Most I've ever done was 635 at 165 bodyweight, i could've done more I felt but wanted to play my last lift safe so now 4 years later at 220ish getting back that strength again God willing 🙏🏼

I went for a pr on bench today. I’ve been trying to hit 225 for months. Not only did I hit it for 1, I did it for 3 and felt like I could’ve done more. Tbh I was so pumped I wanted to throw the barbell and jump and scream but thankfully I was able to control myself. When I laid down on the bench, I looked at that bar and in my head thought “I’m tired of you beating me, I refuse to let you beat me again”. When I racked it I was shocked. I didn’t know what happened to me. It was like I snapped. I felt like I lost control of myself. But in the end I’m just proud of myself for doing it. I just need to watch myself in the future and make sure I don’t let the rage take control.

When I got 225 all I did was bench really hard and farted. And was like aight then. Cuz 225 is mid 💀

my buddy came back from basic training and told what one of the instructors said, "most give up at about the 80% mark, claiming they gave their all, when they actually left 20% in the tank. what basic is here to do is unlock your full potential, giving everything you got until your body cant handle and gives out. Thats when you know you've given everything you got." got kind of impacted by and that started hitting ever work out with that mentally. used spend 1-1.5hrs in the gym. Now, its 3 and honestly I could keep going. unfortunately however I still have go to work, and mouths to feed.
Nice! 225 is the first major milestone we’ve all been there. I remember how bad I wanted it and how good it felt. I think your 1rm is near 245, which is impressive it took me at least a month to reach after 225.
