This is a priceless performance. Gene knows how to play to the soul with his soul. God grant peace to his soul. Thank you for sharing this stellar performance.
I didn't know Leon Russell wrote "This Masquerade." I learned something new today. Great version here! I'll bet Mr. Russell was happy when George Benson recorded it in 1974.
THANK YOU for posting. Gene Harris is the most amazing jazz pianist ever. I miss him. You all "sing" in perfect harmony when you play together. I've introduced a whole new generation to your wonderful music. Blessings!
The most bluesiest and soul drenched pianist. Beautifully backed by Ron’s guitar probing solo’s. Just a bloody great quartet folks. Gene’s heyday’s were with his trio “ The Three Sounds” on the Blue Note label from the late 50’s to the mid 60’s and absolutely worth checking out folks. This is a great live gig. G’day & Cheers!
I remember when Paul became Lawrence Welk's drummer! Paul also was with the Montgomery brothers! Great documentation Ron and you a bad cat too! This video come's from the cats who embraced the Blues and American song forms.. This music is almost gone! I listen to the hotshots of today who have no musical stories and own sounds to be able to state what I have done.
I saw you guys the same year as this at the Elkhart Jazz Festival. The set you did at the Elco Theater was probably the greatest single set I've heard in person in my life. The later set at the Quality Inn poolside was also pretty amazing. That was the greatest night of music in my life.

This is how my soul feels when I'm totally tuned in.
Ron Escheté, I saw this group at KUVO public radio's 10th anniversary, in 1995, here in Denver, Gene was nice, I met him. This was a great band!
