Great review, was looking for a proper test of the V-Moda Boom pro with regards to background noise before purchasing since I'll be playing on a very noisy PS4.
I'm looking at buying the 9500/boompro combo but my main concern is that the open back nature of the headphones could cause background noise to be picked up by the boompro but given that you had a speaker playing music and it was barely audible, I imagine the boompro picking up the sound produced by the 9500's to be a non issue? I just worry that friends in chat would hear what's going on in my headset.
@@Sam-zw2kp I did. Been running this setup for a year now. Depending on how loud you're listening to audio, the vmoda can pick up that sound. It's not a big deal however, only when I'm on discord listening to loud volumes and a friend shouts or screams in discord, I can see that my mic picked up that sound. It's still a great combo however. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time with it so far.
Thx for the overview. Some things that would be helpful for people who have this SHP0500 / v moda setup or are looking at it: For your v moda tests were you plugging directly into the PC / mobo headphone & mic inputs using the v mod asplitter? Or first to a DAC? If direct to PC mobo, what Realtek or other audio platform version does it have? If using Win 10, what sound settings are you using to get good headphone volume and clear mic without ground loop or other hiss?
These do work for the Sonys, and I can confirm as I have them both. Keep in mind that you will need to mess with that mic sensitivity levels before starting up chat. Hope this helps!
I bought the boom pro for my Sony 2000mxh and the microphone audio doesn’t seem to work. The audio from my game comes in but the microphone doesn’t seem to work. Any help?
Nice vid mate. 1 question, I just got the v moda and the newer SHP 9600 but the 3.5mm on the mic doesn’t go all the way in on the newer model SHP9600. They still work but sit very loose and gets disconnected easily. Do you have any tips for this?
thanks for watching, you could perhaps try finding a small little 3.5mm headphone jack extension cable (male to female) that has thin shielding around it so that it can fit more snugly into the jack. Something like this www.amazon.com/Headset-Extender-Headphone-Extension-Smartphones/dp/B01LRQAIMA/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=pcgt00-20&linkId=ee8abcda05d5fdca4b04ef30132adc62&language=en_US By the way, how are the new 9600s? I've been anticipating those headphones for quite some time but they still aren't readily available here in canada.
I also have the SHP9500 and the V-MODA but the mic volume is very low. I have to increase +20 dB in the microphone properties in windows 10. Is this normal?

Exactly what I needed! I also have the blue yeti and had the same issue as you. Thx for the video!

Hey man. I am wondering the same thing. Did you end up buying this combo? If so, does the mic pick up the leaking sound?

Were you using a mech keyboard? If so, what keys? I'm trying to determine how annoying these possibly could be for friends listening.
how is this mic holding up now?? I want a mic that’s durable that can last me long
Still going strong use it almost every day for discord and multiplayer games.
Just got the Phillips headset with the v moda boom but it won't work with the mic on my ps4
Can you recommend any in-ear headphones that V-moda could attached to? I’m not into over-ear but in-ear headphone’s mic sucks 😢
You know what I might get for my videos
Do you believe these will work for the Wh-1000xm3 for the PS4?
I want to buy one but I don't want to spend money if they won't work
Same question.

Hi I dont know if youll see this but i was wondering if the vmoda picked up leaked sound from the open back headphones?
Will it work with the turtle beach ear force recon headset?
This combination works on ps4 too?

Could you tell me how you did that?
idk why but this mic isnt plug and play for me it does work on any of my PCs
question would this work on a ps4?
Yes it will. Simply just plug it into the Controller's 3.5mm jack.
