Thank you for that very fine clear exegesis of an on a commonly misconstrued eisegesis apparently. I will continue to meditate and study a little bit more Shortly to be reaffirmed of the entire correct spirit of the teaching. But thanks for leading me in that direction to do so. I have a Jewish, Baptist, and now for some time nondenominational faith.
I've been ready to cut off or out an body parts I sinned with. This helps me understand Catholics better. I'm glad you feel I shouldn't have to call you or anyone else father.
No one has to call anyone anything. But in the Christian tradition even in the holy scriptures there is a precedent for the existence of spiritual fathers. That practice has continued until today. It's a big leap at least for me to go from protestant to orthodox. But I have learned a lot from the orthodox about Christianity. May our understanding increase for our good and in doing God's will.

I am older than you and may or may not be as learned as yourself in His Holy Word and find irony in your understanding of Mathew when Christ is literally rebuking the Pharisees for their putting tradition above the understanding of God being first and our only True Father. I sincerely mean no disrespect and do love you all as Christ commanded so please understand I'm only following the narrow path of Truth, His Life and His only Way. May His grace always be on you all! Edification in Truth is worth asking, so please I would love dialog in understanding that we all here love Christ and are part of His Church , just trying to understand is all.
St. Stephen referred to the members of the Sanhedrin as "brothers and fathers" (Acts 7:2). If St. Stephen transgressed the Lord's command to call no man father, then why did the Lord honor St. Stephen after he had done this? (Acts 7:55-56)
The people who make these comments are like a broken record. They have no other arguments to present because orthodoxy is the Truth. Glory to God in all things!

How many of you who are challenging Fr. Michael on this are living irreproachable Christian lives? How many of you are not having sex outside of marriage? How many of you are giving alms to the poor and fasting? I don't care what you are or are not doing but I have noticed many people who squeak about, 'call no man father' are not exactly doing 'everything' according to scripture yet they jump on this father issue... that is really not an issue, and make it out to be some huge crime. It is not. Even if we are all doing it wrong calling Fr. Michael, and other priests within Orthodoxy, 'Father'; can God's grace not also cover a respectful title given to another person as much as His grace covers real and actual grievous sins?

Jesus was not referring to fathers by blood but fathers referring to teachers, so as I understand it Jesus was saying teachers should not be referred to as “Father” Gods words are not hard to understand unless you are twisting scripture to fit your narrative

If “your” father so am I. If Christ is in “you” and He is in me also why should you not call me “father” as well?.. Or do I need to spend a few grand to go to Catholic seminary to be “chosen” and called. Then I can get my little white dog collar and be called “father”. Furthermore; You base it off Abraham but yet claim that Peter is the OG of catholicism yet nothing is mentioned of “Peter” and “father”and you only use Abraham to justify it. So if Peter is the OG of catholicism and there is no reference to “father” with him but you use Abraham to justify it then how can you claim Peter started the Catholic faith?
