- True Color visible imagery and night-time infrared of Typhoon Bolaven as it exploded into a very powerful Category 5 storm in October 2023. Bolaven passed close to the Mariana Islands as it was rapidly intensifying, before sweeping out towards the northeast.

Tied for Strongest Storm Since Mawar
The second most intense storm this year only being surpassed by mawar. Thankfully staying out to sea
When Bolaven pass the Mariana islands you know it explode with intensity. What a beautiful and powerfull storm.
And BTW which tropical cyclone is the strongest in 2023 both wind and it's pressure. Bolaven or other stroms?

Both Mawar and Bolaven are the strongest this year in terms of windspeed and intensity
I still think this storm is underestimated for it's strength unofficially i think this storm is 190mph

Bolaven, which rapidly intensified in a similar fashion to Jova and Lee... Its peak intensity and satellite images are extremely impressive just like Mawar before it! And although it passed near Guam and the N Mariana Islands, no major impacts or deaths reported as of now, although Rota did get power outages when this typhoon arrived. We should be thankful that Bolaven did not pull a Yutu!
On a related note, despite WPAC this year having way less storms than 2022/2021, its ACE surpassed that of previous seasons since 2020!
