I’m curious if an Echo or the phone with the Alexa app is installed is required to be in range in or for routines to work. I just want the plugs to run the routines without having Alexa tell it what to do-or are they actually servants that don’t work without the boss? I thought a “smart” device could be programmed & let alone to run!

Once I set mine to have Alexa tell them what to do, I don't do anything else. My lights come on and go off at certain times automatically.

I just got a refund. It connected to the app without a problem. The Alexa app would not at all remember a Routine. Customer Service walked me through what I've already been doing, just not remembering the timer routine.
