The fact that it stayed a hurricane for so long, and even made landfall as a category 2 in Canada is amazing in it of its self

people of florida were so lucky at that moment, one of the most intense hurricanes ever and was headed straight there and it just stopped and went the other direction, sadly that bahamas weren’t so lucky..

This is one of the most beautiful storms and also one of the scariest.
I have been watching hurricane since 2004 so that 15 years . And I can't recall ever really seen a hurricane get quite as powerful as Dorian . the poor Bahamas were nearly annihilated. If there were ever a hell on earth it was right there in 2019
Still not the most powerful on record. Hurricane Patricia in 2015 had top winds of 200+ mph. It's the most intense hurricane (in terms of wind speed) on record in the western hemisphere.
@@frankjuggaloheathen1035 you are right there Bud. Patricia is the most powerful ever recorded as of right now in the world. I think they still consider typhoon tip in 1979 as one of the most powerful also. and typhoon haiyan in 2013 was no joke

wicked storm ... I've been watching hurricane season for 16 years now that's one of the most wicked storms I've ever seen. One of my other top ones is definitely Wilma in 2005 that was scary storm .... Monsterous at first
EDIT: I certainly am not discounting Maria and irma but dorian putting it in park for 24 hours on the Bahamas was just ridiculous
Absolutely. Maria was technically the stronger storm (908 mbar) but I found Dorian to be FAR more impressive and much, much worse than what Maria was. It reminds me of the Jarrell, Texas tornado. Dorian may not have been the strongest (although it was pretty close to Allen's 1-min sustained wind record in 1980), but due to the sheer fact that it just parked over the Bahamas is what set it over the edge. Dorian may possibly be the worst Atlantic hurricane of the 21st century. Michael, Maria, Irma, Wilma, Katrina, Rita, Dean and Felix were all catastrophic, but Dorian is the king for now.

i think trying to analyze the sheer amount of stuff that happens in the satellite might be why

this is relatively happy music for one of the worst hurricanes in modern times
I remember watching this and it felt like it stalled over for 2 weeks. Crazy storm to watch
The eye’s minimal interaction with land is one of the defining factors that allowed Dorian to maintain a lot of its strength for so long. It would have had a shorter but deadlier lifespan if it continued west from the Bahamas.
It's actually fascinating when it goes over the carolinas, the western flank of the storm looks like it starts to transition into a frontal setup than once the core wanders sufficiently far away from shore that western flank regenerates some of tropical storm characteristics!.

At the start the Thunderstorms were Boiling like mad for the first few minutes it really struggled to develop against strong Wind Shear and Dry Air both Hostile to Tropical System formation

Hey man, they are called floaters, they are a set of satellite images cropped and moves to a certain place, the floater moves because the storm also moves. Otherwise known as storm centered imagery. Also NOAA did the images, F13 just compiled them to the video. OK?
