I love how Sauron played Celebrimbor, using Feanor card on him, making sure Celebrimbor's pride and desire to be better than everyone else lead him to his downfall just like it did his ancestors. What a great scene!

Apparently in elvish _anna_ means _gift_ and _tar_ means _lord._ However, I recognize the Finnish origin of those words with _anna_ being an inflection of _antaa_ which stands for _give_ and _-tar_ being a suffix for feminine Finnish words like _haltiatar_ (female elf) the way _-ess_ is in English for words like _duchess_ and _actress._
It literally showed at the beginning of the episode with the map cracking after mount doom erupted that it caused the earthquake which broke the mountain 🤦🏻♂️
The show has really impressed me so far. The creators have found their stride, improving on the first season while diving deeper into Middle-earth's lore. The world-building is stunning, and the characters feel more fleshed out. The balance between epic scale and personal stories makes the world come alive. Sure, there are some pacing issues, but they don't detract much from the overall experience. I don't understand why people don't like it-maybe it's because of their expectations from Tolkien's work. For me, it's a solid 9/10.🤷

There were 5 Wizards... Saruman the White, Radagast the Brown, Gandalf the Grey... and 2 Blue Wizards that were never named. Not much is truly known about them, but it is believed that 1 was corrupted long before Saruman took up in Isengard. It is possible the Dark Wizard here is meant to be this Blue Wizard. Just requires a change of clothing and it fits.
There are two versions of the Blue Wizards. The first earlier writings from the professor have them be named Alatar and Pallando. In these writings, the professor states that they failed in their mission, forming dark cults etc. In later writings they are known as Morinehtar and Rómestámo. In these writings, Tolkien states that they had great effect on stopping Sauron from amassing enough forces to outnumber the west. If* these wizards end up being the Blues, Amazon might be going the route of having one from each of the writings. One bad Blue wizard and one good.

Holy crap, just finished ep3. This season 100x better then s1. Like wow this feels like a different show. The storylines, the politics, the characters are so damn good. Is it too hot of a take to say s2 is better then House of the Dragons s2. Lol
This reads almost like a comment written by a bot. The characters are paper-thin, the storylines are dull, contrived, illogical, poorly paced, and inconsistent. The politics barely exist, but what little is there is not compelling or well written. The dialogue attempts to be flowery but is instead clumsy and often silly. The acting is mostly mediocre, with a couple exceptions. HotD S2 had major issues, but it's miles beyond this show.

Funnily, Hinds being in the show weirdly makes real a mixup I had when S1 was still coming out. I thought it was Ciaran Hinds was playing Adar, only to be corrected that it was Joseph Mawle (who also played a badass character in the North in GoT lol). So now that Hinds is also in RoP when originally I thought he was in it when he wasn’t, its kinda funny. Would have been even wilder if he was the actor replacing Mawle as Adar lol
Elves are not men. But that doesn't mean they too cannot be coerced with power. Men are more susceptible to it. But Elves are more powerful with it. Give them power and they become even stronger. They can use it to do good but like Galadriel in Fellowship, that power can become too strong even if used for good. She never ended up falling for the one ring completely, hopefully this rendition of her characters get a turn around and abides by that.
Unexpectivelly the second episode was kind of good continue. Interesting scenes and sequenses. Even Stranger part of story , was intriguing. Honorable episode, and dialogues went better. Changing of Elrond is damn good.

These first 2 episodes were outstanding I thought. Ep 3 falls off for me as Numenor is such a dull storyline with even duller and more annoying characters. But as a whole, I'm really enjoying the show!
Episode 1 and 2 were good, but episode 3 is my favourite so far. Loved every scene in Khazad-dum, Isildur becomes much more interesting and Pharazon, Miriel and Elendil have always been some of my favourite characters.
Mr Wizard LOOKS very Saruman though he wouldn’t be bad at this stage. He might be a bit more steely and powerful he doesn’t have to be kind to be good, in The Hobbit he was still quite gruff….but his dealings are all looking a bit dark here to be quite what I’d imagine. But I suppose we’ll see!

I read the Lord of the Rings decades ago. I was always on Saurons side. I actually wanted him to get the ring back. This is great because the actor is very attractive. As Elrond says he uses his charm against people. I find it fun to watch manipulation because some people don't seem to be able to spot it.

She has touched the darkness and returns to the light. This is Tolkien's famous "Trembling Moment", when it is decided if somebody falls to evil or returns to the light. He wrote (concerning Morgoth): „As with all other characters there must be a trembling moment when it is in the balance" (J.R.R. Tolkien, Myths Transformed VI - HoME10) After this scene Galadriel is changed. She then tells Theo: "t darkens the heart to call dark deeds “good.” It gives place for evil to thrive inside us. Every war is fought both without and within. Of that, every soldier must be mindful. Even I. Even you.’
The closeup camerawork is also improved. They stopped doing that thing when Galadriel makes an eyes wide, angy face and the camera just kinda stays zoomed in on it for wayy too long. I’m really glad M Clark has kept in the show and improved, and still has that excellent smile In interviews and stuff. She got a lot of flack for what was poor direction/editing from the directors, not poor acting (mostly), and I’m really really happy that she didn’t let all the insane hate get to her
Just finished the three eps and my takeaway was that there are too many storylines to keep up with because I didn’t remember half of the characters and their backstory lol. I enjoyed the eps more than I thought I would tho I will say that much

Just finished the three eps and my takeaway was that there are too many storylines to keep up with because I didn’t remember half of the characters and their backstory lol. I enjoyed the eps more than I thought I would tho I will say that much

The reason he takes and wears the ring after Gil-Galad dies is because they thought with Sauron defeated the rings were fine to use.
@RaiderNic99 Elrong knew Sauron wasn't gone forever because he knew the Ring of Power had survived thanks to Isildur. He counclied Isildur to cast the ring into the fire but Isildur refused taking the ring as debt for the lives of Elendil and Anarion his brother.
