In the previous song Scream, they are mostly victims, but they have had enough. The chorus shifts from "Please, I don't want to scream" to "I'm just gonna make you scream" at the end. This song picks up from that point, and they are avenging furies/protectors. In this comes in the wake of suicides of prominent K-pop artists including Sulli, Goo Hara, and Jonghyun.
They're saying hateful comments hurt everyone including those who say them. Dami's rap about a big paradox, a killer to protect you, is saying it still hurts people even if you're doing it to defend someone from other hate. In the bridge the line about too many angels dying now is about what some people do when the hate overwhelms them. And the chorus is saying just everyone shut your mouth.
The important point in this song is when Sua sings 'I'm going to change your mind'. As was clear in Scream, returning hate for hate simply makes you the same as the haters. You fight the darkness with the light of reason and truth. I'm afraid the next song is not hopeful about our ability to do that in a world that spews lies and propaganda from the internet 24/7.
Thanks for the shoutout! Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy, which deals with bullying and hate comments, in particular the online variant ("A trick behind a mask, a ridiculous freak" from Scream). Boca has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song?
Absolutely it’s so sad what people have to go through on a regular basis. 😞Honestly they all really impress me with how they are able to create such powerful and meaningful songs they adapt to its concept so well, you can just see they add so much of their time and energy into perfecting each and every song.
Thanks for checking out Dreamcatchers Boca. You pretty much nailed the meaning. In Boca (mouth in Spanish) they're seeing people be abused and are telling the haters to shut their Boca or they'll make them. Dreamcatcher almost always have deeper meanings in theIr music. They have three other storylines. The Nightmare series (7 songs), the Apocalypse Trilogy (3 songs), and the Versus duology (2 songs). They also have 3 stand-alone songs, two of which are tied to mobile games.
Wow I’m so excited to get more into them 😁, and I’ll have to look into those other songs you recommended. Also I’m so glad I got the meaning right, I was so worried i was going to muck it up. 🫠
The standalone songs are called Deja Vu (it's a REALLY big deal among fans) and Rose Blue that were tie-ins with games. BEcause is a standalone summer song; but in Korea there is a tradition of telling scary stories in the summer because getting chills cools you down so Dreamcatcher's summer song is not your standard upbeat happy pop song.

That’s definitely the best way to fight the darkness aka the haters, being ethical is always the right way to go about situations like this 😌
