Thanks for posting but you just described a text book narcissist with all its phases: the initial love bombing, the devaluation, lack of empathy, triangulation, discard and hoovering. Well done you for getting rid off.
Good for you, for having the self-respect to say NO. Many years ago, I experienced something very similar to you with an ex-girlfriend (bad language, being obsessed with an old boyfriend - which I found insensitive). She also gave the impression of needing a back-up plan (as in the control-freakery you experienced with the sauce bottle). There's an insecurity there - they desperately need to feel safe and not be alone. My ex-girlfriend was diagnosed with BPD (borderline personality disorder). The mood swings, cruelty, abandonment issues - he may have had BPD too. Once you stand up to them, which I did in the end too, they absolutely detest it - because you've worked out how they operate/won't be fooled/have standards for yourself. Dating sites are not a good idea - I strongly believe predators/mentally unhinged use it to target vulnerable folks. It's very easy to paint a picture of 'this is who I am' which may be a false image to lure you. When you think about it, it's quite sinister. Thank you for sharing. P.S. It happens in so many relationships doesn't it....and although it did take a while for the penny to drop, I got there in the end thank goodness. I so sorry that you had to go through the same torment albeit with a different kind of person. It's never easy is it? I certainly agree about dating sites. I'm at thr stage where i am really happy on my own, raising my children and dealing with issues that come up due to childhood trauma. That inevitably played a part in the relationships i have had. Its just so refreshing to hear another woman, who is senior to myself, explaining her life story. Its sad that its nothing new nor will it end but information is key. I was in a women's refuge 3 years ago with my children and i read 'Living with the Dominantor'. To see my now ex-husband descriped in every chapter really brought it home for me. I just didn't see it at the time and didn't know. Videos like yours are so important and perhaps one day i'll share my own story to help someone else. It is sad and disgusting to me that such evil men can abuse such a beautiful inside and out woman such as yourself. I find that this world treats us kind ones that way. I believe that God sees all and as is written in Psalm 37 : 12 But the Lord laughs at the wicked, because he sees that their day is coming. They will all get theirs!
