Would like an intro to all your piggies, where they came from, their back stories again, how long you've had each of them, same sex bonding and what you think the issues with failures. Your pig room looks awesome, well done and putting in tiles was a great move..
I'm so happy you were able to get rid of the carpet and install laminate flooring!! It looks bigger and brighter in there! I'm sure the piggies will appreciate it as well if they every get floor time in there :)
I think some of my fav content ever will always be "Pet parent suffering to make their pets live their best lives, not because it NEEDED doing but because we're unhinged and love our pet children". It's both the funniest and the most satisfying thing because holy heck look at how amazing it looks at the end but also the blood sweat and tears that were shed for it all
The flooring is absolutely beautiful, what colour is it? I haven’t seen this one before and is makes the room light and bright! So good to see you. ❤️❤️❤️
IT TURNED OUT SO NICE! It’s such night and day for cleaning I’m so excited that you did this. Will make your life so much easier. I’m always on board for functional but aesthetic setups! Everyone looks happy in their new space 😊
OMG I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS *BECAUSE* two days ago I was about to message you because I saw this woman with (what I at first was an L shaped cage) and it ended up being a U shaped cage and I was like WIOW, what a clever idea for a piggy room renovation! I truly can't wait to see how your piggy room turns out!! It's always a huge blessing to have an upgrade (and I'm sure you won't regret it!) I LOVE renovations! Edit: I HATE CARPET TOO! Almost my entire apartment is carpet and I'm on the bottom floor and there is a crack in the foundation, so it's been flooding _slowly_ for 9yrs and my complex won't fix it, causing mold and worsening my health issues. I desperately wish I could move, but I can't for many reasons. Your floor looks AMAZING! The room looks HUGE and brighter and more homey! Congrats to all the work your guys did..it truly paid off and turned out amazing!
The BEST decision I ever made was changing the flooring in my rabbit room. It is SO much easier to sweep instead of vacuum for quick cleans, and I feel better knowing I can mop and disinfect the floor on a regular basis. Plus rabbits and piggies tend to want to pee on soft things, so you can let them free roam without worrying so much about carpet accidents. Carpet and pets just don't mix well lol. Beautiful room!
Cette vidéo est une des meilleures de la chaîne ; la nouvelle chambre des cochons d'Inde est magnifique et pratique, le nouveau sol est superbe, vous avez accompli un beau travail !❤
First time viewer of your channel. As a former owner of Guinea Pigs, I think you did really well upgrading their pens/homes and sorting them to where they can all live in harmony. I hope to see some up close videos of the piggies and hear them squeal when they get excited at feeding time. P.S. The floor looks great!
It looks awesome! I love the layout and your cages 💛 You should really try to bond Kai with Billie. I'm not from the US so it's sometimes interesting to see the differences between optimal piggy care. My piggies are all from a rescue and the rescue lady never has any piggies alone and bonds the males with other males. For the most part it works fine, I would definitely try bonding them especially when Kai seems so interested in Billie 🥰
The thing is in a rescue you can find the right males to bond with each other so it might not work out with the males you happen to have, though Kai and Billie seem to like each so seems worth trying at least.
I am sooooo happy that you took out the carpet! The room is not only more sanitary, it looks so much brighter! What an amazing change for your babies. Even though they were in the temporary homes, I am sure all of your babies are MUCH happier and think their vacation was worth it 😊 I look forward to many more videos, maybe a few free roams…cuddles, and of course, you enjoying this new room with your babies! My curiosity has been piqued about what is behind those little doors in the room🤣🤣
the new room looks amazing !! well done for all the hard work. I hope we get to see the bonding of kai and billy as that would be worth a shot I think and they would look so cute together. xoxo
It looks amazing. The piggies seem very happy, but most of all is that it has reduced your stress level, which you talked about in a recent video. Obviously, it was a lot of work, but well worth it for both you and the piggies.
Amazing job with the whole room! The floor looks beautiful and the cages are so nice like that. I love that Winston is with Ariel and Fifi and they’re getting along so well. Poor little Caroline is relieved as well I’m sure. I really look forward to seeing your videos more often! That’s such great news 😊🎉
As usual, you do a great job on whatever you set out to do. I love the new flooring and seeing all the upgraded cages. Looking forward to new and more frequent videos. You sure do have a busy life between the guinea pigs and your growing business.
I added mine with one more layer of 17x35cm DIY panel and i can sit comfortably inside their cage and plays with them, it was so much fun to hear when they are popcorning and running around on the upstairs
I have a cat, so my knowledge of piggies is mostly from watching some of your videos… A crazy idea: what about building ramps? Like to expand the cages near the window, using wall shelves and ramps to give them little balcony areas? Like 1x3, since 2x3 would probably require ground support. They wouldn’t necessarily want them for the balcony aspect (I doubt they like heights like cats), but the ramp and extra space might offer some exercise and enrichment opportunities-the balcony “look” is for humans.
im so proud of how far you have came with your youtube chanel!! and im so happy that you got to do a make over! i was here when you first started your youtube channel and i have been a subscriber since! all though i havent been watching your vids for a while, i lost all motivatioun to watch guinea pig vids since i had to say goodbye to both my guineas and i still really really miss them. but when i saw your video i just had to watch it! its so inspiring, and made me remember all the godd memories i had with my piggies!
Love watching you put it together! I miss having pigs and their noises, but I was too allergic to them so when they passed, I didn't get anymore. It was fun making the houses and seeing all the new stuff the pet stores would come up with to make the houses fun for them. I'm now down to one elderly bunny who will be 10 yrs in April and when she is done, I think I'm done with little one's until I'm old and can't travel the maybe get back into bunnies. They don't make the cute little noises the pigs do but after years of having them it's the one pet I have not grown allergic to.
Wow!! What a transformation!! They all have their very own hotel rooms !😂 Lucky, Lucky Piggies! No wonder you're excited! And you should be very proud of a job well done! 🎉👍
Your guinea pigs have wonderful cages, I love watching you and you really try hard for your pets. I admire you very much and I am very happy that you are doing well 😃
I wonder if removing that carpet could make future relationships, movings, and bondings easier just because it must have been saturated with SO many scents and memories in that confined space? I'm not experienced with piggies but we have a high turnover of foster cats and kittens, and I know how much those scents soak in and impact behavior when we're socializing (even when we sanitize carefully between).
You can always apply the New York idea to their cages. Maybe a little loft? I don’t think they care as much about running room as interesting little things and places. They don’t reason like humans. Brave redo of the flooring, it’s a lot but so nice! The new room is awesome
I am liking carpetes floors less and less. I'd rather have a rug or mat of some kind because carpets are SUCH a chore to clean and not be so gross and ugly. The hardwood flooring is stunning! Huge upgrade 👏
It looks amazing! Loving the new look. All the piggies are so cute! I have never seen such water bottles, they have a very interesting shape😂 I totally understand the piggies liking the other one more, since the position might be awkward for them 🐹
This is awesome Austin, you did a fantastic job and the floor colour is amazing. We just ripped out all our carpet upstairs and man it feels so much cleaner, especially in the room the piggies are.
I currently have 6 foster piggies, I have a single boy piggie currently being bonded with a new male friend and it’s going really well. Then I have our family’s own 2 piggies. & now it looks like I might be having a further 4 foster piggies or more in the next couple of weeks. So may end up with a total of 14 or more plus I have others coming in for holiday care. I help a charity here in Blackpool UK & we have seen a increase in numbers being given up or rescued. Have you seen an increase in people giving up there piggies in last few months? I’ve put it down to covid as everyone seemed to get a pet of some kind and now lots are being given up which is not good at all. I also put it down to cost of living here in the uk as it has risen dramatically. Love to all your piggies and keep up your good work x
I know how this feels 😫 I’m renovating my pig room but the roof of the room was damaged from water caused by rain storms so we had to gut out everything’s all my piggies are in my living room it’s chaos but it will all be worth it in the end like a fresh start! 🫶🏽💕 your pig room came out beautiful 💖
I got very excited to see a new video posted. Thank you. I especially enjoyed the “social “ update - a kind of piggie soap opera. That is what I miss the most: What’s Up With Who? A little piggie gossiping over the cage fence, if you will. Anyway, thanks for sharing and providing a brief look into their lives. Thoroughly enjoyed. Maybe that’s an idea that could be down the road. Find someone to script it, someone to voice the various parts and you direct it! Oh goodie! Another Pig Room Venture: Daytime Drama filled with Guinea Pig cuteness. …think about it. J Oh yeah, great great renovation. I didn’t mean to minimize the change cause I know it was a lot of work and the results are splendid! They are very lucky pigs. J.
Your new room looks really nice! I would have to put a lid on it however. My pig learned last year (4 yo) how to climb out of his home. Having the grids zip tied across the top makes a real pita to clean.
The rescue is super safe and get stuff super clean but be careful it’ll burn your throat and nose I work in a veterinary hospital and the stuff is no joke 😂
All I can say is well done with your pig room makeover, looking forward to your future filming, some new piggies from what I saw haven't been watching for a month...
First video i have seen of yours and i dont even have guinea pigs but i am impressed by how well you care for your little friends and the room looks great ❤
Just found your channel. 😊 I've had piggies before but now just have a rabbit. They're a lot like piggies, just bigger. I'm looking forward to getting her a bigger cage and possibly a friend.
I love seeing people love animals, I don't care what species, it doesn't matter. All animals deserve love and care, putting so much effort and love into the guineas is so heartwarming. I'm fostering 11 kittens right now, various physical issues, bottle feeding, potty habits and the whole 9. First time ever doing this, I have 4 of my own cats, but never have I cared for this many kittens at once and honestly its overwhelming cuz they're nuts but I love it, I love giving them yummy food, a warm place to sleep, clean litter, tons of toys and stuff to tear up and climb. I'll be sad to see them go when it comes time to give them homes, but I love that they get to live their baby lives with me and I can make them happy and healthy :)
I recently adopted 3 piggies from a friend who was going to return them to the shelter. The cage theyre in is only big enough for 2 of them and they only had 1 hidey spot in the whole cage. I plan on getting them a newer bigger cage as soon as i get home with them and im going to petsmart today to look for hodey spots for them
I love the floor Austin. It looks amazing. I'm glad Caroline is happy again. I really thought Ollie would go with Ariel and fifi. But whatever works. Will Billie go with the herd now? Lol. Love the new room. Looking forward to seeing more of you on RUclips. I miss the videos and seeing your piggies especially my fave pig Wanda. ❤
Hes thinking of trying Kai and Billy as a pair and he mentioned Ollie being booked in for a neuter so would assume he will try to bond Ollie in with Caroline and her girls...
I'm no guinea but I'm like looking at these thinking which one I'd like the most xD I wonder what's more fun building the enclosure or getting the guinea
Hey so cute if you rescued them :) I hope they can enjoy being outside sometimes and if not that they have enough fresh green :) what if you would turn the whole room into a “cage”? And a little note: just if it looks cozy for you as a human, doesn’t mean it’s that cozy for them as Guinea pigs :)
Hi the new room looks absolutely amazing, I'm happy you got to give your piggies more space. I've been wondering for a while though why you have single males as I personally don't think it's fair to keep them alone all their life? (This is not meant to be hate I am just genuinely interested in learning about that, as there are quite a few people who do this) (also sorry if you have answered this before) I love to see people improve their pets lives and that are willing to learn as I always try to do the same myself:) Edit: just finished the video and I'm very happy to see that you seem to try to get them the company they deserve. Still my question stands why you have so many it seems not neutered boys that live alone.(I always learned that neutering them as early as possible helps with their compatibility and hormones) Again no hate just trying to learn:)
i know nothing about guinea pigs so sorry if these are stupid questions 😅 1. is it safe having the cages like that? like couldn't they bite each other through the bars if they got close sniffing each other? 2. isnt olie the nakey furless piggy you have? isnt there a bigger risk when bonding him because he doesnt have fluff protecting him if any fights happen? either way i hope everything works out. the new room looks amazing :)
I think you should just try out to bond the two boys, that you were thinking about bonding. Even if it goes wrong you will have tried it out and if it goes right they will be so much more happy because they are not alone anyomre. And yes I know bonding is stressfull (have had many stressful bonding experiences of guinea pigs myself), but I think it is better than having lonely piggies. edit: the room looks very nice :)
I'm wanting to rip the carpet out of my pig room; how long did you wait to put your piggies back into your room once the wood flooring was done cause I heard sometimes the finished flooring gives off a smell? Thank you and I love your videos. The room is beautiful.
I moved them right in! The laminate flooring did contain a sort of “woody” smell out of the packaging, but the manufacture requested to let the boxes sit for a few days before installing (which I did) and the smell slowly disappeared and was completely gone by the time the piggies moved back in.
I don't even own guinea pigs, and I'm not planning on getting them but this video was oddly illuminating to me for the most random thing ever 😂? I am really bad at executing any of my ideas, I struggle to plan anything in any helpful way... But hearing your planned steps for the project kinda made me go "Huh... Oh, so that's how it's done?" Sounds silly, but I just get stuck on the tiniest thing and apparently never see the bigger picture, and the project timeline in any coherent way. From now on I'll try to imitate your battle plans 😄🙏
I love love LOVE this layout. You asked about what we would like to see, so... is there anyway you could show us a cage build? What do you use and how do you place the cross bars?
It's crazy how much bigger the space looks with the carpet gone, it looks amazing!!
It opened up the space so much! 😊
@@ThePigRoomlooks brighter too 😍
@@ThePigRoomwho is in the big herd now?

I'd love this video too :)
Males can get territorial and bonding them can happen its just difficult.
Can we take a moment to appreciate how much he dedicates his entire life to his guinea pigs
Thank you! 😊
carpet nails and tacks are a pain to remove, props to you for caring so much about your piggies you'll do days a work so there space is nicer for them
It truly was! There were SO many.

What a difference! Getting rid of the carpet makes so much sense, I bet you have halved your room cleaning time. Looks so nice! 🎉

I plan on getting them a newer bigger cage as soon as i get home with them and im going to petsmart today to look for hodey spots for them
Ah une nouvelle vidéo, je suis trop contente !!!
I'm so happy for you, the room turned out amazing ❤❤❤🎉
Your room looks bigger since you put the laminated floor in looks Fantastic 👏 😊
Have a Good week 🥰
Love the new room it looks wonderful what a great job you did
I'm no guinea but I'm like looking at these thinking which one I'd like the most xD
I wonder what's more fun building the enclosure or getting the guinea
Hey so cute if you rescued them :) I hope they can enjoy being outside sometimes and if not that they have enough fresh green :) what if you would turn the whole room into a “cage”? And a little note: just if it looks cozy for you as a human, doesn’t mean it’s that cozy for them as Guinea pigs :)
You are a good piggie daddy!!!! ❤❤❤
Hi the new room looks absolutely amazing, I'm happy you got to give your piggies more space. I've been wondering for a while though why you have single males as I personally don't think it's fair to keep them alone all their life? (This is not meant to be hate I am just genuinely interested in learning about that, as there are quite a few people who do this) (also sorry if you have answered this before)
I love to see people improve their pets lives and that are willing to learn as I always try to do the same myself:)
Edit: just finished the video and I'm very happy to see that you seem to try to get them the company they deserve. Still my question stands why you have so many it seems not neutered boys that live alone.(I always learned that neutering them as early as possible helps with their compatibility and hormones)
Again no hate just trying to learn:)
Im in Love with the Reptile dishes from Chewy's!!
i know nothing about guinea pigs so sorry if these are stupid questions 😅
1. is it safe having the cages like that? like couldn't they bite each other through the bars if they got close sniffing each other?
2. isnt olie the nakey furless piggy you have? isnt there a bigger risk when bonding him because he doesnt have fluff protecting him if any fights happen?
either way i hope everything works out. the new room looks amazing :)
your literally the best Guinea pig owner like if I was one I would want you to be my owner 😂
I think you should just try out to bond the two boys, that you were thinking about bonding. Even if it goes wrong you will have tried it out and if it goes right they will be so much more happy because they are not alone anyomre. And yes I know bonding is stressfull (have had many stressful bonding experiences of guinea pigs myself), but I think it is better than having lonely piggies.
edit: the room looks very nice :)
yea especially the long cage looks great
Love it! 😍 And Winston is so cute with Fifi! ❣
Isn’t he?! He loves both Fifi and Arielle
I feel like I need a chart to really understand how many guinea pigs you've had at any given time throughout the years/month
I'm wanting to rip the carpet out of my pig room; how long did you wait to put your piggies back into your room once the wood flooring was done cause I heard sometimes the finished flooring gives off a smell? Thank you and I love your videos. The room is beautiful.
That would only be an issue if you had real hardwood that was stained. Laminate/vinyl flooring you can put them in right away!
I’d like to do that eventually too, but it’s so expensive!
I moved them right in! The laminate flooring did contain a sort of “woody” smell out of the packaging, but the manufacture requested to let the boxes sit for a few days before installing (which I did) and the smell slowly disappeared and was completely gone by the time the piggies moved back in.
Thanks for the info everyone 😊
i would love a video where you go in depths about cleaning, feeding etc if you havent done that yet
Oh, so that's how it's done?"
Sounds silly, but I just get stuck on the tiniest thing and apparently never see the bigger picture, and the project timeline in any coherent way.
From now on I'll try to imitate your battle plans 😄🙏
The shopvac made me giggle because I let my piggy just run around, and every night I have to vacuum all her poo 💩 lol
It looks amazing!! Great job😊
this is what every good pet owner wants for their furry kids
it looks soo good!So so so much easier to clean and to Well done
I love love LOVE this layout. You asked about what we would like to see, so... is there anyway you could show us a cage build? What do you use and how do you place the cross bars?
The first video of yours I've seen, bless the algorithm! Looks amazing, new subscriber here. 😊
