Post Traumatic is quite possibly the best album I’ve ever listened to. It does such an amazing job of touching on all of the different stages of grief. I’m just a fan, but I still felt devastated when Chester passed. Post Traumatic helped me process that loss in a way I don’t think anyone else could have. Mike is an incredible artist, and an even better human being.

As 20 year + Linkin Park fan I love him a lot but I have to admit Post Traumatic is not my favourite I appreciate it but still waiting for him to drop another album besides 8 tracks of Already over. His song writing he can easily top the charts not that I want a top 40 thing but heaviest album ever he can do it.

_Over Again_ is raw as hell, and completely soul-bared. I also like the touch that in part 1, he even appears to be wearing what he wore to the Bowl that night, as referenced in the song - and part 2, seems to be the next morning. I have to imagine he really captured that organically, in the moment.
Not only is the feeling very authentic, relatable, and deep for one in such a circumstance- but *goddamn,* the _delivery._
Naturally, I wish Post-Traumatic didn’t _have_ to exist…. but I’m glad it does in retrospect. For us as fans, but definitely for him. The whole album feels real and cathartic.

He wrote, recorded, and filmed the first verse the day of the tribute concert for Chester. He did that to keep himself from going crazy waiting for the show that evening. He had about 8 hours to fill before he could go to the Hollywood bowl for Linkin Park's concert to honor Chester for what he did for the music industry and what he did for the fans.
The second verse was written, recorded, and filmed the after the tribute concert. That song really shows what Mike was feeling right then.

    • @pixel_glitched
      @pixel_glitched 11 месяцев назад +2

@@sadiekincaid5310 This is precisely what I had figured. It felt way too genuine to just be an artistic nod, though even that would be a nice detail. But I figured Mike really did it that way. It shows in the feel.

It was a play on words with multiple meanings.
“Post traumatic,” the after effects of something traumatic.
PTSD, post traumatic stress disorder. Chester had this from his life and it caused pain and suffering in others. May have even given Mike PTSD.
“Post traumatic,” this album is a result of something traumatic.
“Post traumatic,” this is him trying to heal and move on from all of the trauma.

Post Traumatics emotional messages reminded me of Meteora. The tracks starts off heavy, dark, melancholic, but halfway through the tracks, the lyrics change to getting back into the fight for a better, brighter outcome. Where as with Post Traumatic, half the album is dark and heavy, but after the halfway track, "crossing a line" it turns more hopeful, more inspiring, more heartfelt that things will be okay.

Post traumatic was an album i could relate to on a personal level, having suffered from PTSD back in 2018 due to both personal struggles and the loss of Chester. Linkin Park was a band I grew up listening to, and their music was my healing in some of my darkest moments. I literally saw them live at the O2 in London two weeks before Chester Bennington killed himself. I cant imagine what it was like for the rest of the band or his family. It broke my heart and I didnt even know him personally (though I wish I had). I hope Mike and the others are doing ok these days. Rest in peace Chester 🖤❤️

The Post-Traumatic album was Mike's reaction and way of coping with Chester's death. A place to start has all the phone calls of people checking in on him at the end which is really sad. LP did a show around 2018 where they had the fans sing chesters lyrics out of respect id recommend looking up the clips of it on YT.

Mike has been producing songs for other musicians through the later years, mostly unknown artists but he also produced and sang a part on the song "In my Head" for the latest Scream movie and occasionally he also do some solo work or feats. With other musicians.
Did Post Traumatic as a coping process and later did some other stuff. During lockdown he used to do streams everyday while creating music. Those songs later on became the album Ziggurats, plus solo songs occasionally like "Fine" and "Already Over", released last week.
Linkin Park has been on a hiatus since the Tribute show they did for Chester in 2017 but Mike has been as active on music as ever.
