So true. I feel like all of her albums, since she was exposed, have been grossly underrated. I didn’t like that she lied to us but it certainly wasn’t an unforgivable thing. Beyoncé gets CAUGHT in her lies and is always being accused of stealing and other awful things but she has never been held accountable or had to suffer from any of the bad behavior she’s displayed, including the way she treated her grp mates. That being said, I think it’s possible, that Brandys career was sabotaged. Along with Aaliyah, Mariah Carey, Ashanti, and Mya, for starters.

“Afrodisiac” and “who is she 2 u” are in my top from this album. I love hearing all this info again. I was active on the beatclub forums at the time and we were all waiting for the album, not knowing how amazing it would end up. If I recall correctly they were about to film a video for Adios or Black Pepper. Although I love Talk About Our Love, they should’ve given Tim the first single. Another album that’s in the same vein as this is Kiley Dean’s leaked but never released Simple Girl. Same writers and Tim. Thanks for the great video.

Afrodisiac ( I also have noticed tons of people saying in recent years that this is their favorite, it wasn’t that way sometime ago 👀 though I’m glad people are finally coming around and seeing it’s greatness) is my personal favorite album from her, it takes me to a time and place, it’s quite nostalgic for me. I lived through this era in real-time, when I listen to it I feel like a pre-teen all over again. To add, Human(it’s truly underrated, the pop sound worked so well with her voice, I loved the unreleased tracks from this era as while) and 2/11 also have a special place in my heart.

From the ones you mentioned, I particularly love Human! Right Here is a classic and songs like Shattered Heart and Something’s Missing are amongst my all time Brandy faves. Plus all the leaks from that era: Freedom, Drum Life, Surprise Ending, After The Flood… so many amazing songs! 😍

I adore Nodding Off and I wish it made the main tracklist. Brandy was so ahead of the game with Afrodisiac.
Lyrically, her best work. The songwriting on Afrodisiac is TOP tier
