Definitely! I always love to do this, too! Even rescuing old tools that look like they are only suited for recycling instead, I have fixed them up, and there's little that's more satisfying!
i'm pretty sure you're aware, but your computer screen is not capable of being bright enough to give you welders flash. the brightest it will be is the same as a white screen. it was nice to be able to see what he would see through his welders mask though, rather than just a white blob, that's likely what you meant anyways.
@@stevem815 funny story, on the flip side of being safe while watching someone weld, i met a guy that thought it was safe to watch with a mirror, said that a mirror wouldn't reflect the UV light. i wonder if he can still see.
😊👍 I like the idea of using channel instead of Tee, as it will be more stable in use and almost impossible to tip over when loading with wood. Allso the increased metal cross section makes it less distortable. Very good neat work. 😊 10 points!😊 .
Brilliant job and clamps, you used an angle grinder with a guard and you weld a proper bead, then shielded to the welding. This is a great example how to do diy tools properly and film the making of it.
The only issue I had was that he seemed to be too eager to grind down welds, and that weakens them. That's just a pet peeve of mine from my decades of welding experience - never grind unless it must be done for the operation of what you're making.
Not that long. The longest part would be waiting for the primer and paint to dry, LOL! The sanding and grinding would be the next longest part. If you have a chop saw designed to cut metal (like this guy's miter saw, but for metal), though, the cutting is really quick. Welding is super quick, too. The longest part of that is cleaning off the slag and any spatter afterwards.
I love how you put the camera under a self adjusting welders face plate... what a cool idea! Anyone who buys clamps is NOT a tradesman... tradesmen make their own clamps... it's personal! EDIT- Nice Build... 100%
Very good reuse of existing stuff. Always better to reuse than buy new! A few things: Only grind down what is absolutely necessary to remove on your welds. It weakens them. If you drill the holes in the clamp ends before you weld those nuts on, you wouldn't have to cut new threads into them.
Lucky coincidence I have been thinking how to go about making some Sash Clamps but not quite sure then saw this. A big thank you for taking the time and effort to post
@@MaryAnnNytowl My welding experience is very minimal. I'm half tempted to learn how to arc weld first and move on from there. Thanks for your feedback.
Carpentry and metal work in a bag - now that's a serious skillset right there! 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Мега мощность!!!!! Основательный подход!!! Молодец мастер, все на совесть, послужат ещё и внукам!!!!
Wonderful job by someone who is very patient and cares. Those clamps will likely be around for several generations. Thank you.

There is something satisfying about repurposing old rusty steel into great. You are an inspiration.

Best Clamps I've ever seen. Been a Custom Home Builder & WoodWorker over 30 yrs. GREAT JOB. New Subscriber, Vinny 🇺🇸
These will serve your great grandchildren, undestroyable. You can press moisture out of wood with these things. Great job!
I don't know if anyone else mentioned it, but I really appreciate the way you shielded your welds. Thanks.
Thanks! ;)
Yeah that was a bit of awesome, not to mention the rest of the whole video...which was just wicked good...
The shielding protects his camera. That is all that it does.
@@billy19461 adding the square with the exposure reversed to the video over the welding protects the camera...just curious...how does it do that...

I'm just to do the same one meter long Bar-clamps for woodworking from a square tubes and angels, so this video is helpful for me! BRAVOS!
Funziona👏👏👏
Ho ni vostro video che guardo mi fa ricordare il mio papà e profumo di legna che avevamo in casa...
This video is amazing.. The one that i like is when he start to weld he covered it to block the lights so our eyes not hurt when we see the video
Hoping that's sarcasm.
Best home made clamps I've seen so far
Best comment I ever read so far for this nice clamps..
If it's not available, not affordable, or doesn't exist....build it.... Best DIY heavy duty clamps I've seen...
I’ve seen lots of clamp builds, this is hands down the best. 👍
Really liked the video effect used during the welding process.
That's what i need! Thank you Bro. God bless you. 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤😊😊😊
Best Idea I've Ever Seen. Thanks.

Great Job. Great Video !! Best process for making bar clamps, that i have seen to date. Thank you.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! ;)
What a wonderful clamp also just as a wonderful idea with the screen whilst welding loved it and thank you
The best I've ever seen and indestructible!
Thank you for using a dark patch on the screen to minimize the welding effect to the viewers eye. Appreciate your caring. Thank you...

@@grahamh1067 I think it's a joke. But it's funny to imagine someone getting out their mask to watch welding videos, just in case.

MUY MUY MUY BUEN TRABAJO!!! FELICITACIONES Y SALUDOS DESDE ARGENTINA!
Bravo in every aspect of your work TWO THUMBS UP!
Over clamping makes glue starved joints. Max clamping pressure not necessary.
Beautiful clamps!!
Very nice work . You've saved a lot of money for buying original staples.
So, you do know that we can not go blind watching welds on video right? Lol ps, Great cap for that last stair!! Just beautiful!
Exelente día y gracias por estar siempre con los amos del reciclaje, saludos
it's not a clamp, it's a industrial vice on a long bar. Brilliant.

Great video. A little advice. You can use about half the pressure on the clamping of the boards, that you are using.
Hay Mr. "HomeMade" grate job for a kitchen table project! Can't wait for your new site "Fully loaded industrial shopmade".
BRILLIANT JOB!!!
Much more cheaper than shop clamps. Compulsory if you do lots of woodworking. Nice job bro.
Salam from Malaysia !
Nice clamps, very sturdy. You know, one can clamp so tightly as to force all the glue from the joint thus making a weaker joint.
Thanks, yes I know that. The main thing here is not to overdo it.

Maybe already said...you could weld a nut on the end so you could hit them with an impact. Nice shop and great work.
this is something ive thought of doing at school, but wont like me welding on their clamps. could be done with g clamps also

They aren't that expensive; at least starter welders aren't, and most DIY people will never need more than a starter.
