After watching this video it occurred to me that this camper is an exact copy of the old Coleman campers. I used to be an RV technician and my favorite pop up was the Coleman. This video brings back fond memories. Like this one, they used very little wood and everything was built over and above what was needed. Somerset was even one of the names they used. I need to find a dealer in North Carolina and check these out. Great video Mount Comfort RV, despite the naysayers.
@@MountComfortRVIndiana Wish I could but I'm way past my prime. Best job I ever had though. Maybe I'll become a consultant. Hmmm!
you are correct , Like the Coleman Grand Tour Series .
Yes it's ALOT like my Coleman Fleetwod Seapine.
I went from RV tech all way through to General Mgr. Blah blah blah blah
I w thinking the same thing, they used a lot of the Coleman features... Loved my little Coleman pop up
We had ALL kind of campers as a family....The pop up gave us the MOST fun....🏕
This is EXACTLY what my Fleetwood Williamsburg looks like inside, except mine is a 2009 model and has a slide out dinette. The back saver supports, the easy down sink. It is all identical. Strong and sturdy.
This brought back fond memories of my 1981 Coleman Ticonderoga. I finally had to sell her after 11 wonderful years. Very similar features and layout.
Finally someone that uses a wireless mic to do their videos !!!!
Sales rule #1: Know your product. You do!!! 😎
I still own a 1991 Coleman pop up . I see a lot of the features in your camper in mine. The rotation of the sink and stove is so great, I wish mine had that. We did research before we bought the Coleman and it paid off. Lots of nice changes in yours , may be my next camper.
It's refreshing to see a product that is not only well made, but with engineering forethought in every detail.
The guy waiving is the best part of the video!
Poor bus guy, just wanted to be in a video
Great Job! Loved the way you broke it down slowly, easy for us to watch and listen.
This guy did a great job going through this camper tent.
Great walkthrough - fella knows his stuff and calls out all the smart design elements which I appreciated.
Hey guy in the RV waving!
Great to see they are keeping those well-engineered Fleetwood/Coleman patented features alive and well.
just saw summerset bought Coleman... that is awesome, still think the rest as just a second to Coleman... glad to see the legend continue...
Excellent smooth and informative presentation. Thank you.
THAT IS ONE NICE CAMPER..tHANKS FOR THE VIDEO..
Larry Keesee Trevor Noah
Thank you for this video... I was looking for one with the toy hauler.
This is nice! The solid aluminum roof and diamond plate are very similar to a nice coleman popup we had years ago. 2011 Evolution ESV3
Crapper?
e jacs yes. Cartridge type with shower
Excellent tour, nice to see construction details.
I grew up camping in the wrong era. I would have loved this in the 80’s.
We had an old Starcraft camper like this one, it was great , simple and easy to use. We had a lot of fun. :-)
Your not lying.....I remember me and my dad would kill ourselves lifting the roof up
ebertmadwoman we still have our old 1978 starcraft we use as a hunting cabin and its 100% original and everything still works! The canvas had to be sewn a few times and new tires of course but talk about quality!
U betcha, Bailey.
No surprise, they were quality made!
Very Nice pop up, much better build quality than our previous Rockwood Highwall. I did like the features of Highwall including bath area with holding tank
This guy needs a raise!
Most RV salespeople don't have a clue what they're talking about when it comes to Pop-Ups. Which, considering they're a very small percentage of sales, and usually their smallest profit, is perhaps understandable. But this guy really seems to know his stuff. It seems as if he's been camping with popups, and therefore knows some of the trials and tribulations that can accompany them.
I'd love one with air lol i loved our Colemans we had growing up
So glad they put those nice grip tires on the camper, u never know when ur gonna need to get traction with the pop up drive axles!!!!
Sarcasm? I read it three times before I realized there were no drive axles. I know nothing about campers etc.
It’s an off-road model, tow your standard cheap highway treaded pop up tires down a fire trail littered with rocks, ruts, and other debris and let me know how long it lasts.
How about towing your camper on knobby tires the 300 miles of interstate to get there?
ChuckD59 it’s all-terrain tread not nobs but whatever you say captain. No different than driving on them on your truck.
Its simple. Match you camper tires and rims to your tow rig and you have additional spares that you can use anywhere on the set up. Different tires on your trailer to your tug, and you only have a spare that can be used on one unit.
Family camping, good memories.
this salesman is very good and he knows what he is talking about, look like well made pop ups
I have a 2001 Coleman Monterey, the features on this are carbon copy of my Coleman. Too bad Coleman stopped making these but this certainly appears to carry on the quality. I'll say one this I like is the elimination of wood in the box. I just spent several weekends to dismantle the storage trunk on my Monterey and build it new again. The MDF board was pulp and the OSB floor was soggy. NOT exterior grade products. All in all I like this camper. It looks like they've taken all the good of Coleman and recycled it. Right down to the galley....
Just like my 89 coleman popup, just more modern.
Great review & tour of product. Tks.
I love the pop up camper, it is better then the previous ones that are built
I own one of these and it performs great!
I like that guy in the back was I the only one waving back at him lol
+Zakary Smiley (ZHSmiley) Most likely.
Zakary Smiley yh
great job thx for information really good 👍🏼👍🏼
I really like this camper and your videos Thank you
Haha the guy in the back ground waving 😂😂😂😂😂😂
great job describing the features,
Oh I'm getting one of those trailers they are amazing but yet so simple great presentation kudos
Nice presentation and nice pop up as well.
This is a nice pop up , I’d love to take this to the Mohave
Nice camper but it needs a solar panel on the roof and a storage battery. 8)
thanks your video is fantastic
Awesome, I love it!
Greetings from Bob Ledford's Adventure Motorhomes in Greer, SC!
What, pray tell, is a "crispy"?? Wait. is that a T.J.S reference??
very practical
Great presentation and demo man! Awesome job! And that IS a great popup!
Nice camper. Love the electric roof. we have some awesome campers in Aus but no electric roofs all wind up. Mines a wind up. My only issue with this camper is the non tinted windows, i woundn't have bought mine if it wasn't tinted.
has anyone who has commented purchased one of these? I can not find any reviews
I love your pop up trailer,it is beautiful
Just an awesome video awesome trailer
I have an Air Opus - I think it is the best Camper Trailor on the market today
This guy is a professional. I’d not only buy a Summerset, but specifically from this man.
I've camped with a pop up out in Ocotillo Wells, CA. Have fabric fkr6a side and not hard all the way around plan SUCKS when it's windy.
All you hear is it blowing all night
one of the best trailers around. If you happen to be in need of shifting to a new position few metres away, you can move without having to keep everything and re-deploy.
Beautiful Stuff
Excellent review
WOWWWWWWW...I LOVE THIS
This guy is a pro.
😃 👍 Espectacular muy bien 👍 😃
amazing
Thinking one day i'll upgrade my tent to a popup and tis model looks nice. I'm hoping one day that a company will put some sort of mylar material inside the tent bunks to cut down on the greenhouse effect when it is sunny out. There are wraps to put over the bunks but that is just another step. Additionally we put up reflectix panels to keep the bunks warmer/cooler and have more privacy from the light shining through in my folks jayco hybrid.
You are an excellent salesman
Our Coleman pop up camper was a great camper
These new Pop Ups have heated beds now. 👍 Check out new Opus off road pop ups. Pretty cool.
It may have been possibly a rumor that the man waving as he drove away in the RV actually stole it. He was rumored to have been on his way to somewhere to go do something.
nice video good job
Had me at, grad a beer...
Solid!!! Engineering!
What do you have in a used tandem trailer with pop outs?
Thanks a lot for this video it was very helpful 😊 I went to a dealer to look at some pop ups and he didn't seem interested in my weight limit or selling me a pop up camper 😒🙄
Let us know if we can help further! 1-800-899-6676
The intro picture is of a toy hauler, but this video is of a different model!
Most of what you said I had in my 1986 Colman pop up. Has that company bought the Colman designs and added to them ???
Lol the MT tires on this thing...nice pop up regardless
That camper is a lot like my 2001 Coleman Santa Fe. I really like my camper. All the great stuff about it they have on this camper.
How does it do against strong winds when its opened
That thing has several features identical to my ‘06 Fleetwood Santa Fe like the bunk supports and slides, whiffletree lift with brake, roof supports, galley looks exactly the same with the same lift system and sink. In fact, the interior might BE my trailer except for different upholstery.
Didn’t Somerset buy Fleetwood Folding Trailers when they closed up shop?
Our old 90s dutchman had a switch like that.
I live in SE Louisiana and it doesn't come with air? You have to purchase that as an upgrade. You must not know how hot it gets down here in the summertime
Hey Steve, whoever lowered the roof forgot to get the clip bungee out of the way. 1:00 Why do you have snow tires on a popup? Also, that slid-out step is really cheap. They warp and eventually break, and they are very slippery when slightly damp; the one on my Coleman is a full-on leg-breaker. Also, the power roof lift is totally dog-slow. The dinette seat metal framework is a real plus. Most other popups are 3/4" pine which eventually falls apart. Somebody was thinking. And, where are the side window curtains and the bed-wing privacy curtains? Optional extras?
enjoyable video, personable "sales" guy! Good job.
I've got an 08 Fleetwood/Coleman E1. It looks so similar to this. Though wish mine had auto up/down as I dislike raising it by hand. I've made some mods here and there and now am looking into having a winch lift installed to make things a bit easier on the family and myself. I looked at these Somersets new, pricey. Bought a mint used Fleetwood before Coleman took them back into their fold and am happy with it albeit the odd thing here and there. Way better quality than other brands. We looked and imo those other brands are junkier.
C Steele get yourself a 18v cordless drill and an adapter that fits your crank. Probably this one: Ultra-Fab Products 48-979071 Ultra T-Slot Drill Attachment for Scissor Jack www.amazon.com/dp/B00Q6ISG4M?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
Certainly will raise the roof faster than in this video! Bonus: it does the stabilizers too.
Great video, my only fear with a tent or a pop up camper is bears 😬 I ain’t quite as adventurous as I once was.
This is where the 44 magnum revolver comes in.
Our Coleman pop-up was the best!
Shares a lot of tech from my old star craft top system and brake and all
Yea but can I put a side by side on top?
Yes I did
I clicked this because I love tents.
Sold might not work great but she looks pretty damn cool am I right
call for price. They dont want to scare you away. I had an Aliner it was awesome. Wish I still had it
Mount Comfort RV That makes sense
Can a newer Honda Odyssey pull this thing? I'm still trying to understand payload and towing capacity.
How did you set up the door?
Do those bed ends stay like that or is there a way to tighten up canvas? That would blow around so badly
looks great...what about in a rain storm...are those sides gonna keep rain out?? thanks
You bet they do.
Does it have a refrigerator? Are the speakers bluetooth compatible?
Do u make this with tolits and toy hauler
Llorando cuando
Well when you come out with leak proof and rot proof canvas. That's when you'll have Somthing👍👍
J'aime beaucoup le campigne
