KETO & LOW CARB FRIENDLY SALAD🥗
Ingredients: Cucumbers/Tomatoes/Vinegar/Olive Oil/Salt & Pepper
Hello Everyone!!! This is a Salad that I ate back in the Day as a child. I’ve lose lots of weight eating this salad. I ate this for lunch and dinner along with some baked chicken, fish or pork chop (not much red meat) and a fruit. For Breakfast I ate some oatmeal sprinkled with a sweetener and a little real butter & a fruit (strawberries, oranges, apples or grapefruit) Or I ate a couple pieces of bacon and 2 eggs. For snack I ate a Fruit before Bedtime. (4 fruits total per day) & I Drank Plenty of Water All Day!
Salad Recipe:
2 Large Cucumbers
1 medium Onion
1 package of Cherry Tomatoes
3 Tablespoons of White Vinegar
1 or 2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper to taste

My mom used to make me this salad thanks! I appreciate people who do simple videos it really helps a lot for us who don’t remember and can’t ask their mom 💕
Same with my mom. I still make it today! So good, esp. on hot summer days. Mon used to grate the cucumbers almost paper thin! Add salt, pepper, extra virgin olive oil, and vinegar and your good to go!
Salad Recipe:
2 Large Cucumbers
1 medium Onion
1 package of Cherry Tomatoes
3 Tablespoons of White Vinegar
1 or 2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper to taste

How about Red onion instead? And some green onion (scallions) also to add some color? Maybe Apple Cider Vinegar or Red Vin. for added flavor?? Otherwise a good basic salad. Thanks for the vid.

My grandma used to make this. Everything came from the garden so I still think of this as a summer salad. I make it often but add a little fresh dill. The rest is the same. I love it!
I remember more than sixty years ago my mother making that salad exactly as you do it. All these decades later STILL one of my favorites. A summer salad fit for kings.
My Grandmother had the best garden and we'd pick fresh cucumbers, tomatoes and green onions then combined with vinegar and oil, salt and pepper and ate with just about anything. Plus sometimes she'd add cooked macaroni and mayonnaise for another summer salad. I'm 61 years old and it feels like yesterday. Food is love. xoxoxo

America Marie, my Maternal Grandma had garden too just pull a tomato and little salt or sugar and eat like that,WOW. she grew grapes OMG right off the vine down my tummy, plus she made wine, and it tasted so good, I would go down her cellar and snoop, I was 8 years young then , now I am 80 young. My Paternal Grandfather had a farm and had chickens roaming , pigs, other cattle and much vegetable garden, he let me drive his tractor, what a ball I had and that was the best of my growing up. Went to Catholic School, and VETERAN, UNITED STATES AIR FORCE, 1956/1958, UNDER THE GREAT PRESIDENT DWIGHT DAVID EISENHOWER. I ALSO PUT MYSELF THROUGH COLLEGE. i HAVE 4 WONDERFUL CHILDREN, TWO ARE WITH JESUS, AND MY SON IN CALIFORNIA, HE IS MY MAN AND SON THAT CARES ABOUT MA MA.Sorry I got winded, but I thaught my son how to cook and he cook the class in High School, also in ROTC. Very Mediterranean and so--o healthy! I love to add crumbled feta cheese and Kalamata olives just after tossing the salad. This is called the Greek Village Salad . . . . delicious!!

I made it for our July 4th cookout. Really simple and tastes good! (I added a little more vinegar and oil, for it to marinate in)
LOVE LOVE LOVE this salad! Sometimes I switch it up and use red wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar. Some in my group don't care for cherry tomatoes, how can you not love a cherry tomato? I eat them by the handful right off the vine! For those, I use a Roma, San Marzano or beefsteak tomato. I love onions and have been know to use green onions, red onions, ramps or whatever is ready in my yard.
Just harvested a bunch of cherry tomatoes and one big cucumber. Thank you for the recipe. Will be having it with dinner tonight 🙂

The cucumber, onion and tomato salad looks delicious. Both versions. I will be giving them a try.
Love this salad! You can also stuff it with some sour cream to get a creamy consistency. I try to use extra tomatoes and really ripe tomatoes that start leaking and mixing with the sour cream, so you get this nice pink cream sauce.

I'm glad to see other people say the same things I was thinking. I could listen to this grandmother talk all day. She has a soothing voice, she reminds me so much of my grandmother, God I miss my grandmother. But watching and listening to you put a smile on my face. With all the junk that's going on in this world, I wish we had more people like you. Why is it grandmothers or mothers food taste so great. Maybe it's because not to sound sappy but the love that they put into making it. My grandma never measured she mixed with her hands and the food was always excellent .

AAAH!!! MS Brenda:. This recipe brings back shades of my childhood! My mother (RIP) used to make this when we were young (75 now and my sister is 77). We had our own garden with plenty of cukes, onions and tomatoes left over to bring to church on Sunday! We used to keep this in the fridge all summer long. Good memories! Great job!

There’s nothing like our Mother’s cooking and recipes. I’ve been saying that too. Why mine doesn’t taste like my Mother’s? The only conclusion I could come up with is...We are missing all that love she added to her recipes. We may come close to the taste but we just can’t replace that love. Just wanted to share that. Cucumbers, tomatoes and onions are a traditional Greek salad. Of course we use olive oil with the vinegar. It's a great food for weight loss.
My granny used to make this all the time during the summer when folks gave her tomatoes and cucumbers from their garden and there is nothing like a fresh tomato and cucumber salad from the garden. they taste great!
And here I thought it was a traditional Italian salad! Lol!

This is what I mostly ate during the summer because it was lite yet filling and the fresh tomatoes and cucumbers came from the garden . It was great when I was young!
