Ever since RTS was announced more than 10 years ago, residents from both countries have been waiting patiently for the new cross-border method that is way more efficient and convenient. Current services provided by KTM shuttle are not sufficient and also includes extra waiting time at the respective train stations. When RTS is completed, SG and MY will be more connected than ever and this will bring amazing economic progress to both nations!

actually, JB Sentral is the northern terminus for the KTM Tebrau Shuttle Train while Woodlands Train Checkpoint is its southern terminus. nevertheless, you also show us the ground views of the Woodlands North MRT Station (12:30 to 13:01) in this video. it's just that you can label the MRT station in the next monthly RTS link progress video whenever you drive past that MRT station in the future.
he said "southern terminus of the KTM Intercity" and "Shuttle Terbau train services", which is apparently correct as JB Sentral is the southern terminus for the KTM Intercity line (connected to northern terminus in Gemas)

RTS will help ease but not solve the congestion at the causeway. Those on bike will still bike their way to their work place. The same to those on factory buses. RTS will be a joy for those currently on public buses and also tourist. Perhaps they will have lesser public bus frequencies by then. They could open up 1 more lane for motorbike during the rush hours. Gone were the days when we had to walk across the causeway during heavy congestion.

Construction timeframe does not depend on distance. It only means a single contractor can build the station & the line, as in this case (one contractor each on both sides for each country), unlike the EDTP Gemas-JB which needed sub-contractors & was split into 5 contracts. But the timeframe is still the same because you are constructing buildings. The amount of time depends on how much time is needed to construct these structures. Not the distance.
@@byteme9718 you are not alone in hoping that the construction of the RTS can be completed sooner. But I'd rather a delayed but great transit system which can benefit everyone in the long term, than a quick but sloppily completed project which brings further troubles instead of solutions.
@@byteme9718 I wouldn't say it "lacked capacity" yet, considering that Shuttle Tebrau is running only every 60-90mins, as compared to the RTS, which will run every 3.6 - 6mins & can carry up to 1069 pax per trainset as compared to Tebrau's 240 pax per train. But yea, I do agree that it will not be enough to solve the Causeway woes, otherwise the SG Government would not even think of expanding the Woodlands Checkpoint even in the midst of this & the transition to Automated clearance.
Pembinaan RTS LINK Malaysia - Singapura sepatutnya menggunakan kaedah pembinaan terowong bawah laut berbanding pembinaan di permukaan laut. Pembinaan kaedah dasar laut akan membebaskan Selat Tebrau daripada sekatan laut dan akan memberi manfaat kepada negara dengan serentak membenarkan laluan kapal dagang keluar masuk Selat secara bebas. Tetapi kerana pembinaannya kini dilakukan di atas paras laut, Selat Tebrau akan disekat pada masa yang sama kapal komersial tidak akan dapat keluar masuk dan ini akan memudaratkan Malaysia.
