there are a lot of old sega fans dev'ing these days for old consoles (and do it for free). finding the most knowledgeable and creative fan dev'ers would be the best next move if sega decides they want to step into the market again. as fans we know the stories deeply, and as beginning dev'ers we wouldn't cost nearly as much to employ.
as for a "new" console, i think it'd be better to create a machine closer to that of
an arcade unit, complete with crt monitor (think about the look of a crt tv/dvd combo) for lightgun games (because ir controllers are just slow). retro gamers are obsessed with the accuracy of ports, but that would be a non-issue if we were finally given the real versions to buy/play on hardware that very closely resembles the real thing. heck, even if the hardware is emulated (if sh-2s and 4s shot up in price for some reason) , but have legit monitors/peripherals it'd be good.
lol, let atgames handle the manufacturing like with the newest genesis model.
1 last thing... can you activate my sega-16 forums account already... i've been trying to get this done for 2 years now it seems, which is really discouraging... ... ...

I took the survey. I am hoping this will help them get back to making good games again. I don't care if they want to make mobile games as long as they continue to make console games. There's a huge potential for earning with all the franchises they have sitting around. I hope this is the starting point to bringing those back in their former glory. I was upset that Sega-16 wasn't mentioned.

I hope SEGA finally makes the push soon to revive their IP's. The 3-D versions of SEGA classics on 3DS titles is a good start but I agree the next logical step would be HD Remakes on Steam and consoles.

I find it interesting they had this servery and right after they added new DLC for Dawn of War II. (Spoiler: the Necron Overlord is awesome.)

I did the survey, and re-checked just now, and the Shining series was not mentioned in the list of IP's, Skies of Arcadia was but not Shining Force.
I get that they want to restore consumer confidence, but they still haven't fixed all the damage they said they would from their Shining series rampage years ago so it would take a TON of work for them to regain my confidence or even convince me to buy a product I already know I'd enjoy (Valkyria remaster for example)
I've always felt its a shame that SEGA lost their way so badly, ignoring IP's, mismanaging others because they were my formative gaming years in a nutshell, so I would welcome SEGA fixing their mistakes and returning to form, I have just learned to not get my hopes up.

I wish Sega would hire M2 to do sequels to genesis titles in a revved up 16 bit style like they did for Konami with the rebirth series on wii
