Outstanding box and video! I have never made a box with box joints but after seeing yours I am going to give it try. Beautifully made and I like your method for installing those hinges, very professional! Thank you for posting!
That's a lovely box,and I must have picked up half a dozen tips from you that'll help me along with my projects.thank you for that, and thank you for a great and clearly explained video. 👏
Very nice. Good as a trinket box too. I use the same method with the hair dryer as it also protects the wood and stops it from stretching too. Great video mate 👍🏽 👌 👏
Chocolate box for the win! That came out so nice Vic, great job, box joints are the best joints! That cedar looks a million dollars, great choice to use it! 👍👍👍
Great vid. Terrifically shot, edited and narrated. That shot of you finishing the resaw cut on the bandsaw was chefs kiss great. I’ve gathered about 5 nice little tips. Thanks for sharing your work!
Love it mate. Ihave also made the Woodfather's Jig, I have to make a couple of tea boxes for christmas gifts. Anyway Vic, your box turned out very nicely, keep up the good work. All the best.
Nice box. The very tight fitting of the base to the box is a little concerning especially given your side of Oz is currently being inundated with water. It'll be interesting to see how it holds up over time if the weather continues down the path that the BOM predicts
Thank you. Im not really concerned about wood movement because that piece is so small, the amount of movement across a board less than 200mm in size would almost be zero.
Thank you very much. The beeswax is from a small business in Adelaide, use the link in the video description. The traditional wax is available from a few suppliers, just search for it. I think I bought mine from Timbecon.com.au
A wonderful box. the box with surprises 😉
Thank you very much.

When you did the hairdryer bit, I was struck by the difference it appeared to make till it dawned on me that it was a shadow I was seeing.
Haha, yeah i can see that now mate
Amazing job, love the lid and base design. Can I ask where source your waxes Vic?
Thank you very much. The beeswax is from a small business in Adelaide, use the link in the video description. The traditional wax is available from a few suppliers, just search for it. I think I bought mine from Timbecon.com.au
Wait a minute…..isn’t it always warm in Australia ?…….
Haha, no mate. This year's winter was the coldest in recent memory.
Nice one.
(There's a spelling error in your hashtag. I don't want to be 'that guy' but also don't want people to miss your video.)
Thanks mate, all fixed now 👍🏼
You take quite a risk not using a rive knive
Hi Colin. Thanks for your concern but when cutting pieces that small there is no chance of binding.
