    In theory, this is a pretty simple install. Watching a professional is going to save me a lot of time as I'm repairing the installation of someone else's efforts. Thank you for taking the time to shoot this video.

    Thanks for sharing. This has shown me what I needed in order to tackle a small DIY at home, after I discovered an area of pooling water, due to incorrect gutter angles.

    So useful! I’m going to fix these shonky gutters around my house now. Might even route one to a tank, who knows. Thanks again.

    You make it look so easy, not even one scratch or cut on your hand, full pro!
    Unfortunately I need to install a downpipe on an already existing gutter.

    Very swift and clear, I think I can do this now. What kind or grade of caulk or sealant is used? Exterior for outside for certain, but is it silicone or some other RTV?

    I have just had all gutters replaced, and the plumbers used this method. 2 weeks later my gutters are blocked and overflowing into the eaves. Why? Because sitting the pops above the gutter creates a small levee bank, which we add to with a row of silicon, and then the leaves and dirt start to build. Is it possible/legal to install the pops UNDER the gutter, so water will flow straight down which is really what it is all about?

    Great idea putting sealant under the pop up. Anyone got ideas why he did the rivets from underneath? Thought they would be flatter if done from above

    • @matt73d
      @matt73d 9 лет назад +1

      No idea, cause the leader would would hide those rivets anyways and you are right about them being flatter when done from above. I wish he would answer cause I am curious too.

      @Ash1959 2 года назад

      I'm guessing so that it looks visually neater plus protruding rivet ends potentially could hinder a flush fit of the downpipe.

    Another video on how not to do gutters!! Mark the gutter with an elbow or peace of down spout. Then use a sharp chisel and a hammer and cut and x corner to corner then fold those tabs down then with zip screws attach the elbow to the 2 side tabs.. easy peasy no caulk no obstructions … been installing gutters like this for years… and stop stepping on the gutter

    Why out rivets in and then remove them? I'm so confused at this step?
    Wouldn't you just align the droppers then screw the holes, silicone then rivet as a final step?

      Gotta get rid of the swarf

    • @livens100
      @livens100 3 года назад +2

      My guess is it prevents misalignment between all of the other holes. The first two temporary rivets hold the insert in place while he drills the other ones. If you tried drilling all 10 holes at once at least a few would get out of alignment.

    the problem with this is you see all your rivets from the bottom of the gutter. I pop two real close to the outlet and let my downspout cover it .

    Could have done with some narrative for example to explain why riveting is done from one side not the other. Workmanship is rough.

      Pop rivets and rivet gun, some silastic or similar gutter sealant and tin snips. Of course a drill and drill bit. I think you get the idea.

  • @Handlethetruth666
    @Handlethetruth666 2 месяца назад

    Would’ve been better job with a jigsaw . Not distorting the metal pulling it about with snips

  • @miguelaaragon7688

    is easier if you use a hole saw

    • @DonkeyCongoSnipe
      @DonkeyCongoSnipe 8 лет назад +1

      Hole saw will heat up the gutter and cause it to rust, that's why you don't use and angle grinder either
