You have the power of the gods of matter in your hands: "Iron sings to my rhythm". Creative, different and almost fanciful. Fantastic, I congratulate you !!!
Nice job. Who needs an entire machine shop at their disposal when you have a cutoff wheel and a welder. I enjoyed watching this. Well done and thumbs up.
Simple & fine fab! Morten Mortensen's comment & I must say I would also be quite pleased with the outcome as well! It is amazing what can be made/achieved at home for almost nothing. Not to mention exceeding the quality & performance of many a commercial/store bought product. & if things you make don't perform as well as you anticipated for some reason you only have to make simple adjustments or you can scrap entirely & repurpose...I see it as win/win! Great job! No need to tie up the drawing board over & over on such things as clamps!
Nice build my friend, want to save time and money!most people say its dangerous but if you have common sense its simple.Ive been doing it for years. If you have a beam like that or any rusty scrap you want to weld for ex. you cut your 12 pieces before worrying about rust then you submerge it all in some pool acid(hydrocloric acid) outdoors obviasly and watch the rust and even mill scale disapear rinse in bakingsoda and water and your good to weld with NO problems!
I like this idea better than all the wood clamps I have seen made. The only thing I think I will change is to buy bolts with heads on them instead of the all thread rod with the T handle welded on. That way I can use a battery impact drill to quickly screw and unscrew the length of the clamp. All in all, a great project for clamps that will last forever.
Stephen Landry I like your idea, and I bet you could actually have it both ways. Cut the T bar in half, and weld each piece just below the bolt head. Leaving the bolt head exposed for use with drill, but t bar for easy hand tightening... just a thought!
You are my brother... we put 80% of scaffolding effort for final 20% of real/core work... and would not think of putting that C channel right on top of those woods to hold tight... (so funny to see myself as in a mirror...) Never the less they are useful to stuff them in garage... Very nice and good work... and very study hands to get those groves on the rods... best regards
Well done a great job, when time spent doing things proves to be better than time spent watching things on RUclips ... I just gota get my lazy ass in the workshop lol
Crank it up higher, use a smaller rod, or grind a better spot for the ground. These three things are nearly always the issue when you get sticking. Source: welded for 2½ decades, on all kinds of metals.
Just brilliant work!! very innovative build:-) clamps are ( never enough) in the shop this should increase the inventory, ha,ha Thank for sharing your work
Not the prettiest thing I have seen, but it is inexpensive and easy to make. For use in woodworking, I think adding some softer pads (plastic of wood) on the places where clamping pressure is applied is preferable to avoid damaging the wood.
Why buy them for 3 bucks each when you can make them for 9 dollars each your self! Brilliant makers rule!!! I love them keep the great videos coming! I'm gonna make some now your them man!! People ask me all the time why make stuff you can just go out and buy? They will never get it will they?
great design idea , cheap ,easy to find material ,,,, like the swivel design ,,,, , is the backer rod necessary will c Chanel deflect too much on it own , ?
May I suggest that you make the screws of different length. By making them even you have to keep them away from each other as it is shown when you tried to place the clamps in the middle of the board and then another one precisely opposite to it and you had to move it. I guess you got it. If you decide to adopt it, lend me an email. I would like to see it.
Hola.
Hello my dear friend .... great work ... and you are as adorable as you are in your smart thoughts ... how I wish to be as successful as you I always wish you a happy life ... I would also like to thank you for your wonderful and beautiful work ... I congratulate you
Great idea. But why put the rod on the sides? Wouldn't it be nicer to have it flat? It looked strong enough for most glue ups without it. Either way. Good idea. Might need to steel this one.
The paint looks to me to be Hammerite. I've used yellow Hammerite before, and the colour and consistency seems to be a dead ringer for what I used. My monitor is colour calibrated, I don't know if the camera used is...
i know this material. Your first thought would be its impossible to bend it but this is steel not cast iron. They tend to be flexible. Actually the reinforcement strength does not comes form the steel bar itself what he welds on it, but the welding material also. That is much more rigid, and harder. The only thing i would might change in this build, is the threaded rod to a trapezoid one. What i actually really like with these C claps is that they will never break or crack if they fell down. Many of the commercial C clamps are casted, and if they fell down, or you tight them a bit overdoing, they can crack.

Cool. Additional wire, probably all the same superfluous. More work, and not a significant increase in rigidity. And the rest is excellent. Well done.

Your freehand precision is astounding! Great video.
❤️ These c-clamps are perfect for bonding ( glue-up ) multiple boards or cutting boards, thank’s for sharing !

very cool, a lot of work but now you have some solid clamps! Impressive
I don't really watch much metalworking on RUclips but this was very cool to watch and they came out looking as great as they are functional.
finally some simple and effective clamps! congratulations!
Beautiful work
Great little clamps, you must have had lots of pleasure making them, you project video gets 5 ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
Great idea. I'm just going to make a few this weekend. Thanks for sharing.

Nice work! Like the colors too.
Very professionally done. Thank you for sharing this!
Nice clamps. They look so nice I think I'm going to have to make some of them. Great thank you
Nice job, wish I had that kind of spare time. $50 out of China will get me a clamp with more throat at half the coast. Thanks for sharing, Billy
Turning junk into tools. Lots of talent there, guy. I envy you.
Well done a great job, when time spent doing things proves to be better than time spent watching things on RUclips ... I just gota get my lazy ass in the workshop lol
Orange and black would be a nice combination too
Fantastic. My welder sticks to the job 9 times out of ten!

great idea and very good skills! if I may, I'd suggest you weld a nut on the top to make it adjustable with the power drill. congratulations!
Just brilliant work!! very innovative build:-) clamps are ( never enough) in the shop this should increase the inventory, ha,ha
Thank for sharing your work
Great Job, comes on my List in Top10 :) *thumbsUp*
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Great idea and fantastic work to make it a reality

Since the press foot is a non rotating one you better put someting under it when working with expensive or sensitive materials.
Nice work, but the clamps are very limited reach-wise. i liked your solution for the clamp foot, ingenious.
Ant Mallett reach wise you can try welding flat bar to make a C section , just a thought .
Hello my dear friend .... great work ... and you are as adorable as you are in your smart thoughts ... how I wish to be as successful as you

Gracias, buen trabajo,, de gran ayuda.
Great idea. But why put the rod on the sides? Wouldn't it be nicer to have it flat? It looked strong enough for most glue ups without it. Either way. Good idea. Might need to steel this one.
Thanks. I tested one clamp without the rod. It bends. That's why I added the rod.
Of course, just thought: it would be like a 'spine'. Great idea, thanks, Gunter
onedieingsoul : It's an additional reinforcement of strength.
