The Amazing Spider-Man is a 2012 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man and sharing the title of the character's longest-running comic book series of the same title. It is the fourth theatrical Spider-Man film produced by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Entertainment, a reboot of the series following Sam Raimi's 2002-2007 Spider-Man trilogy, and the first of the two The Amazing Spider-Man films. The film was directed by Marc Webb and written by James Vanderbilt, Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves from a story by Vanderbilt, and stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker / Spider-Man alongside Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. In the film, after Parker is bitten by a genetically altered spider, he gains newfound, spider-like powers and ventures out to save the city from the machinations of the Lizard.
Development of the film began following the cancellation of Spider-Man 4 in January 2010, ending director Sam Raimi's Spider-Man film series that originally featured Tobey Maguire as the titular superhero. Columbia Pictures opted to reboot the franchise with the same production team along with Vanderbilt to stay on with writing the next Spider-Man film, while Sargent and Kloves helped with the script as well. During pre-production, the main characters were cast in 2010. New designs were introduced from the comics, such as artificial web-shooters. Using Red Digital Cinema Camera Company's RED Epic camera, principal photography started in December 2010 in Los Angeles before moving to New York City. The film entered post-production in April 2011. 3ality Technica provided 3D image processing, while Sony Pictures Imageworks handled CGI effects. This was also the final American film to be scored by James Horner and released during his lifetime, three years before his death on June 22, 2015 from an aircraft accident, as well as the penultimate film for both production designer J. Michael Riva and one of the producers Laura Ziskin, who died on June 7, 2012, and June 12, 2011, respectively. J. Michael Riva's last film as production designer was Django Unchained, released five months later and Ziskin's last film as producer was The Butler, released one year later in 2013.
Sony Pictures Entertainment built a promotional website, releasing many previews and launching a viral marketing campaign, among other moves. Tie-ins included a video game by Beenox and Activision. The film premiered on June 30, 2012, in Tokyo, and was released in the United States on July 3, ten years after the release of Spider-Man (2002), in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D formats. It received mostly positive reviews from critics, who praised Garfield's performance as Spider-Man, the chemistry between Stone and Garfield, the visual effects, and musical score, however criticism was directed towards some of the plot elements. The film was a box office success, grossing $758 million worldwide, becoming the seventh highest-grossing film of 2012. A sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, was released on May 2, 2014. Garfield and Ifans reprised their roles in the MCU film Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) which dealt with the concept of the multiverse and linked that franchise to the Raimi and Webb installments.

Andrew is my absolute favorite live action Spider-Man. I did grow up with Tobey as Spider-Man for a while, but I just LOVE Andrew’s Spider-Man. He’s quippy, emotional, and most of all, Andrew LOVES Spider-Man and loved acting as him.

I hate when people try to bring up his spider-sense as some form of counter, but still be the same people that forget he needs the speed to dodge said things. Because as far as I know the movie versions of the spider-sense only tells them "danger from this way".
Fun fact: Andrew was holding back against the Lizard, its confirmed that Spider man is stronger than pretty much all of his villains (outside of there being a few acceptions, such as Venom and Carnage) the only reason why he doesn't kill them is because he's always holding back.

In the Amazing Spider-Man 2 game in the shocker boss fight, Shocker mentions he was gonna take down the oscorp building and Peter mentions the building can take level 9 or 8 earthquakes so depending on how seriously you take that statement and wether you think Shocker thought he could one-shot it, that scaling would be pretty wild.

I never understood the hate Garfield’s Spider-Man got. Phenomenal Peter Parker and definitely an amazing Spider-Man. They could’ve done better with the power levels in his first movie. Let me eat cake to the lizard should’ve been monumental weren’t actually show up our feet of knocking him into the building of Ricky wall when he will be enough around. We didn’t have to see in stronger, but we should’ve seen his strength have a viable affect. That’s all I’m sayin other than that no complaints.

That’s not what happened. Connors had the math for all but the decay rate algorithm, which Peter just found from his dad and plugged in to the equation. Literally just added 00 to Connors project, and it still failed an created the Lizard 🫢😳 Plus Tobey is literally called the wisest which means he as the most knowledge.
@@CRISIS_COMICS True on the first part I guess but did it REALLY FAIL tho...technically he failed at just regrowing the arm but he kinda unlocked a form of Animal SUPER SOLDIER SERUM😭. So that still suggests on some level he perfected the formula to Splice Humans and Animals...he just took it to the NEXT level. Tbh they should have explore that concept a but more in the movies instead of just canning it in TASM 2. It was nice to see it expanded on a bit more in the game tho
@@no.1spidey-fan182 The goal was just to regrow limbs and introduce self healing properties of animals into humans in a stable non-homicidal way; so creating the Lizard is deffo a failure. It wasn’t in the intended affect, so it’s a failure by definition.
@@CRISIS_COMICS Agreed but I'm still gonna consider it somewhat of a feat. Before Peter came along every trial run just ended up with the test subject dying and the project was on hold or years.
Splicing DNA on that level is still insane. It causes insanity but the resulting creature is still capable of communication and is stronger than most man made weapons.
Not to mention we already kind of know how to solve that problem of insanity by implementing the test subjects blood into the creature you want to splice it with before hand which made Spider-Man the perfect result because his father's DNA was in the spider. Which makes him not wanting to help Harry in TASM 2 make even LESS sense cause he knows how to solve the problem😂

I like that the tasm games get attention. While the second game is pretty weak compared to the first, the first game is honestly really good. The only downside being that the webslinging doesn't attach to objects and just shoots straight up in the air. Other than that, it's still my 2nd favorite spiderman game (the first being the 2018 game)
I have made a different scale to him.
Back in the second movie he was able to withstand Electro going full power and Electro was being fullfilled by the NYC whole eletricity (So Electro would be casting his FP while being recovered so Peter indeed took that whole thing), and according to Google NYC requires at base amount of 2620 Mega Watts so using some converters, it would be 2,62Billions Newtons and about 262,9 Kilotons (Large Town Level) so his Durability being this level means his Attack Potency is as well(Third Law of Newton). Electro powers are constantly misundertand by many people, he isnt using lightning based attack but *eletric* based attacks, so according to Google, the speed of eletricity is 90% Speed of Light so every SM in LA should be around Relativistic in Combat/Reaction Speed, and due to Andrew dodging it even before his prime it (Spiderman gets stronger through the years so NWH>TASM2) means he should be even faster than the others 2 Live Action Spiderman. In the TASM (i dont remember which one) he stops a Bus from flipping out and hitting two people by putting it back to the roads just with his own back and leg strength, and according to CBVSW calculations, he made a strength of around 18,5tons. His H2H is very underrated, bro literally defeated all S.W.A.T. with only H2H Combat, so for me the overall is:
Lifting Strength: 18,5Tons
C/R Speed: Relativistic+
AP/Durability: Large Town Level
Intellect: Genius
Experience: 12 Years (Total of 8+ Villains and this is Post NWH)

I think Tom’s video should come first since you’ve already made one on Tobey. I also think it would be slightly easier to gather evidence for the Tom vid since he doesn’t have as much extra material, at least to my knowledge anyway.
From watching the films and some of the cartoons, I think Lizard was always supposed to be more overpowered than Spiderman and Doctor Octopus. If it comes down to a Marvel/ DC battle up against Killer Crock, both he and the Lizard would be almost evenly matched. But, Hey, that's just me.

Andrew's Spidey just lacks strength feats compared to the other two unfortunately, and him not getting a third movie didn't help either. But his speed, agility and skill are still reflected well and No Way Home proved he is at least on Tom's level.

These Games that are more based on the Cinematic universe, just like their movie counterparts are much more exaggerated than the Games that are more closely based on the comics than the movies have ever been. I only know this because I have Ultimate Alliance 1 for Original Xbox and also because I have watched RUclips videos that mentions or tells about the comic book versions of the Marvel characters.

Andrew's spidey is pretty powerful, but Tobey is on a whole another level. Maybe if TASM 3 comes out someday, we'll have some updated feats for him.
He wouldnt scale off tom as the tom in the finale fight was weakened due to goblin breaking his ribs.
