we already made all about Outrun that covers it'. I'm just being pedantic :)
Speaking of though... *cough shameless self promotion time* I myself have made a video looking back at Outrun's 30 year history, Sonic Ace 24 can confirm it's radness. Why not head over to my channel and check it out? *cough shameless self promotion ends*
MrThunderwing that outrun video you made was awesome
Sonic Ace 24 Thank you sir!
That moment when even the original xbox could do 720p 60fps and 1080i but the xbone can't
ILLUMINATUS this is so impressive and the same time is very shocking hahah
I remember my jaw dropping when I played "Blood Wake" back in the day - the wave effects looked absolutely incredible at the time - pretty fun arcade-like gameplay too. Dead or Alive 3 also graphically blew away any fighting game on the competing consoles at the time - the character models, cloth effects etc. were incredible.
@RockManLP_Radio Heh, get your mind out of the gutter, I was talking about the various graphical effects, but now that you mention it.....
Not gonna lie, the bit about the black and white buttons made me chuckle. I STILL don’t get those buttons.
What a thorough and well-presented review. I admire y’all’s passion for the Xbox/video games.
aw man... you forgot Star Wars Knights of the old republic
Oh well, thanks for the response and keep up the good work
Oh... It took ace 4000 years before the known trilogy
The original arcade game/s were sesigned by the guy who made Yakuza, so Spikeout + Shenmue = Yakuza
Good vid, you showed a few games I'd never seen before and the ending made me laugh...
actually 400,000 sold in Japan( the 2 million is for all of Asia and most of those numbers are from Australia and N.Z)
AWESOME EPISODE, I remember playing with my brother back in the day and now we barely see each other since we literally live in different continents!!!
Man...I remember being totally blown away by how good chronicles of Riddick looked back in the day
Star Wars Battlefront 2 was my go to game on the xbox! Still play it all the time
Link2ThePast95 same, I play it on pc now for the online, which I never experienced on ps2/xbox. so glad I can now ;)
speaking of star wars where is kotor
4 player fun
+The Philosophating Phrog The Xbox was THE shit for Star Wars games anyways. Kotor, Jedi Knight, Battlefront...
Now all we got is SWTOR the MMO grind and walk fest, and Call of "Battlefront." :(
Tao Fang, Gun Valkyrie, Sudeki, Otogi 1 and 2, Red Ninja, Dead To Rights 1 and 2, Max Payne 1 and 2, Doom 3, Advent Rising to name a few.
I know I asked a lot for this episode in the past, and you were nice enough to respond back to me, but thank you guys for putting this episode out and hope you two have a wonderful year
Its always good to sleep to some sweet game sack...
Hawk of Light its soothing af
Or in my case, It is always nice wake up on sundays to new Gamesack Episode.
The audio quality is really good seeing as the guys talk in even voices with no weird explosions its perfect for some sleepy time viewing :3 It's nice to know im not alone :P
HeyItsRye also night mind for me, his voice is soft as silk even if his content is creepy, i really dont mind
I'm about to go to sleep to but theses guys suck at commentating
What is a console without the games?
-The Wii U...
Eventually I did get a PS2 and while I had fun with it looking back I had more fun with the Xbox.
thank you joe and dave!!! love this in 2023
Lesser Known Games From Big Developers would be an interesting episode, I think. Please consider it!
I miss when the original Xbox was called the Xbox 1 :(
Son of Tiamat I've been using the term "Xbox classic" these days
Nowadays I just say OG Xbox
till 360 come out, it was called just "xbox"
same way till ps2 come out, ps1 was just called the "playstation"
While Sony keeps it simple with simply numbering there systems. And Nintendo just comes up with new names for there system. Microsoft hasn't figured out how to count to 3 yet or 10. Really the Xbox One sould have been the Xbox 720. I could at least feel like im relieving Atari Glory days.
Onimusha on the xbox is a must own
I don't know why but when I watch videos like this makes me want to turn my old Xbox on and play it again who else is like me lol
Steve Harper play mine every day!
I am actually playing morrowwind on Xbox right now while watching !
shane womeldorff lucky you, I don't have a og xbox 😢 and thr best game of all time MORROWIND
You're not alone.
mine never look as good as their screen grabs... what am i doing wrong?..
Had every 6th gen console and the Xbox was not only ahead of its time it was easily my favorite.
shoulda done a shenmue 2 refrence on the skit ....you both carry the console with you telling dave left left left ...you drop it on his foot when he gets it wrong lol
Xbox? More like SEXbox, am I rite!?! ;) #Giggity
.......oh dear.........
I'm sorry MetalJesus but that joke was fucking cringy.
MetalJesusRocks tsk tsk tsk CRINGE
bro not cool
You have to grab the console by its snatch ;) if you see what I mean
so freedom fighters is an alternate history Mario game?
Mario for adults
23:52 is Red Dead Revolver in "scope" aspect ratio? which is basically 32:9. its not 16:9 - if so then it would cut off stuff from the screen if you zoomed to fill the screen.
appreciate every video you guys make.....gold
Thank you for doing the video been wanting this for awhile
Dave... In halo you can use a flash light in dark areas :P
The Xbox was my first console, I'll never forget it.
Mine as well
I think the thing with the XBOX is that it did everything that everyone else was doing but it did it way better.
John Gotti Jr As if Gamecube wasn't apart of the landscape..
F-Zero GX and Soul Calibur 2 were a welcome bonus.
by 2001 DC was dead
Rudi Moreira That too.
Ninja Freaking Gaiden.
I had PS2 for most of that generation of gaming and only got an Xbox toward the end. It was a really good system. The graphics were just phenomenal.
"what is a console without games?"
The Ouya!
Nah, it's either Amiga CD32 or Philips CD-i!
Love the og xbox, its easily one of my fav consoles and feel its woefully under appreciated.
so many of these games have that "timeless" aspect to them and that makes this console very special.
The XBOX is so mighty and Powerful it doesn't need a Review
Only 163,000 subs? You guys are severely underrated.
The xbox had graphics similar if not better then the 360 launch titles in my opinion.
No that is dumb
Both OG Xbox and Xbox 360 were outstanding consoles. Xbox One is a big letdown.
I agree 100% there were some good exclusives but Microsoft definitely shit the bed lol. Especially with the horrible introduction and launch. I think Microsoft learned from their mistakes with current gen (series x);
I honestly dismissed this console back then because of the fanboys. Now I think I'll give this thing another chance.
MoonSpirit beat console ever!
A shame that sonic adventure 1 and 2 didn't got ports for xbox. It would be the automatic spiritual succesor with 2 of the most important dc games.
@@retroboy-fh1ji 2 made it to the Xbox as a multiplatform release. But that's not same as an exclusive.
Halo was everything. Really need to go back and play through the original 2 noew
OG Xbox is underrated
World 1-1 extremely underrated
The first Xbox is definitely underappreciated
It had a horribly short lifespan and even if multi-platform games were superior on it, that was a kind of shallow reason to get it if the exclusive library was weak
But it wasn't really
Halo 1 and 2
Amped, Project Gotham Racing
Fuzion Frenzy
Oddworld Munch's Oddysee and Stranger's Wrath
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Jet Set Radio Future
Fable
Jade Empire
Ninja Gaiden 2004
Psychonauts
Conker Live and Reloaded
Mechassault
Crimson Skies High Road to Revenge
Knights of The Old Republic
Stubbs the Zombie
Chaos Theory
Forza 1
Dead or Alive 3
Brute Force
Breakdown
Along with some quality PC ports like Far Cry and Half-Life 2
The problem was, how many of these games were well-known?
Microsoft pushed the Xbox aside immediately so that the 360 would sell, Microsoft used expensive parts for the first Xbox which resulted in them losing money, but the 360, being produced cheaper, got them turning a profit
Even if its first three years were solid, after that, the 360 is probably the most overrated console ever, when people say the Xbox One has no games, were they there for the 360's final years?
I was a PS2 guy at the time but now I kind of want to get an XBOX.
get dremacst too
Sonic Ace 24 I have one of those. I actually bought it way back in 2002 because the guy who sold it to me wanted to buy an XBOX.
Me too Mr. Peace
Great episode but uh... Splinter Cell??
Yeah, they missed out on so much
Yet another kickass video from my fave RUclips team!
I have watched this episode as well as the saturn and dreamcast console reviews more than a dozen times. They are just so fucking good
The reason for the weight was the power supply. Instead of having a big ass brick like with the 360, they put it in the console
and the 3.5 HDD... and 5 1/4 DVD drive
+Omega Rugal And the fact it was a PC.
...which does make an interesting point. Why cant the Xbone play the Xbox games, even though they both use the same archeticture?
RoundDuckMan
completly diferent chipset, propietary API by Nvidia... not gonna happen soon...
I didn't even know they made a Blinx II.
:OOOOOOO
They ended up making 182 games 🤪😜
dude u left out the masterpiece that is Doom 3
I love my Xbox. I have put many hours into it in the fairly short amount of time I have had it (three and a half years). One of my favorites on the system is Doom 3 Limited Collectors Edition because it has The Ultimate Doom, Doom II, and Doom 3. I am *fairly* new at collecting for the system, but I look forward to expanding upon my small collection :)
Opened up a few of them to replace that DVD drive, mostly later revisions with a Philips V/AD6011. Easy to work on as far as consoles go.
Actually there was a remake on PS3 of Escape from Butcher Bay. Also came with Dark Athena. Good games. Beat them both.
If you wanna live, get a shiv
Dark Athena was hot grabage, but The remake of Escape from Butcher Bay was great.
still worth getting the Xbox version as it feels like a difrent experience.
You should do another Fan Translations Episode ^^
this console rocks, only if you modify it, really good especially if you plug a component cable, you can play emulators in 1080i resolution.........did you just say tits?
Loved the post-credits scene :D "Let me get my back brace on"
Jet Set Radio Future was the best!
I also really liked Blinx and Splinter Cell.
