Omg same! I watched a video yesterday because I was so distressed because of my palpitations but, after watching him I am a bit more confident. I am here right now because the same feeling is kind of making me uncomfortable.
You just put my mind to rest ! I thank the Lord everytime I watch one of your videos-- I have been blessed so much by them. Thank you doctor, and God Bless you and your family!!!
You are the doctor we all wish had the time for us. Thank you so much for the direct education and comfort, not to mention the money saved and time wasted going in for another less-thorough talk with our cardiologist . ✌🏿️
Hi Doctor this is my first time seeing you. In 2017 I had a heart stent in the main heart arteries I'm A living miracle today. And for about 30years I've had Acid reflex.today I'm experiencing pain on the left side under my rib by my heart Im 68 years old, please advice me what can I do. It feels like stomach inflammation. I'm not on any medicine, My reg Doctor says they don't find nothing, my heart Doctor says all is ok. I know some thing is not right.
It's such a shame I don't live in the same country as you do. I would immediately visit you because you seem like someone who is professional and above all kind and calming.
The irony is, this kind of doctors have such an expansive clientele that sighting the pope would be a walk in your yard compared to getting an appointment with this guy
I have had palpitations for about 6 months now. it goes beat, beat, pause, hard beat, back to normal. I've been to the hospital 3 times, 3 different doctors, ekgs, blood work, and x-rays. everything came back normal. I told them all about my mother passing away in 2015 from a heart problem and they said the heart issue she died from was brought on by smoking, drinking, and unhealthy eating. her father passed away at 48 from the same thing. they said i have nothing to fear but I am CONSTANTLY worrying about it. it is very scary. & when it first started it came on very sudden and very hard. now it usually happens when I am resting at night. it doesn't happen often when I am keeping myself busy. they all said it was anxiety. I've been diagnosed with severe anxiety, depression, and have bad sleeping habits. your videos have definitely brought some closure to me. thank you.
Stephanie Leeanne Rae Knight u mirror my anxiety. I have had my mom and aunt die prematurely from heart issues. My anxiety has been thru the roof off and on for the last 20 years. I vlog about these also. I have extreme anxiety over my heart health. It is plaguing.
Stephanie Leeanne Rae Knight this comment was a year ago, but anyone with worries similar to these should also get multiple opinions from different doctors
I have the same problem as you. My heart constantly go “beat , beat, slow beat, pause, normal beat” I get it all around the day and it’s making me worry. Went to the doctor did all my ecg etc etc.. everything came out fine. I don’t know what’s wrong with me
Get a sleep study. Most the time our heart palpitating fat asses have sleep apnea. Of course the silent killer sleep apnea is accompanied by the WORST heart palpitation episodes.
If you like avocados, they are rich in both magnesium and potassium. My palpitations have improved significantly after starting to eat more avocados. I still have them, but I just have started eating avocados often this week.
Thank goodness for this video!! I have had palpitations (pvcs) since 2012 due to anxiety apparently. I went to the dr then and I had done an EKG, Holter monitor and an echocardiogram.. they all came back as normal. They did found out I had pvcs. I stopped eating chocolate (which btw I absolutely love) and stopped drinking caffeinated drinks and it made a difference. A few months later I got palpitations again and I have them all the time specially if I'm stressed or very anxious! Next week I have an appt with a cardiologist, Im going in for a check up!. Hopefully they will say that my palpitations are benign!! Thanks again for this video! also your calm voice made my worries go away! love it! :D Best regards from the USA!
Have been crying tonight because yet again, I can't sleep due to palpitations that come on when I try to go to sleep. I want to tell you how wonderful it is out here in the States where I now live,to be able to listen to you with all your information. The fact that you have taken the time to say all this is (excuse the pun) heartwarming! I also feel better hearing your accent because I am originally from the Uk also! I keep being given holtor monitors to see whats happening but my heart often seems to behave perfectly when I have that on, and awful when I don't! Well anyway, thanks again and hopefully next week will be a better week for me because every night this week has been awful and last night I was awake with palps most of the night! Keep up the good work. :)
+QueenNoTeetha151 awww..you make my day with your kind words... thank you. i am sorry to hear that you are struggling.. if you need my help don't hesitate to get in touch
Really i also feel the same way... i am not getting proper sleep because of this.. Yesterday i met a cardiologist and done ecg echo and holter bt he said everything is ok n now m relaxed but still i feel like having the issue.. it really feels discomforting like some engine behave when it doesn't get enough fuel or fuel is goint to exhaust. My bp alwys gets high i dont know the reason yesterday it was 150/90 and previously also it has been to this.. Thank you dr. for your words. Otherwise i was thinking that this is very serious and i have less time for my family and myself.🙏🏻
I am so glad I found you! My palpitations was keeping me from even wanting to go to work/outside. These videos have put me at ease. Coming from someone who has a lot of anxiety && panic disorder.
You're not alone brother, your palpitations are likely linked to your anxiety even if your not feeling anxious at the time of getting them. The anxiety gets better with age and training the mind.
I'm stuck on Klonopin due to extreme anxiety and panick that started at age 9 from SVT and skipped/ ectopic beats. I was doing very well until recently I started getting ectopics frequently throughout the day.. so my anxiety and panick goes up and I'm a mess.. your not alone. I have good day and bad days. Just had another echo and holter all came back normal but when I get the skips my brain goes haywire of what if .. will I die.. it's horrible
I love this video! I always worry that i will die whenever i experience palpitation but watching this made me undertand palpitations. Thanks for the knowledge.
4 years ago, when I found your channel I was suffering with severe cardio phobia. Fast forward to today, you popped up on my feed and Im pleased to say I am 100% cured of any heart related anxiety and it’s all thanks to you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️
I see 111 everywhere and I have been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder. I've been having palpitations a lot lately. I also have an Cardiologist appointment next week. Waking up out of your sleep in a panic and rapid heart beat is freightning.
Same here lol, that’s why I clicked on the video. I believe it was the beginning of my spiritual awakening back in 2013 when I started seeing 11, that’s when I started getting sick. My worst year although was when I turned 44(multiple of 11) and now I’m dealing with the palpitations
Dr. Gupta, you are amazing. You explain everything in plain English and make me feel normal eliminating my anxiety, my worries about my palpitation "PVC" goes away with the simple way you explain. Thank you.
Absolutely admire your knowledge and demeanor. You always speak to us and not at us or down to us. Have referred your channel to two of our daughters who suffer anxiety.
The name George is a Greek Baby Names baby name. In Greek Baby Names the meaning of the name George is: From 'georgos' meaning tiller of the soil, or farmer. Famous bearer: St George, patron saint of England, who struggled with a fire breathing dragon symbolizing the devil.
I've been recently experiencing heart palpitations due to anxiety and I can't begin to explain how much your videos have helped! I love my doctor and we're going through the appropriate tests, but your explanations have provided so much relief! Thank you so much for what you do! ❤
This video gave me some relief!!! I have palpitations but I haven't had any of these symptons or family history of this stuff...my mother and grandmothers and grandfathers on both sides died at old age and no one in my family has ever dropped dead or had heart disease, my father doesnt have palipations at all...my grandfather had high blood pressure from eating bad food for years but he still lived till 68 and was overweight his whole life....I believe my mother passed anxiety on to me she told me she used to have anxiety really bad in the 80s with palpitations etc and she still has them every blue moon but they don't bother her anymore she's 57....thank god for this doctor and thank god I don't have any of these symptoms....I'm still a work in progress with this stuff it can freak you out.
BlackSportsNW good shit man. Same situation here. I’ve having random flutters in my heart out of no where but it’s deff connected to these panic disorders and anxiety.
I feel that some of my doctors base their hypothesis on my problem way too much on age. I get that the vast majority of people who are young don’t have major heart issues, but what if I am one of the outliers? Don’t just dismiss as if I’m crazy. Oh your just a child! No way you can even have an issue! I’m not a doctor but even I understand that that way of thinking is quite dangerous.
thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos and explaining these symptoms. I have been seen by many drs and NONE of them have ever explained these issues as well as you. Bless you.
I have had palpitations for 38 years I’m now 73 years old and had a pacemaker put in 7 weeks ago ,and still going like the pink elephant with Duracell batteries ,even though I have a.pacemaker put in ,I still have the palpitations ,there are days I have had thousands off skip heart beats, and odd feelings and the heart stop and go ,I’m still here ,eating working and complaining ,and bugging someone ,and enjoying life until it stops ,I don’t worry never did never will ,until my eyes close for good ,why don’t I worry ,it’s because my lord and saviour said why worry you can’t change one thing by worrying ,so I don’t worry because it’s up to him ,I will enjoy while I’m here ,then I will enjoy after when I get with him ,what more could you ask for ,that all I want and need to know that’s what my house is built on faith in what god has promised ,let me give you a little tip ,if you have ears to hear listen ,and he will whisper to you things you never known before ,yes it will change your life forever ,it did for me I’m not crazy ,he said my sheep hear my voice ,yes he talks to his sheep everyone off us ,but do we here him ,it sad because we have to much off the world in us to hear his voice ,but he keeps trying ,I was 69 year before I really heard and understood for the first time ,don’t expect too much ,he is a god off few words ,but very important words ,and sometimes a long time before he speaks ,but he is always right there when you are in trouble ,call on him he will answer ,and always remember what he said, that the afflictions off the just are many ,but he delivers them out off them all ,so we get afflicted like every one else ,but he delivers when you call on him ,amen
I only speak for myself, but 'sudden' death would be the very least of all worries. If it were to happen, it would be....well.....sudden, and I can do squat about it. I stop....period. It'll be over, just that quick. Instead, I dread heart failure as much as I dread drowning....but I repeat myself. To me, far better to get whacked in the back of the heart than to see it coming and to have to live hour after hour, day after day, week after week, knowing that my heart is dying.
There is an acupuncture point which stops palpitations. I was taught this long ago, and it always worked, and in the end the palpitations stopped. You draw an imaginary line along the base of your little finger nail. Another down the side. Where they intersect, there's a tiny triangle of flesh. Use a rounded pencil end, or similar, and press down until the palpitation stoppes. It works every time, and after a while, the palpitations go away.
@@petbetpet I cant do more than I have above, as I cannot produce a diagram. I'll try again. Are you right handed? OK. get a pencil with a small point, but rounded. If it's a sharp point it will hurt. Look at the little finger on your LEFT hand. Go the nail. On the outside of the nail, on the Left hand side, track down until it meets an imaginary line running along the base of your nail, where the nail meets the "quick". Inside there is a tiny area of skin and flesh. This is where you press the pencil point - or any other small point that is not sharp - and increase pressure but stop if it hurts. hold the pressure until the palpitation stops. Then stop. Do this every time you get a palpitation. AFter a while, they go away.
@@isabellajones8535 This idea neglects the fact that _palpitations_ is a general term that includes the symptoms of many different conditions. It's quite dubious that a pressure point would actually fix all those problems. And if it didn't fix the underlying problem, of which the arrhythmia is a symptom... are you really satisfied to merely relieve the symptom?? 😮
Great information. Thank you. I've had these palpitations for 2 weeks. They are fading away. At 43 I get worried about it because I used to drink when I was younger. Now I only drink once a week or every other week. I am healthy all blood work is normal. I do juicing and fasting. I am taking more carbs now and exercising when I get sleep.
Hey Dr, lately I've been having SO many PVC'S. I wrote to you before, but I am again, hope you don't mind! So, brief history of me. I had an Ultra sound on my heart when I was 16-17 I started to notice the pvcs. I actually diagnosed myself with them, haha. However, I immediately went and got an EKG, 24 Hour Holter Monitor, Ultra Sound, etc, Blood Work, etc.(I'm 19 now) Lately, sometimes I feel light headed(past year or two), I went in to urgent care a year and a half ago and had some tightness of the chest and again, I go another EKG, blood work, and it was fine. I also even got a full urine test. I had an MRI 5 years ago because I have floaters and I wanted to make sure my eyes were okay so we ordered one. also, I have had my eyes fully examined at Wills Eye institution. So, overall, everything has been checked and it's all fine. Right now as I'm writing this I'm getting pvcs and they make me feel drained and lightheaded, but I've felt lightheaded before without them. I do have and always have had some anxiety. The doctors told me before that it was the anxiety. However, I'm just so worried because I'm wondering if it's the anxiety making me feel like this due to the pvcs or the pvcs making me feel like this. it's hard to know and it just stresses me out beyond belief. Could you help me out? Thanks Doc, from Eric.
in the past 13 months, I had 4 occassions which i had these alarming palpitations with hypertensive urgency. One thing in common, I was having an acid reflux, regurgitation, digestive discomfort. lm glad I came across these very helpful videos about cardiogastric relation.
How are you doing now ? So do you think the palpitations are linked to your digestive issues ? I’m asking because I’m going through the same thing - palpitations, acid reflux & GERD.
@@latinalove05 Yeah so far Im doing good now. I always monitor myself whenever I eat. and yes these palpitation always happens whenever I overeat or having a reflux. I am losing weight right now. I was was able to get rid of this before when I lost weight but it came back during the pandemic.
@@marklee331 interesting, I’m glad you’re doing well. I’m going to get my heart checked out to make sure my heart is ok, but these palpitations are driving me crazy -- they are super scary and to have to deal with acid reflux or digestive issues on top of that.
@@marklee331 it’s been almost 3 months along with acid reflux and indigestion issues. I have days were I have them a few times throughout the day and other days I don’t feel any - so they come and go. I also do struggle with anxiety --
I've been diagnosed with PVC'S & most recently SVT. I wore a Zeo patch holter monitor for 2 weeks. SVT lasted over 1 minute. I never had heart symptoms until my thyroid was removed in 2012 due to cancer. That's when I started having symptoms. I get my thyroid hormone levels checked regularly & thankfully my levels have stayed stable for quite a while. I'm 47 & perimenopausal as well. I'm going to have a stress test soon. I've had stress tests, EKG'S, heart monitors several times before along with echocardiograms. It used to be worse when on Synthroid. Since going off Synthroid & being on natural desiccated thyroid hormone medication everything is so much better! I take magnesium, multivitamin, walk regularly, not obese, etc...
Having your thyroid removed most certainly brought on your heart issues! I hope you are doing well and able to keep normal thyroid levels these days? I have mild border-line hypothyroidism myself. Not on medication yet and hope not to have progression of the disorder!
Hey dr i want to tell that you always calm me down and decrease my anxiety i have skipped beats from time yo time and strong heart beats i ecg and halter and eko all normal and my anxiety was lowered but after watching this video and my having an uncle and aunt how died while they were young you increased my anxiety by so much more now iam only thinking about sudden death i wont get mad at you because you always made my stress decrease but this time you increased it by ton
Omg, I feel you on this! 🥺 My 1st cousin died of a heart attack at barely 28 years old… I just turned 31, I started having tachycardia last year and recently got put on Nebivolol. I’m still so scared whether or not the meds will help my morning episodes….guess I’ll know soon….
Your videos make me feel so much better. Thank you, Dr. Gupta. I had endocarditis when I was little and have a very small insufficiency of aorta and the mitral valve, but I've always had good blood pressure 115/80 and exercise frequently. I'm 34 years old and while I experienced my first palpitations at the age of 13, they came back with a vengeance this summer and lasted for 4 weeks, then they started again after a 6 week break and haven't stopped since. A holster ECG came down with as little as 3000 ectopic beats per day ( I don't have them when I exercise, and I don't have them when I sleep), but I think some days they're more frequent. It's a vicious circle now, because they are very unpleasant and I regret getting this smartwatch which can unfortunately record ECGs.... I don't know if they'll ever go away, nor what triggered them. I started supplements, and I don't think that's my problem -- they even got worse. I got off of them and now just deal with them as best as I can, because I don't want to be on beta blockers or have an ablation, but I am at my wits end.
My symptoms are very similar to yours (save for the aortic insufficiency/valve issue); for the past two months I have had persistent/constant palpitations. I had an ECG and they diagnosed Afib; of course they want to put me on drugs, which I have resisted. I have a wonderful kinesiologist and with his knowledge, combined with that of Dr. Gupta, we are identifying things that could be contributing to the palpitations. Some of these are: magnesium deficiency, dehydration, alcohol consumption, trapped emotions, and skeletal misalignments in the cervical vertebrae. My CRP is .5 so I don't think inflammation is a cause, though I am taking anti-inflammatories like Chaga mushroom, beet & chlorella supplements, Sulfphur and eating more green veggies (which I always have). I have also added "heart supportive supplements" such as Co-Q, hawthorn, and Standard Processes Cardiowise. Additionally, I am drinking LOTS of fluids - water, kombucha and bone broth that I make. I walk 10 miles/day with my dog, mostly because we LOVE it (no problems walking, but some shortness of breath going up steep hills or at elevation). I feel that I now have a good understanding of what is happening; I need to maintain my regimen to resolve the palpitations. Watching Dr. Gupta's videos has greatly alleviated my anxiety and feeling of "impending doom" (which is one of the trapped emotions that was cleared by my kinesiologist). I have had all of the blood tests (all fabulous), ECG and echo; I see a cardiologist for the first time later this month.... it will be interesting to hear what he has to say, but I believe that I am already on the road to recovery .... good luck to you, and don't worry too much - it causes inflammation! P.S. - I am 66 years young...
Dr Sanjay Yhank you for explaining palpations.. l had my first palpation at Home Depot and l passed out. They called EMSA and when l was in the ambulance l got up. Then when l went to the hospital they said they saw nothing. They were saying it was psychological and when l was going to Home Depot l was looking to buy an appliance. So l wasn't stress l was happy. But it was my heart. Then God blessed me with the best cardiologist and l had my first heart ablation surgery in 2019.
I’ve had pvc’s and ectopic beats for decades, since my teens. They can be very uncomfortable and are scary if they last for hours. Dr not concerned but they affect my life. Feels like my heart stops for a couple seconds and it is unnerving.
Question, I've been having heart palpitations on daily basis wether it's if im laying down or doing any daily activities, they are consetent pretty much through out my whole day should i be worried?
Hi Dr. Sanjay, im having palpitations and it distracts me and most of the time im thinking that im goin to have an heart attack. I haved been checked about it and the doctor says that there's nothing wrong on my hearth but my ECG says that SINUS TACHYCARDIA and i was diagnose2 with GERD. I really appreciate your page and i really admire you that your educating a lot people suffering from this palpitations. Im on a meta blocker untill now and im planning to take an organic barley supplement.
Hope big pharma n big tech dont get together to shut down our dear, precious Dr Gupta, this lone voice in the wilderness of the medical profession today. You r the peoples' doctor. Bless you!
Mine started after getting my Covid vaccines. Had a Coronary Angiogram and my arteries were "clean as a wistle* at 64 y/o. They are pretty much controlled with my Verapamil. It isn't unusual for me to get arrhythmias after my Losartan that resolves after taking a Magnesium tablet
I had hip surgery 3 months ago and have been having back pains since. I am approaching my 82 nd birthday. I also have IBS and gasteritis. I recently have been so stressed that I haven’t been sleeping at night and developed anxiety. My heart races and pounds plus my blood pressure shoots up in all this. I have heard there is a gut brain connection to stomach and digestive issues.I appreciate some in put from you. Thank you Judy Spaun
This is extra helpful. I pass out every time I have a treadmill test, very suddenly without warning. I thought everyone did; the doctors and nurses didn’t seem to make much of it. But now you’ve got me thinking…I have a lot of falls, some with serious injuries, like in the past 10 years my best year was 2 falls and my worst year was 6. And most of them occur in the last ¼ or ⅓ of an exercise session. I never think I pass out, because I’m always conscious when I hit the ground. But at least half the time I don’t know why I fell. I always thought I was just clumsy, and maybe that’s true, but is it possible to pass out for just a split second? I recently spent the night in a hospital for observation from palpitations and I’m wearing a monitor for one month. I didn’t think the two were related. Just trying to figure this out.
I've had them off and on for years. Im 33 and having this issue drives me sad. I keep thinking about it and I get more anxious. Its not in my head. My mom had a 90% block in her heart a year ago and all the hospital Told her was that she had acid reflex. It wasn't until 2 days later she saw a cardiologist and they called her in for emergwncy surgery for a stint. My grandfather dropped dead at 50 of heart disease and so did his bro. I feel at a loss right now and hope to not have anything seriously wrong
I love you Dr. . I am 43 from the states and I suffer from pac and pvc and also tachychardia and a history of " panic disorder. I always think I'm having a heart attack. your videos are thee BEST!!!!!! your videos are so informative and I often rewatch your videos just to calm me down. your videos are so helpful Sir and thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. it IS appreciated.
No. Not blackouts. Heart pounds, sometimes hurts, I stop, bend over, and things turn yellow not black...I stop just short of completely blacking out. Face goes numb and cold. I have severe allergies and I'm use to anaphylaxis from over the years being exposed and trying to find what was triggering my more severe allergies. So I've had lots of practice keeping myself from blacking out lol. That only happens in rigorous exercise or sudden bending over. Sometimes when I even crouch down and suddenly stand up to quick? Seeing cardiologist soon. Thanks for your videos Dr. Gupta.
I get palpitations during anxiety and stress. I always worry about it. But I have no such history in my family, not even in distant family. My paternal family did have heart diseases but that too in theirs 60s. But they didn't die sudden death at all.
Waiching from India. I have been suffering from palpitations since last year. It suddenly started one day while i was running and after that it started coming every now and then Had holter,Echo ,ECG . I was detected with PVC on holter. Echo test was however normal . Doctor told me to reduce stress and practice breathing exercises. But when the episodes occur,i feel terrified and it gets worse. Your video was v reassuring. Wish u were in India. Much respect from India
I was told I have palpitations and put on zebeta 5mg . It has helped with racing heart but not flutting or skiping beat I feel like I am going to pass out when it happens and get pain in chest back shoulder all so is this normal?
I think a lot of the problem with footballers dropping down dead is directly linked to electrolyte depletion while playing. I am always telling friends at the gym who feel unwell while training and want to pass out that they need electrolytes as this definitely is the problem. I find it hard to believe they do not know this. They flush them out with sweat and water without replacing them. I do not have these issues anymore as I always make sure I drink electrolytes while training and earlier in the day. I drink a lemon and salt as well to balance the salt, magnesium and potassium. I have since come across an article stating this very thing about footballers dropping dead and electrolyte depletion.
I purchase sugar free electrolyte tablets that have all the needed minerals in them. These come in fizzy tablet form to put in water and drink during the day. You can get them in ordinary tablet form or you can make your own. I have them during workouts and in the mornings. I buy separate magnesium and potassium and have those every day. I also drink fresh lemon and water. Usually 2 lemons in a glass of water with a bit of salt. Lemons have potassium and are also not fattening. Salt is needed in the body and the demonisation of salt and fat has caused terrible problems. Excessive salt is obviously a problem but you body needs salt just as it needs other minerals. You need more potassium than salt.
Stephanie www.chainreactioncycles.com/s?q=electrolytes&cat=direct. Gatorade will end up more expensive. The tablets are far more cost effective. There are different brands.

I have had two episodes where I was sleeping and woke up to 1 heart beat every 3 or 4 seconds I had enough time to get up wake someone up then pass out on the floor.I since quit smoking cigarettes 10 yrs or more ago and haven't experienced that particular episode since.I still have alot of different types of palpatations.I highly suggest to quit smoking.
Has anyone experienced these symptoms: Palpitations that seem to start after eating something (usually carbs/sugars), lasting sometimes for 12+ hrs, while using the bathroom feeling faint but not completely blacking out, I have these episodes probably once or twice a month. I check my blood pressure regularly and it's always normal, but my heart rate is on the low side....mostly in the 50's, but has dropped as low as 45. I don't smoke or drink and exercise regularly. I was diagnosed with a heart murmur when I was in the 4th grade. I am now in my 50's. I've had ekg's and they've found nothing. As for the low heart rate they just ask me if I'm an athlete and that's as far as it goes. Any thoughts?
I had sudden palpitations every Day at some point of my age 36. I went to few doctors and all of them were looked at me like i was idiot. Finely cardiologist gave me beta blockers atenalol. Palpitations gone but planty of side efdects that efdects my life stongly. Now i am looking at changing beta blockers at something diffetent like nevibolol. My palpitations were strong i felt like goimg fall down and still cardiologist used to say notbing to worry. That is when you feel of doctor make you feel like you an idiot.
All the blood pressures give you little side effects,,, can't stand the side effects it makes me not enjoy my life quality of life not quantity,,,,,, I don't take him cuz I want to enjoy my life
Whoa, I have a half brother who died at 50 from unknown causes. Should I be taking my palpitations more seriously? Or is heart complications considered common at 50?
Thank you doctor you make me feel release. I was worried when i experienced palpitations normally after meal. I went to see the cardiologist and checked my ecg. It was normal. Tomorrow i will put hotler to monitor the heart beat rythm. Thanks again doctor
Palpitations are dangerous if you have one while driving, if you pass out and hit your head, if you fall down the stairs. I have SVT and it took 2 years to get a diagnosis and get medication despite the fact that I was passing out. The medication stopped working after a few years. I had to insist on seeing a specialist. I had to insist on getting a stress test. Family G Ps are utterly useless when it comes to palpitations. My life has been horribly affected for 7 years. I finally had an ablation and I'm still getting palpitations.
Can you do a video on myocarditis. I was an athlete and got myocarditis which has damaged my heart and it's doing my head in. Messed up my athletic career. I'm strongly considering coming to see you to get a second opinion and some sensible feedback as my NHS cardiologist was awful
Could you be more specific with your terms, ie. is 75 really old? Is 60 young? I appreciate all your videos and information. You are quite reassuring! Thank you!
I was scared to watch this but luckily I don't have any of that. Thank you for this video!! My cardiologist never answers this question when I ask him. I did want to know what tests should be done to check for these? I've had a run-of-the-mill ekg, stress echo, and event and holter monitors. But I've also heard of a t-test, and wondered about MRI/ct scans too. thank you.
I’m 64 female in good shape and not obese. Have a resting heart rate of 60. 2 years ago, for no reason, my heart rate went up to 195 for 45 minutes. I told doctor and I eventually wore a holter for 7 days. Nothing irregular showed on the holter. This past summer, I have had 2 more episodes that lasted almost an hour. A cardiologist told me to go to emergency if it happens again. The problem is that by the time I get to hospital, heart rate will have gone back down. What should I do?
I wake up from sleep several times lately because I feel like my heart beats soooo rapidly in deep sleep without any reason and when I wake up I can see my heart fluttering rapidly although I don't feel any shortness of breath and pain but it wakes me up 🙄
I have had this twice now, I am sleeping and I get women with a racing heart, I usually panic when this happens n i start to feel abit shaky, it's awful and is stealing my peace for sleep
I'm 41 years old now and noticed palpitations when I was about 34 or 35. Scared the hell out of me. I get them off and on. When I get them they will happen everyday for days to weeks even a couple months. Then boom, I'll go a year and nothing. When I was 36 I had a stress test, an ekg and everything came back fine. This January I had an x-ray of my chest (for another medical reason) but they said my heart looked ok. I saved your channel all these years cause sometimes the skipped beats happen so often and the thuds can be so hard it scares me. I watch your video's and feel a lot better. I was born with a heart murmur but it went away and I don't believe it has anything to do with my off and on palpitations. Doctors never said anything about it and they know I was born with that issue. Anyway, I've been dealing with these for at least 6 years off and on so if you're like me don't freak out. I think it's a good idea to get checked but unless you fit the criteria of what Dr. York says just make an appointment and get checked and try to not freak out. If you pass out or what Dr. York said to watch out for again, you can always go to the E.R. or call 911. Best case you spend a night in the hospital and find out you're ok. Worst case you catch something early and can get it taken care of.
My whole root of my panic attacks right here. My mother died suddenly at 27 from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. (Autopsy found this, she did not know) same as my aunt. She died at 41. (Also on maternal side). I have had echos, stress tests, calcium scans, holter, everything has been okay. I do take a statin for many years for lipid issues but it is well controlled with meds. I feel like my whole life I am just awaiting to drop dead. It is an awful feeling.
Vegas Brisa what do you prefer dying from pain of cancer or dying suddenly without suffering? just eat healthy food and be happy and positive, and avoid getting so angry speachly when you are about to sleep! eat supplement such as magnesium and potassium, I'm not a doctor but this is what this doctor is telling us to do! i hope you live more than 100 years.
@@talalaltalalvlogs5181 What amazing advice. I am seeing Cardiologist this Friday so was trying to learn as much as possible...I have atrial fib & PVC's, that said, worrying only causes more stress...I have anxiety so understand it isn't always easy to just walk away from it or trying to control. Once you know what you're facing or dealing with changes how you CAN respond. Without even thinking, I would much rather die of sudden cardiac death then live with cancer - ever. Life is going to be what it is, enjoy every moment...make memories, even if it's petting your animal, looking at a rainbow or that you woke up today...those are what sustains us AND helps when our anxiety cripples us...we seem to ALWAYS be around for another day - with or without anxiety. That's the reality - there is always tomorrow for 99% of us...so live like you're in the 99%...there is life even in anxiety. Greatest gift my doctor (psychiatrist) gave me, "you seem to always wake up"...he was not being mean...he gave me hope...and reality. Good luck to each of you and especially Galaxy 1321 ksa. For the wisdom you imparted.
Leone Rose i really hope from my heart you live more than 100 years, of course with happiness and good health, if you suddenly have anxiety just sit down and just talk to god, tell god about your fear and ask for help, and I'm sure you will feel better, and you need to see your doctor every time you feel there's something wrong with your little sweet heart.
Thank you so very much for these videos..I just started seeing a cardiologist here in the usa.I like that I have some more knowledge from watching you.My Cardiologist welcomed my questions..thank you
Hi Dr Gupta nice to see your video and the great work you are doing. Im 38 years old and had hysterectomy last year. Last 3 weeks having palpitations , ECG has been normal. Due for Holter test tomm n seeing a cardiologist on weekend. Hope my doctor helps me. Will keep posted.
Very enlightening Doc. Thanks very much. I've had relatively mild palpitations since my childhood essentially in moments of anxiety but i never made much of it convinced i was just been in a moment of fear. However i was an active sports person and those palpitations never interfered with my physical exertions...
Brother dropped dead age 44 obese and not on meds and dad heart attack 59 but had arm symptoms . Is there a marker I can look for ? Mom had congestive heart failure in 50’s

Thankyou Sanjay, you’re fantastic with all this information. You’re educating us all. I’m a 60 yr old female who is fit and well , and on no medications. I keep very fit and still teaching fitness classes each day. I’m a non smoker and eat fairly healthily. I had a spell of gentle palpitations ; the longest Ive experienced, say 10 mins , just after I’d eaten my lunch today and was sitting down. Let me clarify that to me I translate “palpitations” as a fluttering sensation of my heart. Have I got this term right ? Should I mention this to my doctor or not ?
My problem is that when I awake up in the middle of the night and yawn, my heart beat really fast. This only happens if I awake in the middle the night. Or if I eat a heavy meal
Thanks doc... I passed out after dancing abut 3 years ago... as of late increased palpitations...I’ll get it checked out.. GP appointment in late June.....again thanks.....
I got away from Magnesium L-Threonate and used regular magnesium and now that I'm having palps again I'm going back to the Magnesium L-Threonate. My pulse is normal but I firmly believe I have a magnesium defficency along with too much stress & caffeine (which I'm working on). Trying not to let things bother me so much but I believe the palps are driven by the lack of quality magnesium and once I start the MLT again they will dissipate like they did before. That stuff is fantastic.
My eldest son died at age 25 from a possible arrythmia or long QT Syndrome but was never confirmed. Should my other adult children get tested for what might be a cardiac issue?

I've been diagnosed with severe anxiety, depression, and have bad sleeping habits. your videos have definitely brought some closure to me. thank you.
Stephanie you've just explained my palpitations, it's so scary everytime it happens, thank you your comment helped me so much💓
Stephanie Leeanne Rae Knight u mirror my anxiety.
Of course the silent killer sleep apnea is accompanied by the WORST heart palpitation episodes.
magnesium deficiency can also cause palpitations. i loaded up on mg rich foods and my palpitations have reduced dramatically.
jonathan absolutely! Potassium, magnesium and sodium imbalances cause mine.
I need to do that. I need more magnesium.
If you like avocados, they are rich in both magnesium and potassium. My palpitations have improved significantly after starting to eat more avocados. I still have them, but I just have started eating avocados often this week.
Magnesium for me
Other than bananas, what kind of food is rich in magnesium? I really don’t have a good diet, so I don’t each much except chipotle, and Dr Pepper lmao
Thanks again for this video! also your calm voice made my worries go away! love it! :D

I want to tell you how wonderful it is out here in the States where I now live,to be able to listen to you with all your information. The fact that you have taken the time to say all this is (excuse the pun) heartwarming! I also feel better hearing your accent because I am originally from the Uk also!
Google is awful, but I always ask Dr Google 🙄
Same here I always googled my symptoms then I get anxious after and ended me going to ER 😆
This video tells me more than my cardiologist. That´s probably sad, isn´t it?
I'm guessing your cardiologist is more interested in money than patient care.
Thank you Dr Gupta, I love your videos, so informative and reassuring. Thank you for being so generous with your time and knowledge! :)
Indeed.
Can you be more precise please, I'd like to try this but I'm not sure how or where
@@petbetpet I cant do more than I have above, as I cannot produce a diagram.
@@isabellajones8535 thank you 😊
@@isabellajones8535 This idea neglects the fact that _palpitations_ is a general term that includes the symptoms of many different conditions. It's quite dubious that a pressure point would actually fix all those problems. And if it didn't fix the underlying problem, of which the arrhythmia is a symptom... are you really satisfied to merely relieve the symptom?? 😮

Thanks Doc, from Eric.
did you get palpilations daily and did it last for like 1 or 2 secs and it has gone away and then after hours they came back?

Thank you Dr Gupta, kind comment on all the points spelt out
Thanks so much for these videos! I learn a lot from them, and it is reassuring to learn I don't have serious issues with afib!
Have you gotten an answer because I’m experiencing something similar
I've had them off and on for years. Im 33 and having this issue drives me sad. I keep thinking about it and I get more anxious. Its not in my head. My mom had a 90% block in her heart a year ago and all the hospital Told her was that she had acid reflex. It wasn't until 2 days later she saw a cardiologist and they called her in for emergwncy surgery for a stint. My grandfather dropped dead at 50 of heart disease and so did his bro. I feel at a loss right now and hope to not have anything seriously wrong

Feeling proud after watching your videos.
thanks Rizwan!
I've been getting palpitations several times a day with dizziness. My mum and brother died suddenly of heart attacks both early 50s. I'm 52
@Commendatore I actually found out it was caffeine that caused it. I drink a lot of coffee, went over to decaf and since then no palpatations.
Same here ,how are you now?
It suddenly started one day while i was running and after that it started coming every now and then
Had holter,Echo ,ECG .
Cecilia De Rossi can you please tell me how you replenish your electrolytes?
Cecilia De Rossi could you link the tablets? :) also, do you think a daily bottle of Gatorade may replenish them??
Stephanie www.chainreactioncycles.com/s?q=electrolytes&cat=direct. Gatorade will end up more expensive. The tablets are far more cost effective. There are different brands.

I have had two episodes where I was sleeping and woke up to 1 heart beat every 3 or 4 seconds I had enough time to get up wake someone up then pass out on the floor.I since quit smoking cigarettes 10 yrs or more ago and haven't experienced that particular episode since.I still have alot of different types of palpatations.I highly suggest to quit smoking.
Eating greasy food, soda(dark sodas) and then anxiety creates palpitations
Is your heart palpitations normal now???
@@MohimanR now normal unless in stress or panic situation

First time listening Doc. Great information and keep up the great work!
I really wish you could be my cardiologist. Mine just doesn't seem to care
Such a comforting Video after years..
Thank you!
He mentioned anyone above 50 year olds
Sir, according to my holter monitoring report, my heart rate is 130 per minute... what will I do Sir. I feel tensd about this matter.
Again, thank you SO much! (You are a God send)!

I wake up from sleep several times lately because I feel like my heart beats soooo rapidly in deep sleep without any reason and when I wake up I can see my heart fluttering rapidly although I don't feel any shortness of breath and pain but it wakes me up 🙄
Me too!

What amazing advice.
Thank you for this!! It has calmed me greatly.
Thank you so very much for these videos..I just started seeing a cardiologist here in the usa.I like that I have some more knowledge from watching you.My Cardiologist welcomed my questions..thank you

How're you doing now?
Hi Dr Gupta nice to see your video and the great work you are doing. Im 38 years old and had hysterectomy last year. Last 3 weeks having palpitations , ECG has been normal. Due for Holter test tomm n seeing a cardiologist on weekend. Hope my doctor helps me.
Will keep posted.

Doctor put me on Atenolol and palpitations stopped. Maybe it will work for someone else too.
Now I understand the difference of AF and Atr flutter both of which I have had .Ablation has eliminated both I hope for a long time
I want an ablation if it'll make the irregular beats go away, im having them all through the day and now at nite
Very enlightening Doc. Thanks very much. I've had relatively mild palpitations since my childhood essentially in moments of anxiety but i never made much of it convinced i was just been in a moment of fear. However i was an active sports person and those palpitations never interfered with my physical exertions...
A very useful boon information to anxiety and panic attack patient....thankyou
Thank you for making this video. This really helped me.
Brother dropped dead age 44 obese and not on meds and dad heart attack 59 but had arm symptoms .
Is there a marker I can look for ? Mom had congestive heart failure in 50’s
I am diagnosed with venticular extrasystole I and I feel almost everyday it's disturb my normal life and Dr. game me medicine metroplol and he found my blood pressure is high and for my self I felt my heart is nocking my chest wall after using this medicine in days I completely don't feel my heart is nocking and I felt good what's is that thnks
Any update? Or diagnosis?
Thanks doc... I passed out after dancing abut 3 years ago... as of late increased palpitations...I’ll get it checked out.. GP appointment in late June.....again thanks.....
This is so helpful and clearly explained, thank you!
Hope u reply please doctor ...i went to doctors they havent said anything serious to me but am still nervous
My eldest son died at age 25 from a possible arrythmia or long QT Syndrome but was never confirmed. Should my other adult children get tested for what might be a cardiac issue?
what if you develop palpitations from taking medicine?
