    Are you always losing your crap? You might need this. The original Samsung smart tag was good, but the new Samsung SmartTag2 improves on almost everything. However, there are a few cons, see if a smart tag is right for you!

    Great video, thanks. A question.... these new SmartTag2's make an unsolicited 3 beep randomly. It frightens my 2 dogs. Our previous SmartTag+ units did not. Is there a setting I need to change to turn it off? Any suggestions?

      I have a few of these tags and have not had that issue so far- but it appears to be an issue for these smart tags. Some recommendations, take the battery out and make sure nothing inside the tag, change the battery, reset and re-pair to your phone. If none of this works then it could be defective. Hope that helps!

    Can i use this tag on my samsung a34 and track remote long locations, becouse i dont have ultra wide band on phone?

    • @techgadgets100
      @techgadgets100  11 дней назад

      Yes, Ultra wide band only helps when you are close to the tag (like less than 150 feet), it will give you more precise location and directions to the tag. If you dont have UWB then the phone will use BT to find it, more like hot and cold game, but it will still get you there. If you are close though you can make it beep to find it easier also.

      @@techgadgets100 thanks for reply, but im really confused. Can i track remote far locations on map without this UWB or i can track only signals around me in bluetooth area?

    • @paul8065
      @paul8065 8 дней назад +1

      @@Flaaatm87 yes. if tag outside your Bluetooth area, 30 ft or so, then you will get information about your tags location from other anonymous phones. The ultra wide band is only for you to get precise location when the tag is near you. So you don't need UWB to track your tag in far away location.

      It will technically give you location updates for anywhere in world, using OTHER Samsung phones. Your phone is only used when tag is within 150 feet if using ultra wide band or about 30 feet is using only Bluetooth.

      I could be wrong but I dont think you can. Why would you need that info? As far as I know, the QR code just directs you to download the Smartthings app.

      I also just bought a 4 pack and was wondering how i would know which tag goes to which QR code...when you scan the QR code on the box and the tag pairs with the cellphone it then identifies beside the Smart Tag name , the number as well...i wrote it on the box up above the spot of that particular tag....BUT....when you do use them...just edit the name to identify which tag is being used for whatever.....CONFUSING....SO....i'm just going to put a little piece of sticky tape on each tag with the number to help me to remember which is which....LOL....

      @@mariaelenaserrano8945 That works. You can also pick the tag you want on the phone and make it buzz the tag, then you will know which is which. To identify them quick you can get different colored covers for them...

      sorry for the delay. You probably already found it but just i case, go to smart tags app- devices- click on your device- then at the top click "view map"- then at bottom you can search nearby, navigate to it if you are not close, and then when you get close it will give you the option to ring it.

    So what if i put this on my dogs collar and they get stolen or run off.. will this tag be able to locate their location even if they arent near?

    • @techgadgets100
      @techgadgets100  Месяц назад +4

      Yes, the tracker just has to be near ANY samsung phone. You will get location data but it will all be anonymous. Only issue is if your dog runs off into very unpopulated area where there are no Samsung phones. You can also turn on the "lost mode" feature, so you can be alerted if someone finds your dog.

    • @techgadgets100

      @@gcea123 Yes, but I think most if not all phones have Bluetooth on. The phone it is near does not have to be paired or connected to your tag in any way though. Samsung handles all the connections anonymously.

      I shut my bluetooth off on my phone, and it still tracks it. I have the tag2 and a s24+ ( only works on s24÷ and above ) with wide band bluetooth. Seems like with bluetooth off buds or other devices don't work, but the wide band stays on, but in airplane mode, it does not work. If you don't have a phone wide ban bluetooth, don't buy the tag 2 if you can still find a tag1. With the wide band tracker it kinda works, I was probably almost 1000 feet away, and it picked the tracker up. But it does not give you a direction to where it is. It's kinda like hot potato tells if you are getting closer or farther away, and not until you get about 50 feet away, does the meter circle change. But around the house it works great, I could not find my car keys so I turned on the beeper, could hear it in the bedroom but still could not find, so I turned on find tag and I found it, I had knocked the keys of the night stang and they were between night stand and the wall. So if your phone has wide band bluetooth it's worth the extra money.

    So im not always loosing my child and certainly isnt crap,lol, talks crap, but hes not...anyways, thinking of usen this sorta like a warning buzzer type thing with it in the waterproof wrist band thing at the waterpark were going to next week. Figured if we're in same room,big room yes waterpark room, but with 100s of other ppl w theyre galaxy phones in theyre little waterproof cases in the pool on slides n stuff, and my hisband and i both have our phones the tag should ping well for us to just use to buzz our kid n let him know like when to come back to our spot in the room, or if we do loose him in there we can make it buzz so he knows we're looking for him...idk worth a try see if it works.

      @techgadgets100 they simply don't track as accurately as an AirTag. The tech in principle is good but too reliant on having Samsung users nearby at all times. If you have a dog that you need to track, get an AirTag

    • @techgadgets100
      @techgadgets100  27 дней назад +2

      @@brentwatts6130 100% right, if you have Samsung phones than get these, if you have apple phones then get air tags. You cant change this but also keep in mind if you are in a location that has more Apple phones than the airtags will work better because the tag get get more accurate data, reverse is true if you are in an area with more Samsungs. Google is launching the "find my device" 3rd parties make the tags but any android phone/ device can be used to help locate the tag. I wish it was more universal but thats what it is for now.
