- So this is what MN Model made me wait for? It's not impressive at all. Still plastic ring and pinion gears. Old gearbox with 180 not 260 motor as listed on the banggood website. Now you can't open the hood, no wiper blades, less scale parts compared to the mn d90. Only updates is the frame shape(no logo as well), a set of rubber mirrors and the wheels seem to be better made. Well hope you guys enjoy the video. The Toyota body I guess was worth the 34 bucks I paid for it lol. The WPL C34km is on it's way to me so hopefully I get my paws on it soon!

I just got mine on Friday I got the blue one. What's a little disappointed the hood don't open. But all in all I'm really happy with the little truck it made me laugh seeing all the brand name stickers. I can't wait to get it built and enjoy it. My wife got the d90 and green and I got the fj45 in blue. Awesome video thank you for the fun entertainment

too bad they are not making this FJ45 seriously, because the only thing i want to keep is the body, and even the body itself is not very scale the white roof have gap attached to the body although its not very visible but stil annoying, the part under the grill it's not scale too why they have to make it like that, the most disapointing is the engine hood didn't have open and close anymore, yes i know MN45 is cheap but so do MN90 and WPL c34 but they can take it seriously on their fj40
I agree. This was a bad release for MN Model.
yup, WHAT were they thinking? go uphill weight naturally transfers onto the rear wheels... bye-bye traction and steering up front as soon as it starts getting steep. MN-D90 with 2S 18650 up front and front wheels weighted can climb clamber pretty good. I do think WPL keeps an eye on video comments for improvement ideas a little more.
I'm guessing that the one guy giving a thumbs down just hasn't got his order for one yet!

It's really not too bad. Just when compared to the WPL fj40 it does fall short a bit. I say the regular c34 kit is way better value than the mn45. Just my opinion.

The decals are a laugh! I love them lol. The silver is nice. Not sure if its the plastic or if its painted over. It does look painted. We will see once I scratch this bugger up!
nice video! For aesthetics I prefer the Model 40, but the weight is surely better balanced on the 45 one ;-)
Unfortunately I think the battery placed on the back isn't a good thing.
The best thing would be to mount the mn45 body on the D90 chassis, so you wouldn't have to upgrade another chassis.
Yeah it's a bad choice from mn model. But you can stuff a 2200mah 2s lipo between the body and frame and get better weight distribution and more run time!
I think that the 'K' model is the one with all the metal upgrades in it.
This is the only kit version. There might be a newer one coming out fully proportional but its going to look like the mn d90s.

yup saw it on someone elses video, hood don't open, battery trap in rear (lame!)
not too bummed about plastic bevel gears you can swap in the hard brass pinions for about 2 bucks each (for a WPL) from eBay, just minor surgery. making the hood open is going to take a while, unless you're really smooth with a dremel and slitter blade (or thin cardboard disk works awesome too and cost zero!). STILL not found source for the tan gearbox by itself anywhere, but asked a few places "hey where are they?!!".
It's not a RC I'm excited about. Maybe a 2 speed will change my mind 😁. I was on aliexpress and typed in "wpl parts" and one of the top listings is a tan gearbox with 180 motor for around 5 bucks I believe. I might have to throw a metal pinion in it. I got spares of those! Btw I have received a black cased gearbox with the 4 gears inside like the new style. Weirdly it uses a 10t instead of 12t motor pinion? Wondering if maybe there are 3 variants to this gearbox?
thanks, finally found the little &#%$ !! ordered 2 via slow boat with new buyer discount was about $7.80 for both of em, will put the C-14 and C-24 at the same pace as the MN-D90 anyway, slow walking (unless I go 20k rpm 180 motors). WPL is trying to figure out what works good at least, I was impressed the C-14 kit came with tan gearbox and brass axle input bevels, much nicer than all plastic gears and the old style #316 gearbox that came in the C-24 kit. pretty happy with the #316 gearbox running two 130 motors "HobbyDaddy" style, JJRC axles and Fayee wheels on C-14, crawls+climbs good but can still get a little rowdy with wheel speed to bounce trails...
definitely gotta get that hood to open for easy battery up front and climbing ability, it IS pretty cute, maybe other than the exit angle of the pickup bed. saw WPL "shocks" in eBay 2 bucks a set of 4, would likely give better damping than those MN coil spring beasts. for the heavier weight of the D90, pop in pen springs are just a little stronger. (edit: it will sit about 1/8" lower with them)
Fully Agree...After enjoying the MN-90, the MN-45 is really a disappointment, especially with the closed hood. It seems to me that MN-models has run out of steam after coming out with the MN-90...they are definitely going to be chewed up by WPL's C34KM.
They are coming out with 2 new mn d90 style models that are supposed to be proportional steering and throttle in rtr form. Seems they are trying to milk all the money they can get off that model lol.
other than top heavy butt heavy (fixed with lots of front wheel weight, oil shocks, and Fayee rims/tires) MN-D90 was pretty nicely done. it definitely needed the tan B-36 gearbox robbed from the C-14 kit to take weight load off single 180 motor. watched videos of them running stock (yuck!) so mine has never seen it, shocks arrived day before the kit did, and already had the Fayee wheels, about 7/16" wider wheelbase than stock MN and 1/4" shorter... 1/8" lower CG, more width and with flatter tread tires, its a good bit harder to side tip it.
Yeah this MN 45 sucks. Battery in the back!? Just a poor copy of what WPL has released only MN model had theirs out first.

Thanks for your support! They are nice to have together. The wpl trucks dont play well with these. The scales are just not the same and look weird running besides each other. Cant wait to see what you do to yours!

Yes it can. It is the same everything under that bady so all d90 mods should work.

It is very sad. Seems like all they are doing is making versions of the d90. They obviously don't spend a lot on R&D. Let's make a proportional one! And a Military one! Yay! Lol what's next? I bet it's another d90 style rig lol.
Just received the Toyota 45.At first I thought it might be a waste but having driven it then finding your videos ,it might have a chance.I can probably get a motor and batteries,etc.from the local shop but tires might be a challenge.Where can I order the softer kit version tires ? Thanks for your help.

Why my kit vertion have no stiker?
That's unfortunate that some of these kits come incomplete. Check with the seller if they can send you the stickers! It's worth a try
