    Dentists have always scolded me about my oral hygiene , sometimes harshly, and it made me hate going to the dentist. I have an appointment now for the first time in a long time (also not having health insurance was an issue), and I'm nervous...I don't want the dentist yelling at me!!

      Well done taking that step and booking an appointment. Good luck, and be sure to come back to let us know how you get on.

    I haven't visited the Dentist since I was a kid around 8-10 years old, last time I went to clean my mouth and the Dentist was scraping the gums underneath my teeth on my lower jaw, it was painful and there was a lot of blood, it literally felt like he was digging into my gums, I remembered my mouth tasted like Blood and Metal afterwards I remembered I had to rinse my mouth, but I don't remember anything before or after all of that. I haven't visited the Dentist since, because my parent's are the type of people who would only go to the Doctor if they feel pain that consists or cannot be ignored and because money doesn't grow on trees. Btw I wouldn't say that I have a phobia, but I don't like to step foot in Medical Institutions, it makes me feel very uncomfortable.

    I had mine out in hospital under anaesthetic and I was terrified as well but I went through with it the surgeon basically took out 10-11 teeth and said my gums are actually strong.... I am glad I did it because it has weighed me down for years and pain side it's not that bad voyage stitches as well that will dissolve I just have to get false ones and filling work done next 🙄🙄🙄 but it's the tooth pulling part I didn't like to be honest the fear was bigger than what it was too.....

    Is there a recognised phobia/anxiety associated with teeth specifically. i.e. a fear of something bad happening to your teeth which is not likely. I worry and panic about my oral health enormously, its an issue that I have had to explain to my dentist/orthodontist, and so go to the dentist much more than normal people to help me feel more secure about my teeth! And I can't find information about symptoms like these anywhere. I hope I am not alone!

    Im going for a filling and not having sedation for the first time. Im petrified. The tooth is very sensitive to hot and cold and he still squirted it with water and air causing me to jump in pain so my regained trust has been shaken already. Ive been given 2mg of diazepam but i dont think this is going to help.

    Could you make a video about the reliability of the Sonicare toothbrushes? After my new DiamondClean 9000 died after only 10 days I read a lot of negative feedback about the Sonicare products. Super disappointing since they’re so expensive and heavily advertised as the best electric toothbrushes available.

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  2 года назад

      Interesting request. To be honest it is a tricky one to cover correctly. Open to suggestions on how we can, but the problems/issues we have is acquiring enough unbiased data to really comment on the reliability.
      Anecdotally, we find Oral-B & Sonicare to be more reliable than other brands, but we do see our fair share of complaints about these major brands too.
      Just because a few people have issues, doesn't mean everyone does and often people are more likely to complain about a product than they are to praise it. So for every 10 negative reviews, how many users are happy and have had no issues?
      I do trust that the retailer or Sonicare replaced your brush seeing as it failed so soon?

      @thisismyalias 2 года назад

      @@ElectricTeeth You are probably right, though the amount of complaints about Sonicare vs. Oral-B IO seem disproportional to me. I had the chance to give the toothbrush back and I now consider giving it another chance. Thank‘s a lot for your answer, I find your videos very informative and well done.

    The reason I hate the dentist so much is because I remember when I was super young they would say you’re only going to feel a tiny poke and then they would stab me with white felt like a knife inside my mouth and then they were doing again to other times
    Any advice so I can overcome my fear?!

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  Год назад +2

      Sorry to read this. As per this video really, just talk to the dentist and have them show you tools and touch your teeth, gums etc and prove that there need not be lots of pain.

    Is there any situation in which you would take your mask off so the patient can see your face. Is that even feasible in this world. Pre Covid dentists were trained to take their masks off and perhaps even their lab coats to reduce patient anxiety. Where did that go?

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  2 года назад

      Typically they will be kept on for hygiene reasons. However, if you speak to your dental provider it is possible exceptions can be made.

    • @jessman8597
      @jessman8597 2 года назад +1

      @@ElectricTeeth I'm curious if you would make exceptions. If not, you probably shouldn't be doing this video. Masks are seen as a threat. Threatening a patient is not a good way to reduce anxiety. Show your face, and then I know you have nothing to hide. Why aren't dentists talking about this? That was standard a few years ago.

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  2 года назад +1

      There are different situations where as mask is and is not appropriate. If chatting, before or after a treatment then yes, masks off are absolutely fine, be this in the chair or in the waiting room etc.
      However with certain treatments a mask is more necessary to prevent bacteria transfer and contamination and other associated risks related to carrying out medical treatments.
