      Idk why but I just didn’t even connect that she was seeing Sauron’s true form standing right there with them and that makes the whole thing 1000% better. Super cool, he’s just been disguising himself to whatever benefits him this whole series, it’s hard to remember there is a literal embodiment of evil and darkness standing right there with them.

    I loved this episode, it reminded me a bit of the politics of Game of Thrones but in a different way. Numenor really, as you say, is something that needs to be improved, but in this episode we finally see how the decline began and how greed begins to overflow, like a tsunami coming from the sea. LOL, the part about the dwarves and elves was fantastic. I loved this manipulation, this beginning of the dwarves' fall also due to their greed, which is much greater in them. With each light that illuminated the darkness, as you said, penetrating the mountain again, it was like each initial fracture that will bring about the total collapse. Man, I loved the episode. If it weren't for all these people being blinded by irrationality, there would be a lot more people talking about this series without wanting to be so toxic and meaningless, heuehe.

    This episode did a good job at demonstrating the different effects of each of the Rings of Power. The Elves used their three to preserve their kingdoms and we able to avoid Sauron's temptations. The Dwarves will not fall under Sauron's influence because they're too stubborn, but the Seven Rings did increase their love of gold, causing them to build up hoards massive enough to attract dragons (like what will happen to Erebor in the Third Age) or in the case of Khazadum (the Dwarves dug too deep and too greedily, unleashing Durin's Bane). Ultimately, 3 of the 7 will be consumed by dragons and the rest will be reclaimed by Sauron. And finally, the Men who will be given the Nine Rings will become the Nazgul.

      @emmanaess2860 3 месяца назад +11

      The watcher lives in a small pool outside of the western Walls of Moria, not in the tunnels underneath Khazad-dûm. The first documented encounter with the watcher was after the hobbit movie, when Balin tried to reclaim Moria, so I doubt it will appear in this show.
      They did however show us last season that Durin's Bane is down in the tunnels, so can't imagine it would be anyone but him.

      @emmanaess2860 3 месяца назад +6

      @@alexblazquezvelarde8677 Unless they intend to include a short scene by Kheled-zâram, I fail to see how the Watcher would add to the story. The Watcher is confined to water and thus would not pose a threat to Khazad-dûm.
      We know that the mining activity of the Dwarves awoke Durin's Bane, who was both included in season one and the trailer for season two. While its conceivable that the Watcher will eventually be included, it would be odd in my opinion to not have the monster talked about here be Durin's Bane.

    • @mythicproductions9154
      @mythicproductions9154 3 месяца назад

      @@emmanaess2860 It could also be a Red Haring. We know that the creature in the tunnels is Durin's Bane. There is nothing to debate there. But the scene where Gisa encounters the sound... those were pools of water. And the sounds that were bounced back to her were similar to the sounds the watcher makes. While the Watcher is known and first encountered to be at the gates of Durin outside Moria, this could be where it originated from. That it was beneath the mountain originally. The ring, while helping the dwarves, is also guiding them to their doom.
      The lake outside the gates of Duren did not exist until after the doors were sealed. And it is suggested that the creature could have been awoken by the dwarves just like how Durin's Bain is awoken. It is also suggestive that the Watcher was awoken by Sauron's growing power. All that said, it could be one or the other, or both. No way to tell at the moment until we see how it all unfolds.

    I will say, what many people don't realize when they say they want the show to go away, its not going to. It was contracted for 5 seasons. Something like a BILLION dollar deal. So trust me, for that cost, they won't stop it before then. Sauron had no power over the dwarven rings unlike with the men instead the corruption in the rings just encouraged the dwarven greed making them even more greedy and wanting more and more, their own natural greed kept them from submitting to saurons will, which annoyed sauron because he couldn't control them and he tried taking the rings back think he took 3 rings back and its assumed the rest had been eventually eaten by dragons

Elf their land and magic, dwarf treasure and in this case the light, humans eternal life, so the corruptin came in that way, the elfs were safe of the corruption, the dwarfs dig too deep for balrgos and hover over so much treasure that dragons came, humans became the nazgul

      Same place the dwarf lords come from in this episode - most likely from off-screen. We don’t even see the 7 Dwarf ringbearers and we’re unlikely to. We’ll probably get at least one numenorean Ringwraith, the Witch King, and presumably one from Rhun since it was name checked in this episode - but I don’t see the writers wanting to cram in 6-7 other side characters as backstory for the ringwraiths. The witch king is the only notable one of the Nine anyway.

    This is the frist episode of this season that was enjoyable. And I think I have finally figured out why because looking through the episode catalog of both seasons, it is now clear to me that the less I see of Gladriel in a episode the better I like that episode and i so wanted not to admit that last season. The one thing I'm still not sure of is wether it is the writing for her character or the blandness of the actress. I really hope its the writing because that can be improved but the actor can't be replaced at this stage probably.
    Or just minimize her role in the show, there are so many other interesting characters and storylines in the show, just focus on them.

      I'm worried about Celebrían and Celeborn and how they're going to make this character appear. I would theorize that after the fall of Numenor they would disappear with these human characters and there would be a time jump with Galadriel pregnant and Celebrían grown up, but there's still Isildur...so no chance. He'll still age, but not much. Unless Celebrían is already born and Galadriel has left her in a safe place, this could pose a problem in the future if they don't find a good solution.

The overall story there is weak for sure, but the performances of some of the main actors plus the trajectory of Elendil/Isildurs’ characters here is interesting to me considering how we first see them on screen.
