Orthodontic treatment is a big step for many people due to the costs involved. Many ppl put the treatments off because they simply cannot afford it, but when they come to a stage in life when they can afford it then it becomes a big deal in a positive way. Your smile can have a significant impact on a person's confidence.
Notes from a longtime Invisalign-er... - Yes, they are sore at first. Even more so if you’ve had new gaps shaved/formed. That will wear off within a few weeks! - Easiest way to remove = Ease the backs on each side with a gentle wiggle!...then unclip the fronts. - Much as it feels like it at first, you will not rip your entire gum line out with the aligner! - No tray will feel any worse than the first shocker! - No nails...use kitchen roll to get a good grip on them! Then use the towel to bite down on...if you have no squishies! - It’ll be worth it in the end! Hope this helps anyone!
Great tips. What do you mean by "it feels like you will rip your entire gumline out"? Did you mean teeth? Or do the aligners graze your gums as you're taking them out?
@@petergriffinson1907 Only use Tylenol or other meds with the same main ingredient as Tylenol (Acetaminophen). Motrin and other brands containing ibuprofen or (NSAID) will slow down teeth movement due to their anti-inflammatory properties.
I needed attachments on all my teeth because I had an open bite. Invisalign is amazing it straighten my teeth and closed my open bite after 13 months. The treatment was expensive ($5500) but my insurance covered 2500 and I paid the rest out of pocket but this was the best investment ever. My teeth are straight and my smile is amazing and my self esteem and self confidence is at 100%.
I'll give you some tips. 1- Best relief is keeping ice cold water in your mouth specificaly wherever is most itchy. Huge relief!!! 2- Pick a side and pull them out from the inner-side of your mouth on your wisdom teeth, and it easily peels off of your teeth. 3- Try to keep ur upper and lower jaw seperated, the less ur trays touch each other, the less u feel ur teeth. I know it is kind of tough but by biting ur trays u make ur teeth and gum more alert and sensitive against pain. Not letting ur trays touch each other helps pretending that they r not there. 4- In my case, on the 4th day (after the 3rd day of teeth, jaw and head aches) I realized it started to cause more pain to not to have them on. So try to keep them on as long as u can. 5- Don't try to give your teeth a moment of relief by taking your trays out even for one second because your teeth lean more on going to where they were rather than stay where they r. So you would cause urself longer periods of pain in return of a second of relief. Peace ✌️ I hope ur experience is less painful and annoying than mine.
I've had my 1st tray in for a week now. Was uncomfortable at first but now if just feels like I have plastic in my mouth. I have 14 trays that I change every 10 days. This video was very informative. Thank you
Thank you for your excellent video. I also had braces for 3 yrs when I was in Jr high. Now, at 70 yrs, (never to late) my bite is off and lower front teeth crowded. I’m on week 5 of 36 trays. I can tell a difference already. Thank you again…and you’re right, chewy’s does help with tenderness.
Very useful and instructive video. I am 61 years old and have lived my whole life with crooked teeth and was only told last week by my dentist that it would be possible to realign with Invisalign. This is the first time I have been offered this treatment and I had assumed that they had gone to far (I have two very sticky out incisors) as well as missing teeth and teeth with very large restorations. I have booked a scan for a couple of weeks time. It's a big commitment financially and the practicallity of the added cleaning and interuption of normal eating, drinking and snacking wories me. Thank you for the video.
I’m 56 and on week 4. The cleaning you get used to. The eating you get used to. I wear mine about 21 hrs a day and it’s fine. Honestly so far it’s worth it for the hassle.
@@DEEJAYNH10 yes! I’ve had mine in for nearly 6 weeks and they are already moving. I have 20 weeks to go. My best friend has finished her course and we both agree it worked great. I have no complaints so far.
My first aligners are coming in 2-3 weeks. There have been some tips from dentists for Invisalign to work better, rub the parts with the attachments after putting the retainer on with your fingers to have a better fit.
I have 22 attachments. My Invisalign fits so tight there’s no need to rub the attachments. Chewier have definitely been the way to make them fit better for me. I don’t struggle with them gripping my teeth at all, which seems like rubbing the attachments would do. I need them to more tightly fit the gap at the bottom to more quickly move my teeth.
I have been using Invisalign for 8 months now. The best and fastest way to clean the aligners, is actually with a electric toothbrush and with soap. I use the same brush for my teeth and the aligners. After cleaning my teeth I clean the aligners and that way im also cleaning the brush itself.
I’m 55 and always hated my teeth. Finally getting Invisalign in a few weeks and I’ll deal with the inconvenience. Friends say you might lose weight too if you’re a snack fiend 👍🏼😂
The weight loss thing is true. Some people have called it the Invisalign Diet. I got mine yesterday, but I can see why people lose weight (taking them out is difficult, you have to wear them for 22 out of 24 hours a day, you have to take them out every time you eat or drink anything that isn’t water).
You will lose weight because you will snack less. You are supposed to have your Invisalign in for at least 22 hours a day, so it is better to eat bigger meals. Warning: The first time you accidentally bite down hard on your aligners it may hurt alot.
I’m on my 3rd day of Invisalign and have 6 attachments. What sucks the most for me is the headache I get but it has gotten better since day 1 the attachments do feel weird when not wearing the aligners. The discomfort in my mouth is annoying but the headache is what sucks the most
Couple extra tips from someone 7 months into Invisalign. -Book a 3 monthly hygienist appointment until finished. -Buy Steradent and soak them in the morning whilst you shower. They never stain and require little to no brushing. -keep the previous set of trays when you swap, I lost mine and it took 4+ weeks for the new ones to arrive. -Use regenerate enamel repair toothpaste, expensive but was recommended by the dentist. -After brushing use interdental brushes (get various sizes as gaps will vary throughout treatment) and use a fluoride based mouthwash. -You can leave them out for a whole evening if you go out drinking, don't make this a regular thing as it can lead to do delays. Another thing the dentist said is fine to do. -If you find the trays aren't fitting quite right then spend a few days using the chewie and you should be back on track.
Honestly it doesn’t hurt too much for me. It’s just kind of a pain having to take them and brush your teeth every time you want to eat something. Especially if you’re not home. From what’s I’ve heard from friends, still way better than normal braces though so I’m happy with it.
Just got my first tray I’ve had it in for over 12 hours now. I felt the most pain (which wasn’t a lot) in the first couple hours but after that I don’t feel pain unless I put them back on after eating. Good luck to all my invisaligners🦷
I got the comprehensive plan (105 weeks) in Brazil for U$2.2K in a top dental clinic because we have so many dentists here.... 3K pounds for 14 weeks is insane!
I really wanted to get Invisalign until one orthodontist made my parents not get it, she said people often take it off too much, takes longer than normal braces and u have to brush after every food. I now have normal braces and completely regret not getting Invisalign instead, the discomfort is way worse due to the metals pushing against my cheeks and I’m unable to chew food due to the gap they put between my bottom and top teeth. It’s not the pain that bothers me it’s the fact that I literally can’t chew my food cause my teeth won’t crush anything and it’s the worse feeling ever and it’s way too uncomfortable. I can’t imagine living like this for 2 years so if y’all are trying to pick I’d say go with the Invisalign.
I had the same issue when I got my braces last year, I went to the dentist the next day and told them I can’t chew my food, please fix it. And they took off one of my back brackets and put it back in, in a different spot. Which really helped because otherwise I would have told them to take them off completely lol. The dentist then encouraged me to get Invisalign 7 months into my treatment which I agreed to since it was covered, and I had an engagement party and wanted my brackets off. On tray 3 of 7 and I’m still getting used to my smile. The attachments make my smile look a little weird so I’m hoping to love my smile once I’m completely done with my trays and have them removed. Hopefully you are more used to your braces by now.
@@rosebon9875 I had braces in my teenage years. Now I have Invisalign. I prefer Invisalign because when you go out on a date you can take them off and thats it. Also you just have to be disciplined to wear them all the time, which you get used to
I have Invisalign and they still cause soreness when chewing food. That does not go away with Invisalign. Your teeth are being moved and that’s why it can be painful to chew even relatively soft food. I’ve worn traditional braces before and prefer them. Invisalign takes a major time commitment every day due to cleaning aligner trays every time you remove them to eat and cleaning the aligners, and then brushing and flossing your teeth (which usually have small chunks of food due to attachments that trap food) each and every time you eat. I’ve eliminated lunch. No more snacks or drinks between meals. Also there is more plaque build up with Invisalign, which can turn into tarter. So avoiding mouthwashes with sodium fluoride is important because that mineral promotes formation of tarter, per my ortho. There are other downsides to Invisalign such as the dark triangles that often form between teeth. And they are not truly invisible if you have attachments in front. Not to mention they cause a lisp when you speak. I regret going the Invisalign route.
Im on my 4th tray of 38... My first 3 trays I have no attachments. But when I went in to grab the next set of trays, they told me I needed attachment i have like 12-16 of them. I have a tough time taking my trays with these new attachments. But I'm so excited 😁 to be going through the process 🙌. Age 33 finally got good insurance with a good job to get my teeth straight. Eating for the first time with attachments was so frustrating. It felt weird 😕. For now I only eat twice a day. Morning and afternoon. Its extra work maintaining my teeth now. But its definitely manageable.
I found your youtube channel right on time. I just purchased a Sonicare 7500 after being an Oral-B electric toothbrush person for the past 11 years. And, your insightful videos made me feel better about that huge transistion. And, yes, switching from one brand to the other is HUGE! Now, I'm thinking of getting Invisalign ...and here you are with a video. Again, right on time. Thank you, Jon!
So pleased I can help Ellis. Any questions, you know where to find me & the Electric Teeth team. How are you finding the Sonicare in comparison to Oral-B?
I’m on my second week and it hasn’t been as nearly as painful as I thought it would be. Just some discomfort because of the teeth moving about, but not painful.
Great video! I’m on tray 16 of 21, changing trays weekly. I didn’t need attachments and I experienced so much discomfort with my first tray that I wish I had watched a video like this before starting my journey, because the chewies are a lifesaver. I haven’t had any discomfort since tray 2. And I put mine in at night which helps them settle
Thanks for this. I am in my first tray and I almost feel like I made a mistake because it's so uncomfortable in my mouth. But when I see people like you who have done it I am encouraged.
@@blisa4real1 no problem! I definitely recommend the chewies, which I purchased on Amazon, and mouthwash (I use Dr. Tichenors mouthwash) for any sores or scrapes on the gums or cheeks. This helped me a ton! But I think putting them in at night helped me the most
@@kpeeskii thank you so much. Yes my mouth is full of so many sores and I am currently miserable. I will order the mouth wash and chewie and I just want this phase to be over. Also is it normal not to be able to close your mouth all the way? Does it improve over time? Let's just say the initial experience is not very pleasant. Sorry if I sound like I an wining lol!
@@blisa4real1 no worries! I had a ton of questions as well. And it’s normal for the teeth to feel like they’re out of alignment. Mine feels this way after each new tray, but feels “normal” after a few days. It’s just annoying in the beginning. It’s because you’re used to your mouth closing a certain way for so long, the Invisalign is basically saying this is all messed up and we need to fix this ASAP lol and good luck on your journey I’m excited for you!
Thank you for the video! Your experience sounds so similar to mine. Had very bad teeth as a child, got braces as a young teenager and 15-20 years later they moved back as I was never told about the importance of retainers - in fact, I only had retainers for a year after the braces were taken off. Now going for invisalign and looking forward to it, really glad to have watched your video!
Super informal video. I had braces as a teen for 18 months. Didn’t wear my retainers. Now little changes have came about in my smile. I started Invisalign a few weeks back to fix that. My Invisalign plan is 20 weeks. Crossing my fingers for no refinements. I like it so far. Very minimal pain in comparison to braces. Attachments feel odd, but I’m sure I will get used to it. I don’t recommend Invisalign for folks who need it longer than 6 months. 1. It really disrupts normal eating and drinking patterns. I hate having to brush my teeth so much! 2. I could see it becoming a nuisance after a long while. I have my mind set to complete this journey. If I had a year or more, I think my motivation to be compliant with aligners would go down. 3. Both my dentist and orthodontist say that Invisalign woks better for small changes. If you have a lot of work to get done, braces are the best way to achieve desired results. I shopped around my city before I decided on one orthodontist. I heard this info from several orthodontists. I hope this helps someone!
I am getting Invisalign in two weeks and this was very informative, thank you! I must say you are excellent at explaining! No waffle, stuttering or lack of pictures to back up your point. 👍
I’m on my first week and expect for them to hurt at first. Also drink water lots of water it feels so good. And don’t use toothpaste to wash them because they will be cloudy just use water and a toothbrush.
I'm about 5 days into my invisa treatment programme when watching this))) Thanks for this video so much, as it is actually a bigger challenge than I thought before I started!
Thanks for the information. I had braces in my early twenties and the orthodontist never said, you need to wear the retainer forever! I just got Invisalign through my dentist to fix the overbite and some crowding. 18 trays upper and lower and your video has helped. Taking them in the morning is we’re I find them to be the most difficult to remove!
@@1996599 I understood her comment. She said that her teeth are naturally so messed up that she has issues beyond superficial ones caused by them. I replied that I understand and I'm sorry, but we all have to pay for the same dental care. I paid $4,000 out of pocket for Invisalign, the same price she would have to pay. They don't make special Invisalign systems for people with especially messed up teeth or oral health issues. Moreover, her basic argument was that for people who have "horrible teeth placement and jaw bone misalignment", corrective procedures are a "basic human necessity". She has a damn snaggle tooth and an underbite, not ALS. Basic human necessities are water, air, shelter, and food, that's about it. I am sorry for her issues, and it does suck to have to use my brain over my heart when using these discussions (I am cognizant that I am doing so), but being guided by one's emotions is never the intelligent thing to do if our end goal is to do the most good for the most people. In no alternate reality is correcting misaligned teeth/jaws more important than providing shelter, food, water, etc. for people who need it. Fix my Acid Reflux for me, would you? My quality of life is shit because of it, thanks.
I've just started the process and I can say there's plenty of discomfort but I'd love to have my teeth aligned properly too...this is very good detailed information and please continue to share❤
In my fourth week out of a seventeen week treatment. I can see some change already. Watched this video before I started and I'm so glad I did - I wouldn't have known about the attachments (I have 9) had I not found your channel!
Great video! I just started my 23 weeks of aligner journey (19 trays, first 2 are changed biweekly, then weekly). I experienced a but of cramping in my jaw after about the 12 hour mark. I am still getting used to them, sometimes i just want to rip them out, especially as I have a cold, too. A lifesaver for me in the first 2 days were a little hook I bought on amazon that helped me removing the trays, especially the bottom. Now that my teeth started to move, it is easier to take them out.
Electric Teeth other aligner brands only include aligners and no attachments. It actually looks like Invisalign the best, since it include attachments that would help with the treatment and help hold the aligners
John: you and I share similarities. I also had braces whenever I was a kid, and I didn’t wear my retainer. At least, I wore it until it broke on the bottom half. Then, I didn’t wear either the bottom or the top. Before I had braces, I was told the roof of my mouth was pointed like as in the V. I had to have my drawer whitened on top and bottom before I could even have braces. No permanent teeth removed, however, and that was good. As per getting my wisdom teeth removed, several years ago now, some of my teeth had started to shift. Now, I’m looking at getting Invisalign, because I really don’t want to have to go back with metal braces. I still have a little bit of an overbite, but that’s OK. I’d like to get it corrected, though. I am a RUclips watcher who is blind, so audio descriptions really help me. I do not see at all, so again, any audio descriptions you have in this video will really help.
I am on my first tray and yes my mouth is very sore 😬 specially my upper pallet and inside of my cheeks. I too had braces when I was a teenager but my orthodontist never told me I had to have retainers forever. I only wore those for about a year as per his recommendation. Hoping to get the best out of this treatment.
I started today. Top row is 13 trays and bottom is 20 and my dentist warned me that it’s possible that 1 or 2 more are added. I can’t describe the feeling as pain, more like pressure and uncomfortable. The lisp makes me talk as little as possible and taking them in and out to eat is something to get used to.
Got my attachments yesterday, you helped me realize I’m not the only person with the slight pain, sucking cheeks, and the most annoying of all... feeling like the attachments are gonna fall out while eating.
Glad I could help. I am now a few more weeks in and the fear of the attachments has pretty much gone. I still check occasionally but I now eat normally with little fear. Although I haven't chomped into an apple. Cut it up into smaller pieces.
im starting my treatment soon i just paid today.... i hope i dont regret it. they said i can take em out before i eat as long as i floss and put em back in for 22 hrs a day....
@@markeetaroane3 my cheek was sore for a day, the white lines are still there but now the pain is gone. the next pain im dealing with his soreness in my gums on my left tooth in the way back. i feel my teeth are slowly shifting which is what you're suppose to feel to know that it is working. worst pain i felt in my teeth in awhile, felt like my wisdom tooth was removed. can't bite on that side anymore, so far it's been day 2 of my 4th tray and i still feel pain not as much as the day before. hard to sleep, wonder if i used tooth numbing cream would that help just a little bit?
Hi Vaishnavi, total kharch kiti ahe? Aani RETAINERS kiti varsh ghalave lagtat treatment samplyavar? Forever tar nahi na?☹ I'm considering this treatment. Please reply. Thank you🙏
Great video! Yes, they elegantly don’t disclose the attachments they need to use. I had 8 or so, right in the front. Finished all 14 trays (2 weeks for each set). It’s not 100% yet and we will do apparently some 10-12 trays or so more with LESS attachments on a shorter cycle. The attachments got removed. Didn’t feel uncomfortable to have them removed I must say … but I am a patient which falls asleep on the dentist chair anyways 😆 Very informative video - keep it up!
I'm on my second set now. My case is pretty extreme. I'm going to have to go through 39 sets. I calculated the time and it seems I'll be wearing these for around 15 months.
Use you nails like your scraping food off your teeth on the far back parts of the aligners. I was told to take them off from back to front of your mouth at my orthodontist appointment. They let me practice a little. The back parts are easy to take off but the thin teeth in the front are somewhat hard to take off sometimes.
Hi! Just having a look through Invisalign videos now...started mine 4 years ago. I don’t mean to scare you saying that, but the ‘six month smile’ adverts are if there’s barely any adjustment required. But...trust me, by the second tray it will start getting easier. The first tray took ages to remove and eating was painful. Trying to talk was interesting too. I hear you!
Thank you for this video. I have learned a few things from it. A few weeks ago, I went to a consultation, some measurements of my teeth were made also and examination. My teeth were found to have various issues with them. Invisalign was given as an option for me, but my treatment period was already estimated to be 2 years. Braces were also given as a option, but the orthodontist said I would "Be breaking the wiring" every week with the issues I have. I go for my second appointment tomorrow for more measurements and such. P.S. forgot to mention but Jaw Surgery was also mentioned. The orthodontist said that would be the only way for 100% perfection, but I am hoping the Invisalign can get as close to 100% as possible. I can live with my teeth not being 100% "perfect" as long as they are better than currently. If Jaw surgery is necessary though, I would consider it down the road.
I’ve had my Invisalign 1st tray for 2 weeks. I’m supposed to change to tray 2 today however, I’m not able to get the bottom one to fit over my back molars. Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks!🤐
Using the chewies did create a weird comfortable pain but even more odd my gums started to itch while using them. It became addictive because biting on the chewie was almost like scratching a somewhat low level painful itch. It has to be a physiological thing...but my gums must've reacted from the movement.
I understand the kind of comfortable pain when it comes to teeth! I'll be getting my braces in a few weeks and am very nervous, your videos are really informative and calming. Thank you!
Thanks so much for this, it's really helped me. I'm getting my trays fitted today and it's hard to find videos from people that aren't associated with Invisalign. I've bought some mouth gel in anticipation of getting sore gums and I've made sure I have some paracetamol to help with any initial pain. I'm going to watch Part 2 now - thanks again
Im on day 4 of invisalign. And to be honest, it hasnt been so bad. My teeth were slightly tender on day 2. But nothing that required any pain relief. The only thing that i find frustrating is the pressure. So i just chow down on the chewie for 10 mins and it really eases it. 👍 So excited for the next few months to finally get the teeth ive longed for.
@@ecuterocks6704 ive been brushing them every time i eat. I carry a toothbrush, paste and floss with me but I've stopped snacking which is a good thing. My teeth have never been so white from all the cleaning 😂. However my dentist did say that if i cant brush them if im out, to just rinse with water then brush as soon as i can.
Thank you for the video.I’m getting Invisalign in a few weeks I had regular braces when I was 13 and I’m 65 now looking forward to not having to floss three times a day.
Thank you for all this information I get mine in a couple weeks and your video is a massive help! I really hated having braces and didn't want them again. I had actually had no idea they put those attachments on your teeth also. Thank you for all the info!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience, i m in my first 24 hrs of my invisaligners and i almost got to the point to ask my dentist to take them off since i was thinking the discomfort is way too much specially due to those sharp edges of plates on the teeth , causing irritation on my inner top lip & bottom lip... so hard to eat and chew food as the sharp edges goes into my lips ... but i thought it has been something wrong with my aligners. But watching this helped to calm down a lot so thank you!
Wow dont think 14 weeks will be enough. I'm coming upto 5 months and have been impressed with the changes so far but like you said everyone is different.
I had 20 attachments lol, the attachment removal process was the worst out of the whole Invisalign experience. I never experienced any pain or discomfort during though.
Embrace it. The first week or so will be tough, but it gets easier. My new video (10 weeks in) will be going live next week, right around the time you get yours. Spoiler, you get used to them and they are not that bad. Seeing the progress will make it worth while.
Hi can i just ask do the stick that play dough thing in your mouth to get a shape its called a mold i think i saw somewhere for invislign they just do an xray
Excellent video. I’m three days in and experiencing everything you said. I will add that when you take the aligner out to eat your teeth feel sensitive.
Invisalign i had first with a general dentist and second time round was braces with an Orthodontist. The general dentist really didn't do my invisalign well and even missed pathology, i had so many problems after. Which is when i found an Orthodontist and my goodness the difference in their knowledge was shocking and my experience was so much better the second time round and that was with fixed braces. Wish i knew the difference between these two professions. Please find an Orthodontist, don't make my mistake
This was very helpful! My orthodontist told me that I’ll be getting my braces removed on December and then I’ll be using Invisalign to speed the treatment process, im so excited!
I just got my Invisalign in today and that slight comfort after the pain I feel as well. I feel this constant pain in my lower teeth and if I put pressure on it the pain will soon subside and is will be comfortable. Idh how that works but it does :)
I got Invisalign a few days ago as well, but I'm really struggling so far. The trays themselves aren't that uncomfortable, but I find that I'm constantly aware of how they're touching, which is leading to a lot of anxiety. Are you seeing anything similar?
OMG thank God tour video was the first one that come up on RUclips when I started my research. You explain very clear and very detailed. A hemorrhage of thanks! 😁
I'm on my first day of my first try. And I'm kinda regretting it because it's so uncomfortable and painful. But your video and other people's comments gave me peace of mind. Thank you!
hello!!! i am on day ten too! and I have been feeling the same ! a bit regretful with my headaches etc..... nice to hear other people feeling the same way and yes it gives a bit of peace knowing others r feeling the same :)
Im 14 or 15 weeks in of total 19 weeks. And the pain is not a problem at all. U feel a little sor and thats all..i dont take them out at all when i drink. But i floss every evening..
@@ElectricTeeth my 19 weeks have passed..not completely satisfied yet. So we are probably gonna continue over the summer. I live in sweden for the record☺
Thank you for posting this. A lot of great information that I didn't consider. Having to calculate when I'm eating and all the cleaning would actually keep me from mindlessly snacking.
I found th video very helpful. Thanks for doing it. I get mine in 2wks. Obviously I am a little apprehensive that they are going to work. The cost is about $6000 in America.
I just got my trays today. They are so hard to take out, to the point my teeth hurt as I was tugging at the tray. It's all those attachments (I have seven on top and seven on bottom) that make the trays hard to get out. You have to pull the tray outward over the attachments and then pull the tray off, except that the trays aren't exactly flexible enough to easily pull outward to clear the attachments. Also, I was told the attachments do not adhere as well to porcelain crowns, so I'm fearful of detaching them as I'm trying to pull off the tray. Anyway, thanks for this informative video. I hope I can get through the next 15 months.
It will get easier. Within a few days it will seem more straightforward and easier to remove. I wasn't aware of there being less adherence to porcelain crowns. I was told if one attachment comes off, it isn't usually a big issue. Just to let them know which attachment came off and then the dentist will advise if it needs to be replaced or not.
Oh and I loved the pressure of them. But I hate the feeling of the attachments on the inside of my lip. Makes eating unpleasant. But I guess eating less will be another benefit :D
Hi Sarah. The discomfort gets much better. The tissues in the mouth toughen up and within a week or so you will have gotten used to them. I don't even think about them now.
Right off the bat if your a skinny person like me these will cause you to lose weight you cant afford. Do you know how stressful it is taking these in and out every time you eat or drink something other than water. Especially when your working. Absolute pain in the ass. And im only 4 days into my first set
This was a very helpful and reassuring video!! I just had my 1st tray less than 24 hours ago, I was worried bc of all the invisaligh journey videos I saw saying thats the 1st 3days are super painful and uncomfortable. Actually I'm feeling fine and just getting used to these things in my mouth. My teeth are sensitive upon chewing/eating, its a hassle to remove them before eating and having a whole routine of flossing, brushing and mouthwashing right after each meal/drink. Other than that its not as dramatic as some make it sound like ! (i also had braces as a teenager and i had to undergo multiple orthodontic treatments so it might explain why its not a biggie for me)
Same here, glad i read this comment as i thought i'm not fitting the trays tightly, i'm 24 hours into Invisalign now and i'm so surprised i don't feel the pain as much as most others complained in almost all the youtube videos, except that it does feel a little uncomfortable while removing the trays before eating and putting them back again after eating, and the tightness right before and after but that only lasts for less than 5 minutes. I guess the little hook does help removing the trays a lot easier too. As for brushing it's not an issue to me because i'm so used to brushing my teeth frequently daily to keep them clean and white (the least i could do to compensate for the crooked teeth i've been having since teenage), literally almost after every meal and definitely after black coffee (i'm a heavy coffee drinker). So far it's not as dramatic as many others claim, i hope i'm one of the lucky ones who don't feel that much of pain at the initial stage!
You are right. Back to 25 years , I was do metal brace and the doctor said I needed to wear the retenor while sleeping. However, As I have remembered, the doctor did not say I need to wear it for the rest of my life so I did wear it not long enough and now you know what is happening haha.... I might be too young as well at that time, might not catch everything Doctor instructed (just May be)
The chewy looks like a great idea. When I would go in once a month to get my braces tightened, my ortho told me to go and eat a bagel after the tightening, and this helped in loosening the teeth after the tightening, to reduce any pain and pressure after... it actually worked for me.

Orthodontic treatment is a big step for many people due to the costs involved. Many ppl put the treatments off because they simply cannot afford it, but when they come to a stage in life when they can afford it then it becomes a big deal in a positive way. Your smile can have a significant impact on a person's confidence.
It is a bit cultural aswell. In the US insecurities about your teeth are much more common than in Europe.

I needed attachments on all my teeth because I had an open bite. Invisalign is amazing it straighten my teeth and closed my open bite after 13 months. The treatment was expensive ($5500) but my insurance covered 2500 and I paid the rest out of pocket but this was the best investment ever. My teeth are straight and my smile is amazing and my self esteem and self confidence is at 100%.
Wonderful to read this. 😁
Glad I seen your comment. I’m in Tampa too and honestly I was about to end it all cause of the pain but I really want my open bit closed.
Did you take it out when you eat?
Damn happy for you, my insurance covered nothing so I’ll be having to pay out of pocket😭 I’m saving up rn
Treatments in India are quite affordable; I paid less than $500 for my aligners of the 14-week set from a reputable, large medical center.
One week into invisalign, just switched out my first tray and I already see some slight improvements.
Meaning of first tray?
First tray = the brace
You replace the tray/brace regularly to move the teeth.
Never too late for braces. I have head of someone in their 80's having them.

I am pleased the video helped.

My first aligners are coming in 2-3 weeks. There have been some tips from dentists for Invisalign to work better, rub the parts with the attachments after putting the retainer on with your fingers to have a better fit.
How’s it going?
People usually compensate by eating more at each meal. 😊 Congrats on starting your treatment.
You will lose weight because you will snack less. You are supposed to have your Invisalign in for at least 22 hours a day, so it is better to eat bigger meals. Warning: The first time you accidentally bite down hard on your aligners it may hurt alot.
It helped me stop biting my nails, even after my treatment was done I never got the urge to bite my nails again.
❤😂❤Are you happy with the results??
@@DG-lp4fs wait so I should book my cleanings every 3 months instead of 6?

@Leke Adebanjo but they themselves were selling and said we’re promoted to sell it. Now idk if they LIED but
I had the same issue when I got my braces last year, I went to the dentist the next day and told them I can’t chew my food, please fix it.

Now going for invisalign and looking forward to it, really glad to have watched your video!
Glad you found the video useful.

Im in a very similar position. I had invisilign along time ago, didnt wear retention enough and im back again in my 30s. On try 16 of the initial 34

Thanks!🤐

Thank you!
Glad it has helped. 👍
So why don't you just get Invisalign
@@justincase4474 the price is too high
@@scana-chan6794 how much is it.
Do you have to brush your teeth every time you eat? Or is rinsing well with water just fine?
@@ecuterocks6704 ive been brushing them every time i eat. I carry a toothbrush, paste and floss with me but I've stopped snacking which is a good thing. My teeth have never been so white from all the cleaning 😂. However my dentist did say that if i cant brush them if im out, to just rinse with water then brush as soon as i can.
@@emilyanderson5057 hello so how was it and are u happy with your results
Glad it was helpful! Stick with it. It will get easier. No pain = no gain 😀
I know this is late but the way you worded this makes it sound like you're eating it with the aligners on, correct me if I'm wrong
Thank you so much 🙏 I’m having my first Invisalign set put in tomorrow so your video was enormously helpful - much appreciated 🙏
Glad it helped Debbie. Good luck with you Invisalign journey.
Excellent review... I have gone through EVERY sentiment you've stated with my invisaligns.
Wow dont think 14 weeks will be enough. I'm coming upto 5 months and have been impressed with the changes so far but like you said everyone is different.
My sister-in-law is coming towards the end of her treatment plan. Hers has lasted around a year. So many variables.
49 weeks here so...
@@ihatetibet hoping mine should be done within a year
mine is probably gonna be for a year and a half or so...
Mine probably should be done in 42 - 43 weeks.
Very useful, picking up my Invisalign later today so thanks!
Where was invisilign back in 1996 lmao I had railroad mouth. But my teeth were so beautiful when finished. But now at 39 I need my teeth realigned
MY TRAYS DONT COME OFF EASY AT ALL!!! I unhook the tray from back molars then when trying to unhook the front part of bottom tray, it won’t give
I had 20 attachments lol, the attachment removal process was the worst out of the whole Invisalign experience. I never experienced any pain or discomfort during though.
Oh dear. Why did you find the removal process so bad?
Were you happy with the results?
Starting my journey in six days. Don’t know whether to run and hide or just sit in the corner and wait for it to all be over.
Embrace it. The first week or so will be tough, but it gets easier. My new video (10 weeks in) will be going live next week, right around the time you get yours. Spoiler, you get used to them and they are not that bad. Seeing the progress will make it worth while.
@@ElectricTeeth can i see a diffrent in 3 months?
Yes. Differences will be visible in 3 months. How much difference is personal as all cases are not the same.
How did it go?
Hi can i just ask do the stick that play dough thing in your mouth to get a shape its called a mold i think i saw somewhere for invislign they just do an xray
Thank you for this video. I have had the scan and I am waiting for my first set of trays. I found your video very helpful.
Glad you found it useful Galyn. How long is your treatment plan?
Excellent video. I’m three days in and experiencing everything you said. I will add that when you take the aligner out to eat your teeth feel sensitive.
This ^^ I'm on Day 5 and at this point the soreness is gone and it feels odd when the trays and rubber bands are out
@@rachelcordell1869 all the best with your treatment Rachel. I’m feeling excited and positive about coming weeks 👍
@@rachelcordell1869 that’s promising to hear I really hope i get to the point where i don’t even notice they’re in
Your exact situation matches mine and I am highly considering Invisalign. Thank you!
Thank you so much! Very informative
I started my treatment today, thank you so much for the video, it was great!!
Does the price vary?
This was very helpful! My orthodontist told me that I’ll be getting my braces removed on December and then I’ll be using Invisalign to speed the treatment process, im so excited!
I like how your videos are succinct and factual. Based on your anecdotal evidence I will get a consultation with an orthodontist.
Glad it was helpful!
I’m 3 weeks into my treatment. Felt no discomfort or pain. 😈
I'm on my first day of my first try. And I'm kinda regretting it because it's so uncomfortable and painful. But your video and other people's comments gave me peace of mind. Thank you!
I can assure you it gets easier!
hello!!! i am on day ten too! and I have been feeling the same ! a bit regretful with my headaches etc..... nice to hear other people feeling the same way and yes it gives a bit of peace knowing others r feeling the same :)
Just signed up for a treatment plan yesterday, should start my journey in about 4 weeks. Estimated 12 months of treatment.
All the best Sion.
Thanks - 'Really helpful - I'm in the process of getting the Invisaligns.
Im 14 or 15 weeks in of total 19 weeks. And the pain is not a problem at all. U feel a little sor and thats all..i dont take them out at all when i drink. But i floss every evening..
Are you pleased with the results so far Mathias?

Thank you for this video! I’m about to start my Invisalign treatment soon! My plan will be about 15months or so. I appreciate your insight!!
All the best with it.
Me too got mine this week. 12 month treatment
Thank you for posting this. A lot of great information that I didn't consider. Having to calculate when I'm eating and all the cleaning would actually keep me from mindlessly snacking.
Just started my first tray today. Thank you for all the tips!
I found th video very helpful. Thanks for doing it. I get mine in 2wks. Obviously I am a little apprehensive that they are going to work. The cost is about $6000 in America.
Thx for the video. This is my first day. Nasty constant push!!!!🤔
I just got my first tray today. Thanks for the info. Taking them out has been stressful lol.
It gets easier for sure.
@@ElectricTeeth I'm glad to hear it! lol
I start my trays Monday! Thanks for this.
Do let me know how you find it Ryan. I am now about to move onto my 4th set of aligners. 2 & 3 were far more comfortable than number 1.
I also started mine today
How are you finding them so far?
How's it going Ryan?
I’m on trey #1 started yesterday and I wanna jump out a window so much discomfort!
I’m getting my Invis today! I’m so nervous yet so fascinated by how it works
Good luck.
I just got scanned for my invisalign, I have to go back in 5 weeks to pick them up. My orthodontist has to show me how to wear them and fit them on
This was a very helpful and reassuring video!!
Hello John! I just got off watching this video. Very informative, thank you. I realize this was recorded a year back. Would you have a corrected teeth image inserted maybe? How are your teeth now? I was unable to find another updated video of Invisalign on the channel. Tx again
This was incredibly informative. Thanks a million. I loved it . So well done.
Thank you for the feedback, I am glad you found it helpful.
This was so helpful, thank you! I just got mine yesterday and wasn’t aware that I would need attachments on my teeth when I decided to go ahead with Invisalign. I’m in pretty bad discomfort today (I was completely fine yesterday) but hopefully it’ll pass soon and it’ll all be worth it :)
i’m on my first night, did it get any better or did you find something to relieve the discomfort
@@STEPHENisSTEPHEN I ended up taking paracetamol and ibuprofen which helped a lot.
