Some thing I realized was that the hex and all of this stuff would’ve never happened if they just gave vision a funeral. If you look back at WandaVision you would see that Wanda begged Hayward to give Vision a funeral but he refused, and so all of this happened. She just wanted him to rest in peace, but now she will never get that, because they made him into white vision.
now that I think about you’re right, They kept taking from wanda and all she wanted was simple.
Yeah, and what makes that worse is it wasn't an accident. Hayward was manipulating her to get what he wanted, caused a disaster, then he (and Agatha) kept making it worse.
Yes. Finally someone understands. Like she didn’t go to westview with a malicious plan. She went there to see the house. And all her pain suddenly irrupted and caused the hex
What's gonna blow you're mind is that Tony Stark is responsible for all of this.
@@timlanteigne298 🤭The fact that I’ve been saying this for years. Tony is at fault for a lot of pain in wanda’s life
CANT HATE HER WHEN SHE IS JUST SO GOOD AT WHAT SHE DOES 😭
IKR, how could I *possibly* consider Wanda bad when Lizzie's acting so good? ♥🧙♀ I'm straight, but at the same time, I was grinning so hard & my heart was fluttering during her speech at Kamar-Taj, and by the time I walked out of the theater I'd concluded that I'd let her dominate me. 😆

Also, Ash, fun fact, Elizabeth Olsen said in an interview that the STOP IT line happened by accident, one of the kids actually hit her in the face and she kinda snapped (it had been a real long day of shooting and they were all tired apparently)
Really? Hahah lmao. Do you remember what interview it was?
Na so the “stop it” was in the script but she felt herself getting agitated and thought she should use that to yell the line at the kids so it’s more authentic but she felt so bad after for doing that to them

@@to3sted248 What Strange did in What If Episode 4 is somewhat similar to what Wanda is doing, and we still love that Dr. Strange.
I refuse to believe that Wanda is dead until I see a body, even then, maybe not. I think that they left her "death" ambiguous enough for another director to undue it if they need her for future movies or TV (possible for Young Avengers).
That’s like rule number one of storytelling: without a body, it ain’t dead. Sometimes even with a body… Wanda will be back, no doubts.
She still has a contract with marvel i think theyll do the whole young avengers things in the comics shes missing and billy and tommy with the other ypung avengers look for her but she has like no memory so that might happen also with agatha series coming and introducing wiccan to the mcu she would be reveal to be alive or even appear in it
There's a reason they haven't announced any future plans for Lizzie in the MCU. She broke her back carrying this entire movie, and they've got to wait for her to recover.

"This should have been a Wanda movie with Dr. Strange in it." I COMPLETELY agree. Does the hero need to win every time? NO. But come on either make it her movie or or at least give a little more of a fight for her. This whole movie was just too easy for her. She lost only because she basically chose to.
Despite all that....I mean I did still love it. I do still love her. She's definitely still mother. But come onnnnnnnnnnn.

I just wanna point out that in the comics Wanda has said "something as trivial as death couldn't keep me away for long" before dying *then" coming back not too long after...but without memories...idk if that's the direction marvel would take especially since Elizabeth Olsen has been playing this character for like the better part of a decade, and contracts and stuff, but I hope we get to see our Dark Mother™ again soon

I just wish it was more a Dr Strange movie, but i'm excited for a 3rd movie especially with Clea being there now!
While Wanda is most definitely a main character here, I think far too many people are missing the very clear character development Strange has from beginning to end. It’s a character study in a lot of ways for him when you really analyze it deeper. The consistent theme being about “holding the knife”. One of the most important scenes in the film no one mentions is the conversation between Strange and Dr. West at the beginning. West mentions how although yes everyone from the snap was brought back, he provided a very personal and humane look at how the snap effected people. He said that in the time he was gone, he lost people in his family (including his cats lol). And he shows that the everyday person in the MCU could look at the events very differently, wondering if it DID have to happen that way. This is where Strange’s journey across the multiverse meeting/learning about his other variants comes in. They serve as a self reflection for Strange as a character to grow beyond them at the end. The contrast between Defender Strange going to kill America for her power, but our Strange doesn’t. Illuminati Strange doing what he felt was “the only way” to defeat Thanos, resulting in the Annihilation of a whole universe. And then Sinister Strange as well. All these variants provide a deep self reflection for his character, the choices he makes, and how to grow BEYOND his variants. Realizing that he doesn’t always have to hold the knife. Of course Wanda is amazing as well and had a lot of development cuz well, she’s the co Star and main antagonist lol. But the point is, Strange has clear development from beginning to end, which is also exemplified through him bowing to Wong. Yes Strange was humbled in many ways in the first film, but he’s always still had that arrogance about him. And clearly after coming back, he hasn’t been content with his place in the universe with Wong as Sorcerer Supreme and not him. He had multiple instances in NWH and MoM where he appeared clearly annoyed about it, and thus didn’t follow ancient customs. But yet at the end of MoM, he shows more humility and contentment than ever by bowing to Wong. This comment has become way too long, but I just wanted to provide some of how I interpreted this film 🤣
@@rileyribble6733 I agree with you. I am not really an MCU fan, and I had just watched the Everything, Everywhere All at Once, but I enjoyed the movie and loved Dr. Strange and Wanda's arcs. I agreed with Ashley's comments! I too wonder if people would have accepted Wanda's reasons if she had been a male antagonist. The theme of wishing for another life or circumstances was prevelant through the movie and I liked that. It was a nice break from bad guy take over the world or "genoicide because..." plotline.
Oh she's not dead. Whenever they don't show a character death onscreen, it's pretty much guaranteed they're alive somewhere out there. The fact that they won't confirm or deny also goes a long way with being certain of her survival.
@@justjoy6537 I've definitely found there is a lot of hate directed at most of the female protagonists in the MCU, which is strange given that the male protagonists tend to cause a lot more of the overarching issues within the films. People will bring up Westview and ignore that Tony and Bruce created Ultron.
@@rileyribble6733 This!!! I think too many MCU fans believe that character development has to make them more stronger/powerful but in this case Dr Strange in mentally getting stronger and learning to take a step back and allow others to take the weight aka 'hold the knife'.
Wanda had me going through the emotions in this one. I can only imagine when she goes through a redemption arc, and she reflects on how many people she killed (Refuse to believe she is dead).
It’s worth noting the director has an iconic history in the horror world - Sam Raimi directed the Evil Dead movies, Drag Me To Hell, and has produced tons of horror movies such as Crawl. His superhero movies prior to this had horror elements brought in also (ESPECIALLY that one scene in Spider-Man 2), and this movie features tons of cameos, references and directing staples from his other movies, right down to the camera angles and even specific sound effects.
Would absolutely LOVE to see Ashley watch some more of his stuff.
All she wanted was her kids back. She lost her parents, brother, lover them kids. She lost everyone she every loved, so I feel for her. She better not be dead cuz she is one of my comfort characters.

@@zakabouelfaioud7653 true which wouldn't that cause an incursion?
you view her as a strongest character but I think she was the weakest since she can't even face the reality and wanted to escape from it
@@inchanted3179 The point is that Wanda endured some serious trauma at a formative age (losing her parents the way she did at 10 and spending 2 days staring down a live bomb expecting to be blown up at any second) and never had the opportunity to get therapy.
Then losing her twin brother and only surviving family … also traumatically…then falling for Vision and planning a future with him, until - wait for it - losing him traumatically …twice…no wait …three times.
Hence her reliance on maladaptive day dreaming. We see it in 10 year Wanda’s “it was just a bad dream” when she didn’t realize she was manifesting it and magically defusing a Tony Stark bomb all the way to creating a sitcom town where she and Vision could have their happily ever after and not realizing until late in the series that she actually physically manifested it all and was keeping a whole town in lock down for two weeks(Covid mood).

🙄Ah, the *Hitler defense.*
Many nazi-Germans also claimed that they did nothing wrong during WWII, simply because they were just following orders.
🤔I guess y'all believe that the end justifies the means?
I understand that the book corrupted her, and I would probably not be as angry if it was some other character, because she is my favorite character. I don't think it was done in the right way. In Wandavision she decides to be selfless and to let people go despite knowing she will lose the family she created. And then one scene of reading a book and now she is a full blown villain. Maybe if we had more scenes of her being corrupted in Wandavision, or her having a motive to save her children in other reality, maybe hearing their cries and pain. This way she tries to steal them from their actual mother and will k!ll anyone who tries to stop her. She looks really unlikeable. I would understand if the corruption of the book would make her be willing to sacrifice someone else to save her kids, which is something she wouldn't do in Wandavision, but this escalated a lot very quickly. She comes literally villainized as being a "hysteric woman". That is so not where Wanda should be at this point. Comic book Wanda had unhinged moments, but I think they should be narratively built up. Even if we have seen some signs in the past, like the siege of Westview, the mental deterioration feels so narratively unsatisfying. I'm feeling like I'm watching Daenerys Targaryen all over again. This kind of thing could work in a book, because the pacing allows you to flesh out instability, but the movie had it too rushed for narrative purposes. I understand that mental illness IRL can just display one day with no explanation, but in fiction it needs to make sense to the consumer and it needs to be built over time.
This exactly. I love a dark character, but it felt forced and pushed. Also I'm so sick of the "superhero woman going insane, turning evil and then dying" trope (ofc we don't know if she died, but if you only watch this movie, then it looks like that). I'm all for bad-ass Wanda and wouldn't mind seeing her having to fight with getting corrupt by the book. But how come Strange is totally okay with the powers in the post credit scene while Wanda turned mad? That, I'm not here for
i agree. like after all that wanda went through it is a reasonable idea that she would be this vengeful, but based on the way they were displaying wanda, it seemed that she wasn't on that path. like even just a quick monologue stating that she tried to fake it till you make it/ be the bigger person and then finally snapped. i just feel like we never saw her snapping.
FUCKING PREACH IT. plus basically having a mentally ill woman be corrupted and lose her fight and then self sacrifice.... like... really....
they’ve been building to this since pietro died. wanda was literally a villain for most of that movie so it shouldn’t be so surprising that she has villainous tendencies, especially after being corrupted by the darkhold. they definitely should have done a scarlet witch solo film before this but it still connects to wandavision just fine imo and she was the best thing about this movie honestly
@@Noah-bp4gu in wandavision she did let them go but wasn't fully over them. The large amount of trauma she had faced till that point couldn't be processed in such a short duration, and she would have if the darkhold hadn't hold of her. While i agree that her development felt rushed but we see exactly how she has been corrupted by Darkhold, with every action she takes and every line she speaks it is all Darkhold's influence. It tells her the end justfies the means and her actions are justified as she is a "mother". That is why she feels so flawed because she is supposed to be because of darkhold

😂 I was rooting for her the entire time
Ashley: "Chris-tine, OOOHHHH."
Me: *momentarily thinks Ash is vocalizing like we're in Phantom of the Opera* 😆
I looooved this movie, I know a lot of people thought it didn't reach the expectations but it did to me, cause all I wanted to see was Wanda on her maximum power destroying everything and everyone that comes on her way and that's exactly what we got. Also, in the end no one could actually stop her but herself, so that tells you about how powerful she is. I loved that.
I LOVE YOUR MARVEL REVIEWS 😭😭😭 PLS DONT STOP DOING THEM!
Ashley at MCU Twitter: "Y'all are just never happy, are you?"🤔😑
Girl you do NOT want to see the atom bomb that is Star Wars Twitter. It's so much worse than MCU it has its own subsection: The Fandom Menace. 😆😅
being both a harry styles fan and star wars fan with the rumour that harry is joining sw…. it’s rough
@@kenziecooper7028 OH
MY
GOD
THEYRE COMBINING
Again the criticism is legitimate especially with the whitewashing and how they just forgot about the show.
@@Slm99 Im sorry but how did MOM completely forget about Wandavision? Did u not watch the post credit scene of Wanda literally reading from the book of the damned and they literally explained how the book was corrupting her.
@@michaelappel103 They we’re repeating her story again.
It’s time for mom to react to everything everywhere all at once🥺
BEST FILM EVER
yes please now please thanks
Actually really liked that movie
fun fact: in the scene where Wanda breaks the fourth-wall, she does that bc she has seen every universe including ours
Can we be blessed with an Everything Everywhere All at Once reaction/commentary 🙏🏼
you should totally watch Everything Everywhere All at Once... that one is a really multiverse movie
I've watched every video in your MCU list and can't wait to see your thoughts about the movies Eternals, Shang-Chi, and Thor and the shows What If, Loki, Miss Marvel, Moon Knight, and She Hulk! You're awesome
OUR INTERNET MOM IS BACK !!! we love you ash
I have never been so hyped about the word “reasonable” in my life!!
I think this really showed how much grief can affect your life if not dealt with properly
YESSSS THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS REACTION WE ALL WANTED
Edit: I swear I manifested this cause I’ve been dreaming for a reaction of this movie when I saw Ashley’s tweet about MoM
Literally, same here. ♥
I didn’t care about Peggy that much until I watched agent carter. It’s a must watch
Completely agree. If all you know her from is the movies, there's hardly anything to go on, and it's totally fair to be more or less over her at this point. But those of us who saw Agent Carter know that Haley Atwell deserves so much more to do with this character, and I really hope Captain Carter comes back in more projects.
SAME. That show was my absolute favorite for a while!
Agent Carter was so cool esp with Jarvis and Howard Stark but they do not be letting go of Agent Carter LOL
I loved Agent Carter !!!! I started watching her show around the time my love for Marvel had just started so she gotta special place in my heart 🥹🤍
That’s kind of the problem. Main universe Peggy is infinitely more interesting than Captain Carter.
When I watched Thore, Love and Thunder at the cinema, everyone was like "Yeah I kinda get the bad guy, they pissed him off and also he's possessed by dark magic" EVERYONE. He was kidnapping children and killing gods/heroes. AND he was a freshly new villain nobody really cared about. Why not the same treatment with Wanda???
Maybe because she's a mum and they're supposed to be angelic, otherwise they're unredeemable. PS. The mummy guy (I mean, even the NAME XD) was also a father and was ALSO doing all that s**t to get his daughter back... 🙄.
🖐The differnce between Gor and Wanda is that Gor sacrificed himself to bring his daughter back while Wanda was willin' to kill her variant to steal the twins.
Gor ❤his daughter while Wanda is only selfish.
@@TrickyD Also makes it easier to hate Wanda with the fact that she enslaved an ENTIRE town, and made them experience HER nightmares 24/7

"Also makes it easier to hate Wanda with the fact that she enslaved an ENTIRE town, and made them experience HER nightmares 24/7"
🤔True, but Gor has done far worse: he killed gods and wasn't concerned at all to whatever happened to those civiliazations who depended on the gods he had just murdered.
😍But his redeeming quality is that he was willing to sacrifice himself so his daughter might live, which, so far, I've seen no evidence that Wanda is willing to do the same.
Personally the only thing i didn't like about the movie was that they didn't include as much multiversal travel as i wanted. Don't get me wrong i loved the movie, but i wanted to see more scenes of them jumping around in other universes. The one scene we got where they were going through multiple universes was absolutely amazing but i think we needed more of that in other parts of the movie. I think the reason I'm saying that is because the movie is called multiverse of madness yet we only actually saw 2 other universes, the one where they dropped with the iluminati and the one that had been destroyed by the incursion. (Also, the montage when mordo explains what dreamwalking is and then we see wanda do it was weird to me but i didn't dislike it).
Yeah same,
I get it but you gotta think of budget
I RECOMMEND EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE I FEEL LIKE YOU'D ENJOY THAT MOVIE AS MUCH AS I DID
heyyy, marvel fan here, and as a fan who has been watching these movies since phase 1, I completely understand your point. It annoys me when marvel fans say they want something new and when they get it, they aren’t satisfied. I don’t think every movie in phase 4 was great but Doctor Strange: MoM was definitely a high point for me. I love the direction and risks the movie took. Not every movie needs to be an event and ppl need to understand that.
you’re so right about the fact that nobody actually cared about her when she’s good and now they wanna attack her after EVERYTHING she’s been through plus! the fact that’s not even entirely her but it’s the darkhold corrupting her and making her a “villain”. wanda is a good person and she’ll never hurt innocent people willingly and on purpose, my mother needs the biggest hug ever and im so mad nobody was kind enough to give her a little comfort but her other self :(
Talking about the Wanda Vision series and how you can still feel the emotions without knowing anything is soo accurate. It was the series that even got me into Marvel in the first place and now I'm obsessed😭☠️
We need more random Ash singing Wanda themes!!!! Like girl, you don’t even have to edit it out! make it easy on yourself and let us enjoy singing with you 😂😂
Wanda's fully in her mother gothel arc and I'm here for it
and the fact that I watched this movie on MOTHER'S DAY??? iconic 10/10 experience
GIRLLL THE WAY SHE SAID IT WHEN BENEDICT WAS SHIRTLESS SCENE HER REACTION TOO GOOOOODD
13:24
I loved that scene and it made me cry because Billy and Tommy are my favorite characters(they are in young avengers that’s why they are my favorite) and seeing them as kids and them in this scene literally hurt me, they are so cute and Wanda not being able to have them is sad, all she wants is to be a mother
“If my kids sang that song I’d be like you’re not getting ice cream.” 😂
I love that she literally was like oh “is their mother still alive? “ like we love a evil witch mommy who also cares about random people’s children❤❤
ASHHH watch Everything Everywhere All At Once please. It's the real multiverse of madness and made me feel all the emotions in the spectrum.
YESS BEEN WAITING FOR THIS COMMENT
As a Wandavision stan like yourself. I’m still on the fence about this movie. i honestly think that everything Wanda went through in wandavision didn’t mean anything at the end of the day… i thought she was fine letting go of vision and her children. She made bad choices, she went to a dark place, she grieved, she triumphed. This just felt like she went right back to making bad choices And for some reason they let the darkhold be about her finding her kids. All that considered, it’s a good movie, but I feel like it could’ve done a better job explaining how her actions in this movie were due to the darkhold and that the OG Wanda was still in there.
omg agreed !
Did you not see the post credit scene in wandavision where she was reading the darkhold, or watch this movie where it was clearly said that the Darkhold corrupts anyone who reads it. It literally explains it
@@SlumShady11 ehhh, corrupts how? Like, is it whispering in her ear or is it literally controlling her actions? Like, why can't she use all this power to recreate her kids, instead of stealing different versions of her kids? Maybe that doesn't work, or goes wrong, and she winds up here eventually... But I agree it feels random after the context of WandaVision. Would've been way better as "Wanda Maximoff and the Madness of the Multiverse": like, she keeps failing to resurrect her kids, but she can hear them out there (which is what we kind of got at the end of WandaVision, except they were actually calling out for her help!). It slowly drives her insane, feeling like the less-badass 838 Wanda can't protect those kids or something, so she *has* to: she *deserves* to... And then we get some madness, but it actually makes better emotional sense? And if we get a reason why she's doing this, it could be way darker! Because she might *stop* being reasonable.
@@SlumShady11 exactly
13:33 I'M CRYINNNNNNNNNG your editing is always on point Ash skdhaslkdh
Most people: feels bad for 616 Wanda
Me: feels bad for the Wanda that was possessed and after what happened with the illuminati, will probably face bad consequences.
