Best wiring tutorial I've seen. Some folks are pretty random with wiring, or they're going by instincts and just don't explain "why" they're doing what they're doing, but I appreciate how you explain the techniques. Thank you!
The wiring close ups are very "user friendly" and encouraging. Thank you for illuminating the sacred Basics.
I have learned more about wiring in 25 minutes watching your vid than i have in about 6 months of reading and watching other channels. Really good stuff and you provide really great info in a way that makes it very easy to understand. Can't wait for more!
The most straightforward, clear explanation of wiring I've seen. The one on raffia is also an excellent video.
It’s nice out of all the bonsai videos on RUclips to finally find someone who is doing it right! Keep up the good work! We need more proper technique videos on here.
A GREAT teacher who pays attention to detail. Thank You
New to Bonsai trees, just received an Elm and a sweet plum. Was looking for care guidance when I happened upon your site, great guides Jason, have subscribed. Really informative and easy to follow thanks!
Thank you! so much for videos! For the beginner it's good how you clarify the steps in why and how, many don't go to the dept that you do. I look forward your next video.
Your instruction and artistry are an inspiration to your grateful RUclips family.
Thank you for a very helpful video for this first-time Bonsai owner! I will definitely be back when my wire arrives.
I really enjoy your video's Jason you explain the techniques very clearly.
thank you Ron
This video was more than helpful. I am feeling more confident about starting my bonsai. Thank you for sharing your knowledge to the world.
You sir are an amazing bonsai teacher! All your videos are deliciously detailed! Please more videos!
Jason you are the best teacher. I have learnt so much about wiring technique and training from your videos.
Great info for wiring. You're so detailed and show the techniques really clearly. Thanks for another great video. 👍🤩
Hey it was good, now I know how to clean the branch, match wire size for the branch, anchor a single branch and spread the wired fishbone technique and cover it. Everything was so easy to view and nothing blocked my view. Now I'll need to scout around for a huge variety of wire sizes for my first large Green Mound Juniper in Rock Pot yet to be delivered safely. I'm sure I'll be watching more of your video's, Thanks for everything!
Thank you for the detailed information and taking the time to position the bonsai so the camera captures the work you are describing.
Your videos are still so damn helpful. I've recently gotten really into bonsai and your hands on teaching and techniques have bumped up my knowledge about my plants so much. And it's not just the general information but all the little details you address in specific situations. Such a great job!
I am just getting into bonsai, and your videos are very helpful! Thank you for your thorough videos.
No need to ask it was way beyond helpful. You explain everything in great detail and make it so the watcher can see the actual work being done as oppose to just saying what you're doing. A friend of mine who does shows etc is an expert that also does video on youtube and real nice ones. However, he's doesn't show the actual detail of the wok being done as much as you do. I wasn't sure how to wire the second branches until I saw your video. I don't like to bug my friend he has so many people asking stuff. I sure hope he doesn't read this lol Please make many more videos I love them and send me the link I am subscribed. Lastly if you haven't done one can you do one explaining how to thicken the trunk?
Terrific video! Thank you for the explanation on both how and why branches are wired a certain way. As someone new to bonsai, this is a tremendous help!
thank you for the video, I've seen about a dozen that want this in depth. on how to, why its done like this etc. thank you, very helpful.
Really good. I've watched a lot of videos on wiring and this is the best description I've seen. Thanks
I really appreciate you showing us the whole process for a branch. It's exactly what I was needing to know and I'll be referring back to this video if I have questions.
I second that THESE VIDEOS ARE FANTASTIC !! PLEASE do more on a beginners how to cut the juniper from nursery stock. THANK YOU JASON !!!
Wow, am I happy I found your videos! I’ve searched for a long time just so that I might start creating movement, interest and beauty to my trees, but have never seen anyone do it with the visuals you have- showing all angles and speaking in detail that even I can understand. Thank you so much for putting these out there. I haven’t looked for it yet, but one of the main things I’m interested in is how to secure the roots with wire (or any other way). I’ve tried to do it several times and they always find a way to jiggle at root level in the first steps away from my 360° base. I hope you have a video on it already, but if not, is that something you could be interested in doing please? Thank you.
Great tutorial, thank you for sharing your sill and knowledge. I look forward to viewing more videos.
Ive been watching tons of bonsai videos on youtube lately.. yours are by far some of the best in terms of instruction, explanation and filming. Subscribed. Thank you!
+johnwisdom Thank you for the feedback! We're planning on adding more soon.
johnwisdom same thought lol
And too add moving at a good pace, nothing worse than watching someone stop to talk, Jason does a good job of explaining but not stopping for a long time.
This video has the best information on how to start wiring. Good explanations of different situations that may happen.
Starting on my first real attempt and it is a juniper. Very helpful video.. clear audio.. good camera focus on entire process.. and nice details/tips. Thanks a lot!!.. excited to use your suggestions on my own project.
I really like your job. I have a lot of difficulties shaping a tree. Thank you so much for your videos.
I have watched so many videos on how to wire bonsai. Your video is absolutely the best one . You explain it & show how to do it so much better. Thank you.

Hi Jason, I’ve been watching different videos on bonsai and you’re the first one Ive found who describes how and why to apply wire and get the movement in the branches and trunk.
Thank you for your videos, I’m going to sub and watch them all.
Excellent video mate. I'd love to see you finish the tree :)
This is the third video of your’s that I’ve watched and I wish I had found you before I wired my first bonsai the other day.
If you can it might be helpful if you showed a similar tree shape you’re aiming for.
Learning so much, thank you!

Hi Jason....
I am trying hard to learn how to make a bonsai....
I love the way you showed how to wire...
That’s very helpful to me.
It had been my dilemma of how to work on the roots.
I hope you have a video on that aspect of creating a bonsai....
I am your new fan haven’t seen a lot of your video yet .
And also a lesson on how to choose a tree/plant to start a bonsai ...
Thank you and more power
Hello! I am very new to bonsai. I am curious as to how long you typically keep wires on the primary/secondary branches? Is there a method to test to see if the branch has begun to hold the desired position or do you take the wire off periodically to see? I just do not want to scar the branches if at all possible. Thank you!
Outstanding! Was hesitant to order 6.0 but will now. Thanks.
Awesome, thanks for sharing, subscribed, from Vietnam.
Thanks. Great information. I'm just starting so it's a lot of new info.

Great video and great teacher! ;)
Thank you friend, very good information.
Nicely explained... thank you!
clear explanation and demo thank you
Even tho some of things you say contradict things Ive heard from masters working on bonsai for 50 years, but I like your videos quite a lot, you go in depth on some things others dont include and just glide over, and some of your facts contradicting that of experienced masters is even more acceptible, because those same masters like to say that there are classical ways you may follow, there are modern ways you may follow, or go in between and use some of your own routes and aesthetics, because the most important thing is that the tree is healthy and looks good for you and maybe other people, in short, keep the tree healthy and enjoy it.
Thank you for all this information.
Dude, that was extremely helpful.
Eastern Leaf website has great trees and customer service. My first order was the grand Chinese elm. I’m actually gonna air layer the top off this spring because I want to make a fat little twisted shohin and just as a bonus the top has good structure for a cool upright to play with 🌿
and im sitting here watching the video on 2020. thanks for sharing, Jason!
I get so much out of your channel & you explain things very well.
thank you for a great video man...
Really helpful! Thank you so much! 👍
Very helpful video.TY for sharing
This is great! Became a subscriber...Thanks! Got an update on how the finished tree wiring turned out? Maybe a picture?
More, more! You're so thorough and really natural as a teacher. There are other great bonsai videos on RUclips but.. make more. :)
Also, I know this sounds like/is a direct plug, but Eastern Leaf has some really nice bonsai for under $35. I've looked around in the last few days and that's really cheap to have it already manicured and in a nice pot? (I have no idea what I'm doing yet so I have no desire to get a completely natural tree and try to not kill it, myself...)
+Mi'el Ardidito Blanquea Esquivo Thanks! Glad that you enjoyed watching the videos. Definitely more to come!
Great explanation thank you
Hey i really like to see some more, you're great
