In hindsight, I feel like her team was trying too hard to have her keep up with Beyonce. No fault at all to Brandy because she was just doing her thing but this era deserved so much better because the music was soooooo amazing!
Facts. Instead of just letting her sing her face off like she was known for. Brandy never needed gimmicks or to strip and force being sexy to make her point.
That’s exactly what I thought when I saw this video many years ago. Beyoncé just started her solo career and Crazy in Love was HUGE when Brandy released this song and the music video.
I always imagined this video having a broadway stage setup. Black and white uniform, bright lights... and awesome choreography. Something like what USHER wouls have done a la "Bad Girl" from Confessions. Pure stage music video. Maybe i should have been director. I was 15 when this dropped. I felt that way then and still do.... but i agree ALBUM WAS HOT AND SO INSPIRING!
Thank you! I felt similar! The story was so provocative and scandalous so there was so much room for vision and to experiment but this video just gave watered down Crazy In Love vibes with the shorts, the outside shots, the sweaty but glossy aesthetic, and the hair blowing in the wind.
Also Atlantic made a HORRIBLE decision and decided to release Afrodisiac as a single exclusively in the UK, that single would’ve boosted the album so much and done so well if they released it in the US

This is categorically false. Nobody needed to keep up with Beyoncé in 2004.
Well, only Kelly Rowland.
Never thought I would see this footage again, thanks. I loved the simplicity of this video, beautifully shot.RIP to Eric Ferrell 🙏🏾!!!

@SoSillyWilly26 yea. Something bright like the song. Lights and acting more...brandy can act so it woukd have been unlike anything else video wise
You are the best Joseph. Thank you to always sharing some great contents about our Queen Brandy 🔥

This song was bomb....but video I'm disappointed in her team
This era gave mid low budget
