I've been on your discord for nearly a year now. The only negative is I've bought way more books than normally I would have. At the same time I've read many great books

Discord has been so useful as a central place to post stuff. Especially as Twitter has become more and more unuseable.

Thanks for this, Olly. I keep hearing about Discord but haven't had time to look into it. It would be fun to connect with everyone this way, but with a full-time job and two special-needs kids, I'm lucky that I have time to run a channel at all. I'll keep it in mind for the future!

Thanks for the great info although I don't do Discord or plan to. It just doesn't interest me (and now I have seen what it looks like even less so😄). Booktube comments are about the only social media I participate in.
The mobile app may be sufficient for some people but the desktop experience is far superior from an ease of navigation and accessibility point of view.
As you say, it takes some getting used to though...
Yeah I find it easier to jump about and keep track of things on desktop for sure

Hey, DDB! I totally get where you're coming from. I struggle to be fully present on Discord without falling into that social media cycle. That being said, it's a fun way to chat with BookTube friends. So I tend to be active on Discord about one week per month. Seems like the best compromise to me.

Discord is great but I end up spending more money on books as a result. I just tell my wife “It’s Criminolly and MJ’s fault!”
