    I really enjoyed living out of my aliner for a few months, so this was awesome to reminisce on those times!!

    The way the A-Liner goes together and how quickly it does is just amazing to me, if I ever got a trailer that would certainly be the one.

      I agree. It’s very easy and satisfying to pop up, even for a 5 minute break on the road!

      Yes, it is easy except in windy conditions, in which case, you need to buy the wind kit.

    The last one had everything you need. Well worth the money.

      There isn't 1 A-liner worth anywhere near what they're asking for them. My little jayco that was 12,900 in 2017. Is bye far and away more comfortable has everything needed. Is easier to step up. And can go anywhere I've wanted to take it. I had a jeep guy tell me 1 time he's never seen anyone pull a camper up there.

    I just retired and I've never been trailer camping before. I'm shopping for an A-Liner now and considering a 2023 Ranger 12 still on a sales lot. I'm watching every A-Liner video I can find. I'd rather have portable propane stove and cassette toilet to put where I want according to the weather and whether there are neighbors. Curtained area works for me. I think the microwave is useless unless you bring a generator. I'll prob pull it out and use the space for storage. I'm making lists of useful mods and items to have on hand. I think an off-road elec bike would be handy. Extra solar panels.

      Solar power would run the microwave, not sure how that’s a waste of space

    Aliner should bring back the folding truck camper.

    We have looked at the A-Liners in the past. We liked the last one; however, it had a nice price tag too. At that price, there are quite a few more options to consider.

    • @Down2Mob
      @Down2Mob  7 месяцев назад +1

      You are correct garret! I think the lower end models make more sense because like you said, there are a lot of options at the higher price point

    Potatohead had an A-liner he could stealth camp in. Not sure if this works for all A-liners, but he could enter his in the down position and there was enough room to sleep. So it just looked like a truck and trailer parked, not that there was somebody inside camping.

    • @michaelplunkett8059

      He must have slept on the floor. No sink, no stove. There is less than a foot between cushions and fold down panels.

    We owned a 2020 Aliner. Like a lot of RV's it was amazing to see all the poor quality of work. In your video, we could see the Victron unit sloppily wired, what looks like 110V wiring stapled to the wall and shavings of ?? inside the cabinet. We had the same fridge as shown in the video and it was absolutely worthless (aware this is a Dometic issue but I would have thought Aliner would have known this based on many comments from users) Replaced ours with a 12V compressor fridge. Our roof aluminum sides were replaced after our very first camping trip. Each camping trip resulted in screws appearing on the floor never to find where they came from. Couldn't camp one night due to the high winds as we had to lower the roof for safety. In hindsight, the base model Scout model is their best model. Best to DIY all the things you want in your Aliner yourself and know they are done correctly and installed neatly.

    I have the Aliner classic with the off-road package and soft sided dormers. The soft sides add a lot more windows and air flow. If it’s cold I drop the dormers , and less space to heat. The outside shower with a pop up shower tent , and toilet works great for me. Keeps the odor and humidity outside where it belongs.

    Damn, what an awesome design...i may have to turn my M1 trailer into an A liner, looks like it would be a lot easier than building a box onto it.

    Those were nice! I'm surprised that you didn't look at the suspension on the more off-road A liners, to see if they beefed them up any!!

    • @willdrivesu7914
      @willdrivesu7914 7 месяцев назад +3

      Yeah, that's what I was thinking....you can buy a 32 foot trailer with all the bells and whistles for half that price. Slap the off road tag on something and you can really inflate the price on stuff. It doesn't even have proper off roading suspension, they just put on aggressive wheels and tires and call it off road, lol

    What I like about the extra slide outs being almost flat you could figure a way to add a woodstove

  • @randomspirit

    The problem with that shower is that you'd have to take the table down to use the shower and then get it all dry before you pack it away to set up the table again, which I think would be a PITA. Other than that, I like the Evolution the best, but the shower configuration is the reason I'll pass on it. I want a shower, but it needs to be more convenient.

    The pop outs on the Aliner are called Domers. The composite material is great Star-board which is big in the Marina industry. Yet that other material is some a different composite?

    I used to own a 2006 Scout Aliner ... only 900 lbs. bought an used Class B with a built-in shower and bathroom. Be careful how much money you spend because the competition can provide more features for the same price.

    I really like the Aliner design BUT…where is the independent suspension for actual off-roading? Where’s the articulating hitch? For those higher priced models that stuff should be included..I’d also like to see them have a folding top rack from the side like some of the Aussie trailers. It’d block your inside view from left side but being able to carry kayaks/bicycles low and out of the wind while going down the road would awesome.
