around a year ago I bought a guinea piggy from a pet store (piggies are rare where I live, I couldn't find one to adopt), and it was a male. from day one I would really be careful with his diet and made sure he would get all the needed nutrients, and his diet would mostly consist of fresh food. he was always chubby and lazy. so a nice morning after a couple of months of owning him, I opened the cage to clean it, and under the house, I saw a skinny piggy (my "male piggy") and a tiny little floof ball staring back at me. went straight to the vet, both were fine, and I was lucky enough to have a litter of only one piggy, also female. so now I have two cuties, but I had no idea she was pregnant at the time.
I thought my piggy was pregnant. Turned out she was just overweight. I had to get her an outdoor playpen so she can run and get exercise but most of the time she lays on the grass while eating it.
I got my guinea pig for Christmas from the spca and tonight I look in the cage and saw a little guinea EDIT: 3 years later and i have an update, the little baby boy born, Woody, only survived for 2 months
Yeah, I'm also very happy that I was able to have a guinea pig from his first day to now. However, I don't wanna encourage others to breed on purpose without knowing the risks :)
How did you rehome them? My guinea pig is pregnant right now and I want to start planning the rehoming process because I don’t have enough space to take care of all the babies
Even though this video is a bit old, I'm very thankful because we adopted a pregnant guinea pig last summer because nobody else would take her. However, both she and her two babies passed away. Regardless, I'm so thankful for all of your videos and you've been a huge help.
My Guinea pig was pregnant twice. In the first litter, all babies and the mother survived. In the second litter of 6, 3 survived, but the rest didn't make it :( . May all of my Guinea pigs who passed away be happy in heaven. I also hope that everyone in the comment sections pets who passed away are happy. May god be with you all. ❤️
When i got my guinea pig Ruffles she was pregnant and we didn't know until a month before she gave birth. All of the babies were fine and healthy. Ruffles gave birth at a good age and she had three pups. Me and my mother watched her give birth and had to help her a bit. She had three boys, who we gave to trusted pet owners.
Thank you! I'm having an accidental litter and this makes me feel a little bit better about the pregnancy. So far momma is doing really well, and eating lots of veggies. Just worried about her because she isnt even a year old
@@velvetdarksoul8741 she did totally fine! I came home and heard a squeak and boom baby. Then in about another 3 min another baby. She cleaned them and ate the placenta. She did really good, and babies are healthy!
We bought one guinea pig at a store that already was pregnant. So we didn't know about it. But luckily it only got one guinea pig. We had 2 after that :D
happened to me as well :P I got a guinea pig from someone who rescued guinea pigs who said that the girls had never been with any boars in the cage ... And one day a little baby suddenly looked up to us from the cage :D
Same story here, but she had three. :D There was no problems whatsoever, we loved them. However, my sistergot allergic to their fur, so we had to give them away. :/
Playing... i also was allergic to them but we dealed with it. I just had to shower everytime I cuddled with them and we removed them out of my room into another one. :)
i wish my guinea pigs weren't scared of me. maybe its cuz i tried picking them up once and they were scared... oh well :( HOW DO I FIX THIS THEY ARE TERRIFIED OF ME I ONLY PICKED THEM UP TWICE AND I GIVE THEM FOOD AND UHHGG
Put their cage right next to where you normally sit, and make it high enough that they can look *down* on you when they come to the side. This makes you "smaller" than they are, and therefore more interesting than scary. Once or twice a day, peek over the edge of their cage, make scritchy talky noises. If/when they come to investigate, be ready with some of their favorite food to give them. Try that for a while and see if it helps.
Just be calm, gentle, and slow. Move verrrryyyy slowly. If you think you're moving slowly enough, move more slowly. To interact with them, as much as you can, get down to their level. Remember: they're prey animals. Anything that's not green or another guinea pig potentially wants to eat them.
Years ago when I was still a teenager and came home from school I saw something near my guinea pig. She had become a mom. I was almost crying seeing that. They were both healthy and happy.
i got given a guinea pig called marley and she and jack my other one shared a cage . i think she was very far into the pregnancy when she got an eye infection . we got a vet to order us some medicine but that day she passed. isaw her stomache move a little then it violently shuddered and then stopped . about 1 hour after. i massaged the stomache and it moved again but it was too late when we could do anything !😓😷😭😢🐹
Steph Brooks omg the same thing happened to mine..??? She was pregnant and very close to having her babies and she had a horrible eye infection and passed away a week ago
I went to a rescue a couple of months ago and ended up rescuing 2 guinea pigs called penguin and biscuit. They were neglected by their breeder sadly. Best decision I've ever made as they are happy as ever and porky! Always adopt. :)
ItsGamer_Dark I’m very sorry for your loss. I know how it feels to lose a pet because my cat and fish died. I hope your guinea pig is watching over you.
we bought 3 female piggies and 2 have ended up being pregnant. we've done a significant amount of research to make sure they're safe and healthy and we're really hoping that they'll be ok since they're very young. there's a very good piggie vet in my state we might visit if things go wrong. thank you for these suggestions and tips.
HELP!!! I adopted a pregnant Guinea pig and she gave birth five days ago and two of the Guinea pigs are loosing all of their hair I'm confused and scared!!
I am about to go on vacation and have to wait two weeks to get my pig or pigs! I can't wait! I already set up the entire cage!. So much thanks to Little Adventures, as she has taught me so much!
I just got my two guinea pigs a month or so ago. They are already pretty comfortable with me and they were both male. Or so I thought. Turns out one was a female and is now pregnant. She's only a little more than 3 month old and I have picked her up multiple times before I knew she was pregnant. Now I'm super scared that something might go wrong because I'm super attached to it already. And if it goes well which I hope I will keep all babies.
Rescued a few guinea pigs and both the females were preggers. I found a GREAT home for the other female and her bonded partner. This video was amazing and very helpful. Thanks.
There is so many Guinea pigs that need homes and people just breed for babies and so many young one s still need homes and yes mine had 6 but one passed away and mine was bred when she was 1-2 years old it's sad how people just don't care for these animals
+Rainbowhamster39 I know, I feel the same way! My guinea pig was pregnant when we got her but we didn't know and it was an accident. But it makes me sad knowing that so many animals are abandoned in shelters, and people are still breeding!
We are thinking off breeding them for our local farm for the guniea pig section they will have massive cages 😠😡😡 so I care about them guniea pigs breed if they didn't no guniea pig would be alive 😡😡😡
Eleanor Laing Of course guinea pigs breed, but there are so many in shelters, but people still breed more which is not fair to the ones in the shelters. Tell the farm to adopt instead of you breeding for them.
I bred my guinea pig so that she would have someone to play with. I live in a completely rural area and a pet store is 3 hours away. If i did go to the pet store, i would have to pay $120 for two piggies. There are also no guinea pig rescues unless you drive maybe eight hours. I understand the risks of breeding and i also feel bad for all the piggies that need homes, but i think breeding guinea pigs is okay as long as you know what to do and the risks. 👌
I have 15 of them and 2 r pregnant. These vids help me a lot. Especially when she’s young. We have not even a year old one maybe 6-7 months and she’s very pregnant. She lived with 2 boys and then got pregnant after. She is now living with most the girls and they r all very supportive of her.
Your vids have helped me tremendously back late February I had gotten 2 3 month old pigs and thought they were both boys the pet shop didn't know but I was checking them weekly and came to the conclusion they were in fact both boys but ended having a change in nature and the one I knew for a fact was a boy was really a girl and she is at this point almost due so this vid is helping me get ready for their arrival
my family breeds white crested and we take very good care of our mothers in fact we have only lost 4 baby's and we give them kitten milk suplmints is they are very small and over time we give them critical care but the moms get calf mana to produce a good supply of milk
I had a question. My wife is 15 weeks pregnant. In the past week I’ve noticed a change in my guinea pig (Shiloh). Especially when my wife is around, Shiloh seems much more lovable than she usually is. Do you think Shiloh can sense that my wife has a growing baby in her???
My guinea pigs were ment to be girls, my mom always suspected that one of them was a boy ( my mom thought fifi was a boy and misha was thought to be a girl which she was ) fifi was always showing that she wants to gave BEBE. I never understood why and we even went to the vet to check if fifi was a girl which they said "she" was. After a few months mishas stomach started getting pretty big. I just thought she was getting a little fat. Today, when I was cleaning their cage I found a tiny little slimy guinea pig baby and I was devistated... mishas stomach was back to normal. In the shop they said "fifi is a girl" the vets said "fifi is a girl" I am in so much pain and rage and suffering. I am so done. Misha is still alive which is good ..
I feel for you.. Few people seemed to care about those creatures.. I was also angry about the Shop because they say they made no mistake. Okay, then the distributor should be responsible.
If you saw my other comment you what I'm talking about so let jump into the story:I went to a pet store to get a guinea pig for my birth day,we had most of the stuff we needed at home,but our cage was way to small.This pet store was different than the one in the last story it had glass cages on shelves and there were two guinea pigs in a cage,each seprated by gender.The guinea pig I saw was from a shelter but no one went to that shelter so they let the store have the for a day to put out in the store to sell,they were in guinea pig caged on tables so It was pretty easy to see them.I saw a guinea pig running around in It's cage and I went over,I saw it come up to me as i sat down by the cage.She was very social and loving and liked to explore.I loved her and pet her nose,she didn't teeth chatter or run away just sat there and let me pet her nose.She was only five dollars and i was set on getting her.Then my dad pointed out another guinea pig in the back just sitting there.She was this guinea pigs sister,I asked if I could get both as they were sisters and only ten dollars for both and my dad said yes.The one I like was a darker piggy we'll the other one was a lighter piggy i named em dawn and dusk.Ima make a part two this is getting too long ;w;
I have recently been considering the fact that one of mine might be male (and the other 2 weeks pregnant) so I have spent this week researching as much as possible! My vet doesn’t think it’s an emergency so I’m just trying to reduce stress as much as possible! This has been helpful and I still don’t know if she is so if not then at least I’ve gained loads of knowledge!
I had a pregnant piggie once, she was a rex and very tame. I remenber feeling the babies move in her stomach it was so sweet. She had two babies, a boy and a girl, the boy shared a cage with it's dad and the girl lived with its mom and the other females
My guinea pigs pregnancy was a surprise, cause after we had goten her from the pet store she had given birth in about a week later, so one of the other guinea pigs in the girl section was a male.
I got a guinea pig we were told was a male about two to three months later we found out it was pregnant because in the morning we woke up to five little babies with her. it was so cute but it was very hard and we ended up giving them away because we did not know how to handle it this video definitely taught me a lot❤
keep feeling her belly daily like.. just softly put your hands around it and you will for sure feel movement when shes in the last 2 weeks. sometimes you can SOFTLY shake the belly, then theyll most likely move
My guinea piggy was misgendered, when we got him a year ago. So when we (slowly of course) introduced the new piggy, everything seemed normal and they acted normal, they were together months, almost a year, before getting pregnant. Bean (who we now know is a boy) is one year, and the sow, Coconut, is 2 years old. I know its risky for her to be much older, I am kind of anxious. I am making sure everything is in tip top shape and have a vet on call in case things go south. I of course, did cry. Both joy and disappointment. I didn't want to be one to bring in more piggies when so many more need a home all over, but I am so happy for them. Just hope the labor goes well. I wish I knew when exactly she got pregnant, we only discovered this today, and having Bean for a year now, now we know he is a boy. To clarify, when the two piggies met, they acted like normal as if they were both females, and it was normal up until about a week or two ago. They were together months (again, almost a year, about 9 months or so) before this happened, and Coconut was not pregnant before, until now. As of right now, her belly is not super big, but we feel about one lump on each side of her, but very small, hard to feel yet, so I do not know how far along she is, hopefully someone can help me estimate that. If you read this, thank you. Just a little ramble, I hope someone could follow up with any insight, or recommendations, thank you! ^^ ps: they have been separated since we found out. Really sweet though, they seem a little bummed to be away from one another.
Right now I have a female guineapig and a male. She is not pregnant yet but I just wanted to be prepared. When the mother gives birth, does the father need to be separated and for how long? And can they be neutered or spayed after she gives birth?
Shadøw Cat 2006 Usually it's recommended that the father is seperated for three to four weeks and that any male babies are seperated from both the mother and the girls at about 3 weeks and the girls too if you don't plan on keeping them. Good luck! :)
Ghaztly Cat 2006 my male guinea pig is great, he's had a good 3 litters and I've never separated them he's a lovely father and has never scraped with his babies or mate.
I got two girl pigs from the shelter a couple of months ago. Today I got 2 more girls from the shelter. They told me they were housed with a male so they could be pregnant. I decided to take them anyway, and care for them and foster the babies. I may keep one girl, but the shelter told me to give them the babies and they will find them homes. Thank you for your info because I want to take really good care of them, and do what I need to do if there are babies. I am retired, so I have the time to care for them, and spoil them.
my guanine pig was pregnant once (with 3 kids) and they stressed her so much ): I would take her away a few minutes a day, so she could sleep, and she was a really anxious girl, and couldn't really fall asleep on people, but she would fall asleep INSTANTLY! I could tell that she loved them, but she was so much happier when they were gone...
I rescued a neglected pig who was left in a plastic box IN A RIVER. She is so so healthy now and is very pregnant! She’s massive, by feel I guess she is having 2 or 4. I’ve owned pigs my whole life, I’m so excited for these little guys! I already have 8 friends / family friends who want them, so none of them will go to unreliable homes!
I think my piggie is pregnant because she has lumps in her stomach area and just plain looks like it. I'm sure she's not overweight though😂 any good advice for when they are born??
I am very worried so I saw this ad selling two piggies a brother and sister Guinea pig they were 7 weeks old when I adopted them I put them in their own cages as soon as I got home but now after having them for 2 months I found out the female was pregnant she is very far along now as she’s really showing and I’ve never had a pregnant piggy before. I’m worried for one that the babies will be inbred and second I don’t want to lose my piggy during childbirth I heard it’s a 1 in 5 chance the mom dies and with my luck that will most likely happen ;(
So I brought my piggy to the vet and they said she’s very healthy and that they felt at least two baby guinea pigs and said that there could be more and that because of her age being around 4-6 months old and close to due date she should have no complications during birth :)
Thanks for the video. My guinea pig is pregnant at 4 months old😬I appreciate the info. Do I need to bring her to the vet? My parents don't want to bring her.
My guinea pig gave birth about 2 days ago. I really need to weigh them because some look skinnier then others. But when ever I try to pick one up, the mother gets mad and try's to push me away. Please help, I need to make sure they are ok but the mother won't even let me touch them! I can't even take them to the vet.
great video! I got my Guinea pig 1 month ago from a pet shop, it gave birth to an abbysinian baby! thanks for this video I gmhad NO IDEA what to do😄thanks
MLG Yee GAMER my guinea pig died on the 2nd of sectember i was so sad because the pevios guinea pigs passed away and she was my last guinea pig i feel you
When my sister and I were quite young our mom let us get a couple of guinea pigs. My sister got a slick coated orange and white she named “Niff.” I got an orange, black and white one who looked like a tribble on four squat little legs. I named her “Noop.” A few weeks after bringing the piggies home I returned from school one day and noticed Noop’s pen was bloody. I then saw something wriggle next to her. My guinea pig had just given birth! Suddenly and surprisingly I now owned two guinea pigs! Her baby was a black and white boy with a medium length coat. I gave him to the neighbor kids. Both guinea pigs lived to be about three years old.
I got my piggies and my aunt and cousin became obsessed with them, so they got one. When I convinced them that they need another because it is cruel to keep only one, they adopted a baby guinea pig that they where told was a boy. Later, they found out the new pig was not a boy, and was pregnant. I have a female piggy and neutered male piggy, so I said I would take the momma after she gave birth. I’ve had her about two weeks, noticed she was putting on a little weight. I didn’t think much of it, figured she was just still stressed from the pregnancy and the location change, though she gets along well with my piggies. A few days ago I bought harnesses for my piggies. My other female piggy is overweight and the harness was too small for her. My male fit in it fine, but when I put it on coco(the pig I got from my aunt) it was VERY obvious she was not just fat. Picked her up and held her belly and I can feel the babies moving so now I’m panic researching everything about pregnant cavies lmao
I bought a piggy and found out you needed at least two. So my first is 1000% female. So I went and bought another female. She was just a baby. Maybe 1 month 1/2 old. I noticed after a few weeks she looked bigger. I thought maybe I’m over feeding them. At this time she wasn’t getting along with my first piggy. So I bought another pen only to notice the baby was huge! I thought she was gonna die or had a gas issue. Well, I bought her pregnant as a baby. The pet shop completely denied It was them. Two girls can’t do this. So I’m stuck with a piggy who is gonna have babies any day and I’ve owned her 6 weeks. Oh yea! She was full of lice and ringworm when I bought her. So I’m praying the medicine she had to take didn’t affect her babies. Thank you for the video ❤️
We got a guinea pig from pet smart, and it turned out to be a male. Now my 3-4-year-old female seems to be pregnant, we just found out and we have only had the male for 2 weeks. This video scares me because if she is pregnant, I have already picked her up (She is very heavy right now), introduced a third guinea pig(Only because we thought she would pass soon), and changed the cage set up, to prevent the third guinea pig from getting pregnant. The 3-4-year-old treats the new one very well, and they are always close, but I am afraid that she won't make it, and that her babies won't. Is there anything I can do to get the best possible ending to this?
Visit a vet before its too late, mine had babies.. got pregnant again in accident but that time they were too big.. i didnt go to a vet.. when it was time the babies were too big for her to press them out.. they died in her.. i had o go for a c section to save my pigs life or i could let her die.... it cost 300 euro .. ._.
Can someone explain this to me. My piggy, tokyo gave birth to 3 babies and all of them die. No fur. I saw every soil in the cage. She was with her bestfriend, Sydney. Idk what could happen cuz i was at school that time when tokyo gave birth. Is it because of sydney? Or maybe lack of vitamin c or blood poison cuz i feed them everyday grass, hay, pellets and water. But when i came back from school, no food or water. I forgot to feed them yesterday. Was it because of that? And extra info - when i came back from school, i saw sydney eating the babies.
About early neutering, I read in your blog that you don't really find a con. I'm sure that a lot of vets don't do this kind of surgery because the high risks during the anestesia and the hormonal problems that surge of neutering an animal that's not fully develope. I don't really know if it's the same about guinea pigs, but in another species like ferrets or rabits neutering at such young age can cause hormonal problem when they get old like tumor in hormonal glands or other similar problems.
Oh, well then, snake owners here should inform themselves about their pets... Because they even advertise in news papers looking for poor Guinea pigs which is really sad 😣 thanks for telling me!
Samantha Fatterson I have 4 guinea pigs. Two males Names: Emma Sprite Latte Midnight First guinea pig:Midnight (Male) Second guinea pig:Emma (Female) Baby guinea pig (Emma, midnights baby)Sprite (Male) Youngest guinea pig (last😞)Latte (Female) Just saying we didn't want to breed Emma and Midnight. Me and my mom thought that midnight was a girl so yeah
One of my guinea pigs was chasing the other round and round the cage and mounting her A LOT all night last night but the lady from the rescue (very experienced)told me she was certain they were both girls. Rlly confused here!?
My guinea pig was pregnant with 2 guinea pigs before we got her 2 days later I came back from school and when I finished eating I was going to play with my piggies and I saw two black fur balls I told my grandma and she told my mom we ended up having 4 guinea pigs they are all happy right now
We got a Guinea pig from the pet store, and it was pregnant. We had no idea though. We noticed she was getting a lot heavier. We didn't do anything about it, and kept feeding her the same. On my older sisters birthday, I came downstairs to find two baby Guineas in the cage. The mother, and both the baby's were okay, and none were dead. We still have one to this day :)
My guinea pig is pregnant we didn't know about it until now she has in least one more month your videos are the best thanks for your help thumbs up🐹🐹🐹🐹🐹🐹🐹🐹🐹😍😍😍😍😋😋😋😋☺️☺️☺️😊😊😉😏😏😄😄😍😍😍🙂🙂🙂😊😊😊😄😄😀😌
My guinea pig give birth to 3 pups and thank God none died, this was about 1 and half ago. But about a week before she gave birth she jumped up a over her cage, and the drop was pretty far to her, at the time we had her and her mate in a cage on a high surface. She only jumped because we moved the boy to another cage under hers, I guess she got anxious and decided to jump to try to get to him. We got scared because she was our first guinea pig and her being pregnant just made us worry even more. But fast forward 2 months and now we have a total of 5 beautiful guinea pigs, and yes she safely gave birth to all 3 of her pups.
When I was very young, my family adopted a female guinea pig from PetSmart. A few months later we just found two babies and my parents were so shocked, we had no idea how. A male must of done it before we adopted her. The two babies grew up healthy and then we gave them to my aunt, and my guinea pig lived 5 more years. Now, we had no idea our guinea pig was pregnant the pet store gave us a pregnant guinea pig which is really not right since we were not told. We held her and pet her and fed her so much but luckily the babies were okay. The babies were so cute and it was sad to give them away.
Alright we're back with part two here we goooooo:Dusk turned out to be a runt but that didn't bother us,we got the cage set up and put both piggies in.The loved it and started pop corning. So on July 27th(their birth day) I got them a new hiddy. They both loved it and would even share it sometimes. But sadly on October 29 2019 dusk left the world to be in a better place. I cried and still do when I think about it,but she's gone and i have to come to turms with that, she's in a better place and I hope she's happy. So about a few months later Its 2020.A litter of guinea pigs were born after their owner threw them out, they found out she was pregnant and threw her out with the dad.She gave birth to four babies and we got one of them, that's when we got potato chip. But the animal shelter we got her from didn't seprate the mom and dad fast enough so another litter was born.(Also i forgot to say that we got a bigger cage woops but we did the one we had was way to small, but it's our hurt guinea pig cage now :p)So we weren't origanlly going to get one of them but the animal shelter didn't want the baby to go to a family with very young children that never had a guinea pig before so we got her .Now Twix,Potato chip and Dawn are happy, and I'm sure Dusk is happy knowing her sister can move on,and be happy again, tho I can't move on,I love her so much it hurts and I try but i can't,I'm happy yes,but I loved that guinea pig more than myself,so r.i.p Dusk.
i have a guinea pig, and her abdomen is big. shes in a pear shape and her rarely moves around like she used too. she has also gotten heavier. im sure shes pregnant.
My guinea pig had 4 babies at 3 years old, we didn't know and thought she was just overweight. Very lucky that she lived and all her babies were healthy, and are in good homes
I don't even know that my guinea pig was pregnant then I woke up this morning and realized there were six babies so now I probably have to double the food that I buy
Our pigs came to us as babies from a friend. She purchased their mother who was pregnant from a livestock auction. She has a lot of room so she would have kept them if no one wanted them. One of them has passed away at about five years old. The remaining one is still doing well. Seconding the don't breed and don't buy at chain stores message. It's easy to find nice guinea pig pets. In our case we even got baby ones.
I just bought 3 Abbysinian cavies last Sunday and they are 2 months old. and I highly think two of my cavies are pregnant. when I bought them, they are sold together(boars and sows in the same cage).
I adopted 3 guinea pigs thinking that they were all males that were bonded but it turns out that one was female and I noticed as soon as I got home and separated her immediately but it was too late. She ended up having 2 boys and 1 girl, the girl stayed with her mom and the boys are in a cage together. I now have 8 pigs, the 2 females are together and all 6 of my males get along and have a 3 story 3 by 5 cage (Each level is a 3 by 5).
I got my Guinea pig on Christmas and my mom told she not it from a petco I was kinda sad because I could have saved a lot of money and a life from a shelter but it turns out it was pregnant but I did not know soooo 3 weeks later she had 3 babies but it was too early when she had them because I keep up picking her up from her stumic I’m soo sorry I did not know how to hold a guinea pig back then so ya she was also lonely but when I started whatching your Chanel it help me a lot now she has a little sister and two brothers ( there hamster but they love each other really much also my bird think it’s a guinea pig something is wrong with him lol )
One of my Guinea pigs had pups and we didn't know she was pregnant until the pups for born :0 We had only had her for 2 months and we didn't notice she got fatter . Thankfully everything came out fine . She had 3 healthy pups and we kept one because she was the only girl
I remember my guniea pigs I had 2 males and females I was too little to know that they had babies. One of them had babys that were always born dead and the other ones babys were healthy and alive they were in the same room and were handled the same way. What could have been the reason for this?
My aunt had gotten 2 female guinea pigs, they got them from a good breeder and took them to the vet to be checked. Turns out that one beat the odds and was male. But there's no worries because my cousin is taking 2 and I'm taking 1 and they are keeping the other.
I just rescued 2 Guinea pigs a Male and a female they were in the same cage I separated them immediately and the shelter I rescued them from said she was spayed but didnt provide me any paper work on it she is starting to get round so I'm gonna take her to the vet tomorrow and I'm taking all of the proper precautions
around a year ago I bought a guinea piggy from a pet store (piggies are rare where I live, I couldn't find one to adopt), and it was a male. from day one I would really be careful with his diet and made sure he would get all the needed nutrients, and his diet would mostly consist of fresh food. he was always chubby and lazy. so a nice morning after a couple of months of owning him, I opened the cage to clean it, and under the house, I saw a skinny piggy (my "male piggy") and a tiny little floof ball staring back at me. went straight to the vet, both were fine, and I was lucky enough to have a litter of only one piggy, also female. so now I have two cuties, but I had no idea she was pregnant at the time.
LilyK. cute!!!
OH MY GOSHHHHHH thats cool
I just bought a new guinea pig yesterday and i think she might have already been pregnant lmao
Weird
Sounds like you had no idea that keeping a single guinea pig is cruel.
I thought my piggy was pregnant. Turned out she was just overweight. I had to get her an outdoor playpen so she can run and get exercise but most of the time she lays on the grass while eating it.
Silvia Manrique lol my guinea pig does the same thing
Silvia Manrique hahahhaha
my ginypigs are both boys
Silvia Manrique same lol

My guinea pig turned out to be pregnant! Lovely experience actually, they all went to lovely homes and were all the sweetest little things.
@@anhdoan5831 I’m going to send mine to a Guinea Pig Shelter if there is none nearby you can also surrender them to any rescue or shelter

My Guinea pic is pregnant!!! I was told she was a male!!!!! She's just a baby! I'm sooo scared!!!!
It's okay the same thing happened to me, give her a healthy diet and all should be fine
Donna James me too I'm scared.....
Donna James how is your Guine pig pregnant if it's a pic
Vlog Shorts I think it was a typo lol
Go to the vet!
My white crested passed away earlier:(
One of my first Guinea pigs passed away exactly a month ago :( so sorry for your loss, and may all our Guinea pigs play together in heaven
Just worried about her because she isnt even a year old
I think mine is also pregnant but mines older than yours which worries me
@@velvetdarksoul8741 she did totally fine!
Playing... OMFG MY GUINEA PIG HAD 6!!!!!!
kaddaaaaaaaaaaaaa My guinea pig from pet shop is pregnant!
i wish my guinea pigs weren't scared of me. maybe its cuz i tried picking them up once and they were scared... oh well :(
HOW DO I FIX THIS THEY ARE TERRIFIED OF ME I ONLY PICKED THEM UP TWICE AND I GIVE THEM FOOD AND UHHGG
I can't put mine on a table :( I have them near an eating area on the ground... mom problems
Just be calm, gentle, and slow. Move verrrryyyy slowly. If you think you're moving slowly enough, move more slowly. To interact with them, as much as you can, get down to their level. Remember: they're prey animals. Anything that's not green or another guinea pig potentially wants to eat them.
Ok.Thanks!
Coco I love you xD
Years ago when I was still a teenager and came home from school I saw something near my guinea pig. She had become a mom. I was almost crying seeing that. They were both healthy and happy.
That's good, however sadly around one in six guinea pig mothers will die.
i got given a guinea pig called marley and she and jack my other one shared a cage . i think she was very far into the pregnancy when she got an eye infection . we got a vet to order us some medicine but that day she passed. isaw her stomache move a little then it violently shuddered and then stopped . about 1 hour after. i massaged the stomache and it moved again but it was too late when we could do anything !😓😷😭😢🐹
Steph Brooks. Are you the Joker
How cute!! Welcome to the world little one! Also, where did you get all your guinea pigs? They all look so calm and happy! :)
My guinea pig died in this week I cried everytime I remember them

What happened ? I hope everything went well 💕
Wow this is awesome! I don't have a pregnant guinea pig I just love guinea pig videos! You can really tell you did all the research 🥰

I got my male fixed at 4 months
My pig Oreo gave birth!!! She gave birth to 5 babies, but two died, 3 are alive and so cute!
Aww, it's sad that two died. :/

Misha is still alive which is good
..
I feel for you.. Few people seemed to care about those creatures.. I was also angry about the Shop because they say they made no mistake. Okay, then the distributor should be responsible.
If you saw my other comment you what I'm talking about so let jump into the story:I went to a pet store to get a guinea pig for my birth day,we had most of the stuff we needed at home,but our cage was way to small.This pet store was different than the one in the last story it had glass cages on shelves and there were two guinea pigs in a cage,each seprated by gender.The guinea pig I saw was from a shelter but no one went to that shelter so they let the store have the for a day to put out in the store to sell,they were in guinea pig caged on tables so It was pretty easy to see them.I saw a guinea pig running around in It's cage and I went over,I saw it come up to me as i sat down by the cage.She was very social and loving and liked to explore.I loved her and pet her nose,she didn't teeth chatter or run away just sat there and let me pet her nose.She was only five dollars and i was set on getting her.Then my dad pointed out another guinea pig in the back just sitting there.She was this guinea pigs sister,I asked if I could get both as they were sisters and only ten dollars for both and my dad said yes.The one I like was a darker piggy we'll the other one was a lighter piggy i named em dawn and dusk.Ima make a part two this is getting too long ;w;
love your videos, keep up the good work, you are doing a amazing job
+mary marhofer thank you :)
+Little Adventures umm most likely guinea pigs have one to two baby's so yea
They can have anything between 1 and 8 babies
Little Adventures My gunie pigs name is Carmal
I have recently been considering the fact that one of mine might be male (and the other 2 weeks pregnant) so I have spent this week researching as much as possible! My vet doesn’t think it’s an emergency so I’m just trying to reduce stress as much as possible! This has been helpful and I still don’t know if she is so if not then at least I’ve gained loads of knowledge!
So was she pregnant?
I had two guinea pigs many many years ago, i thought they were both male...I was wrong
They ended up having 14 offspring
that is a lot

Katie Edwards She Had 2Babies!! (Video on my youtube)
I got a guinea pig we were told was a male about two to three months later we found out it was pregnant because in the morning we woke up to five little babies with her. it was so cute but it was very hard and we ended up giving them away because we did not know how to handle it this video definitely taught me a lot❤
ok so I think my piggy is pregnant how do I know for sure?
you can only know for sure in the last two weeks, that's when they get really round
+Little Adventures ok thank you☺
p.s. love you're vids❤
thank you :)
keep feeling her belly daily like.. just softly put your hands around it and you will for sure feel movement when shes in the last 2 weeks. sometimes you can SOFTLY shake the belly, then theyll most likely move
what about her poop like is it like liquid or hard?
ps: they have been separated since we found out. Really sweet though, they seem a little bummed to be away from one another.
Right now I have a female guineapig and a male. She is not pregnant yet but I just wanted to be prepared. When the mother gives birth, does the father need to be separated and for how long? And can they be neutered or spayed after she gives birth?
Shadow Cat 2006 I'm sure the male has to be seperated, I think they'll fight alot.
kevin herrera
ok! I asked my older cousin that had a guinea pig that gave birth and she separated them. thanks for the advice!
I thought my gunia pig was pregnant but she had a tumor.
aww

Sara/Sam Dixon I’m sorry Sara/Sam Dixon, I had to laugh at your comment.
my guanine pig was pregnant once (with 3 kids) and they stressed her so much ): I would take her away a few minutes a day, so she could sleep, and she was a really anxious girl, and couldn't really fall asleep on people, but she would fall asleep INSTANTLY! I’ve owned pigs my whole life, I’m so excited for these little guys! I already have 8 friends / family friends who want them, so none of them will go to unreliable homes!
Thank you for rescuing the piggie! ❤
I think my piggie is pregnant because she has lumps in her stomach area and just plain looks like it. I'm sure she's not overweight though😂 any good advice for when they are born??
how is she now
@@sorreldislikespotatoes9882 well, she was pregnant, she ended up having two litters before we had to give her away
I’m so, so sorry about Little One and Pebbles! I know you miss them. Two of my pigs died recently as well.
My guinea pig gave birth about 2 days ago. I really need to weigh them because some look skinnier then others. But when ever I try to pick one up, the mother gets mad and try's to push me away. MLGyeeGAMER R I know how it feels. I lost one of my three guinea pigs in November. 😢

How do you check the weight if you're not supposed to pick them up?
JUBILI you could place a scale in the cage and lure her onto it with some food
My sister who’s never owned them before bought two “boy” guinea pigs for her kids. Nope!
Also, alfalfa hay, rather than timothy hay, is important when they're young.
5:25 I have that hay rack for my bunnies but they just tip it up and one likes chewing on it 😂

Is there anything I can do to get the best possible ending to this?
i have one pregnant guinea pig and she is about two 😨 idk what to do

Guinea Pigs are not used as snake food usually.
Here they definitely are! Snake owners actively look for Guinea pigs and rabbits that are on sale to feed to their huge snakes
They are not good for them, bunnies and rats are OK but snakes have digestive issues with Guinea pigs. This is not from me but from snake breeders.
Oh, well then, snake owners here should inform themselves about their pets... Because they even advertise in news papers looking for poor Guinea pigs which is really sad 😣 thanks for telling me!
yes they are, for any large python or boa constrictor. anacondas eat them as well, and trust me, a lot of people have these large snakes for pets

I started crying writing this comment, one like is one prayer for Dusk.
i have a guinea pig, and her abdomen is big. shes in a pear shape and her rarely moves around like she used too. she has also gotten heavier. im sure shes pregnant.
My guinea pig had 4 babies at 3 years old, we didn't know and thought she was just overweight. Very lucky that she lived and all her babies were healthy, and are in good homes
My guinea pigs is nearly at birth, and I found this video and omg it is amazing, thankyou for making this tutorial video!
Thanks so much for all of your gpkids information and seeing all these unique pictures of them they brighten my day everyday
