Out of all the similarities you pointed out, the protagonist looking like Kyoko/Makoto had me the most intrigued. This might sound insane but imagine if this is somehow related to the DR series? I know it sounds insane and out of nowhere but that's the kind of thing Kodaka would pull out wouldn't he? ...eh i'm probably overthinking it, either way i can't wait to try this out.
I am really interested in seeing how this will turn out. With Rain Code the new areas give me Persona 5 vibes. Which I really enjoy. With this new setting and without this being connected to the Danganronpa plot it will open up more opportunities to add more creative ideas and really have fun with a new murder mystery universe. The setting looks really beautiful {I am a sucker for beautiful new settings. Before with Danganronpa the cast was stuck in one building. In Death Comes True, it is in a building as well. I haven’t played World’s end club. But to see what Kodaka’s writing will be like in a setting like a city and how that could effect the murder mystery plot could be interesting and have a lot of potential. There are some things we don’t know about the game.}
The first trailer got me hyped. The visual style is great and seems to be a bit less cringy than DR2/V3 (i love those games but my god some characters make me question that). And then i kinda forgot about it, but now with this trailer my hype got rejuvenated and i'm so ready for this. A new premise is also such a breath of fresh air, with DR they showed how they could twist an existing formula a lot but i like even more the idea of creating something new this time, without being chained by DRs expectations

Nobody has commented here in a while, so let me break the silence for anyone still watching this. Play this game if you liked danganronpa, it's not the same but it's genuinely amazing. If you liked the mystery elements of danganronpa, you will love this games story. I will say the gameplay isn't amazing, but in terms of visuals sound and story, I think it's great. I'm probably going to write a video essay on why I think the game is good at some point myself lol.
