This is a very good video series... I think people will start buying more second hand golf clubs due to todays prices, but I do think you would be better of if you had the product in your studio to show up. And also dont have products on your desk that is golfrelated to clubs, because that takes the fokus to that these are the products you talk about. Have them behind you instead. if any. but I do want to see more of this.
Interesting video. I came back to golf last year and bought a set of TM M4's. I think they made and early and later version of these. Mine didn't have the side speed slots, but the earlier version did. They were decent clubs but never gave me a good feel really, even on the rare clean hit! I ended up finding some Gen 3 PXG 0311 XP's that I picked up and loved, and just replaced them w/ the same club in Gen 6 used - which I love even more. I spent around $250 and $300 for each set. Just awesome clubs. I'd definitely think they could be a candidate for your recommended used list for high handicappers. Stay warm and thanks for the interesting videos!
Great video Gaz, first video I have ever seen about clubs that have had issues. Oh by the way raining here in Nova Scotia Canada, but we might see some snow tomorrow and temperatures supposed to drop from 8 degrees celsius to minus 17 by Tuesday and Wednesday.
I have a set of 2021 T100S irons (not the T100) and luckily no issues with chrome plating pealing or chipping. Except for being 2 deg. stronger in loft, they're identical to the 2021 T100 irons. Love them, plenty of forgiveness with about 70-90 gr of tungsten in the heel & toe and great feeling forged steel heads. Keep these vids coming. Side note: beyond your time periods for best irons, but i still have my 2004 Callaway X-18 pro-series irons. These were my first ever custom fitted irons, with Uni-flex steel shafts, if i remember right they were in-between regular and stiff flex. Excellent iron, tons of forgiveness with huge cavity back heads, bore thru hosel's give you great feeling too. In fact, im changing the grips and going to use them as a my 2nd set to keep at my sons place in South Carolina, this way i dont have to put my gamers on a airplane.

Hi Gary I had a problem with my ping G400 max driver cracking it was out of warranty and Ping replaced it excellent after sales service hats of to Ping 👍🏴
Crown flew off my sim 2 3 wood. Taylormade replaced it but with a stealth as at that point had stopped selling sim’s. I never got on with stealth, just wasn’t very forgiving. When American golf starting selling sim 2’s again I got one as heard since they started selling them again had sorted the problem and touch wood no problems yet
@@garymartingolf I have just bought a set of VXF irons great condition for £119...4-PW and they have the same inserts etc as modern irons....it seems Yonex are way ahead of the big players.
Ping G400 prob best version of the ping g series performance wise. I had a G30 where the hosel got a crack in the metal so no doubting bit of a manufacturing flaw but def wouldnt be too concerned. Have the G400 a number of years now and no sign of wear on hosel.
I'd only ever buy s/h golf equipment unless I had winnings or gift cards to use...its the Tyke way 😉 Faces popped off the Stealths at first Gaz...in fact one 'Tuber had it happen when he was doing a vlog in his studio. TM have always been solid on replacing their clubs though 👍 Do you remember how weak Mizunos Chromium Plating was on their TP series irons? If you practised at all you were through to the Nickel then raw steel within a season...we tended to ignore it for the feel of the things though 😂😂😂
Great info as normal Gaz . Is it true that the ping g430 12degree drivers are illegal because of the face thickness 🤔. Just something I heard a few months back
My mate had the same problem with the faces of the Taylormade irons he had one round and some of them was caved in he took them back get a replacement to a different irons
I’ve got a set of Taylor made speedblades keep thinking I need to upgrade until I hit some irons I think I want to. Just hit the speed blades so well great irons
It sounds like you’re going to struggle to change. I’d just be patient and wait until you try something where you feel like you could make a positive change.
@ yeah definitely stick to what I know until something better comes along . A pro in a local small golf shop is lending me one of his fitting p770 7 iron for a while to see if I like it . But I hit a takomo 301 cb yesterday when I joined up with a player at our course who had them . Man they were sweet but yardage drop off for me . I like to get my hands on the 101t iron to have a go but not that easy unless you buy them 🙄😂
Morning gaz ya gotta go careful what you buy a think but with more tech I think more to go wrong I had a diablo 3 wood n the face cracked on it was a good club aswell
My mate has a set of titlest iron were the back kept popping off pretty recent set like a year old . We had to stop a round ones to go and look for one of the backs ended up in the bottom of his bag 😂 he sent them back to golf bidder
@garymartingolf personally I would take the risk they are great drivers and cheap at the moment i went back to a sim from a qi10 it's a much better driver
Never had a problem with my Sim Max, will not change until it breaks and no one I know has had a problem. Perhaps you should have included the Stealth as this has a very recognised issue
@ yeah mate I’m up and down with the driver but it’s definitely not the driver at fault 😬😂 but I’m gradually getting there shot a 78 at purbeck Saturday which is vgood for me usually 83/82 it is a par 70 but brutal course
I’m still playing sim 2 best driver ever bought a qi10 it didn’t compare these new products are a marketing scam the manufacturer s have been max out for years
🤣🤣🤣. I subscribe to “Consumer Reports”. Luxury Landrovers are always rated as the worst bang for buck one can buy. Fact based (not just “bad rep”) … Consumer Reports is all facts and statistics based on thousands and thousands of people surveyed. Great analogy with TM. 👍🤷♂️
Keep spreading the truth Gaz. The second hand market is huge and information like this is invaluable. Thanks mate.

First rate video, Gaz, great information presented in an objective way. Can't wait for the ones we SHOULD be looking at.
Absolutely love this series Gaz. I’m a subscriber and I am amazed at your perspective and approach to things. Keep it up. People will come. 🙂👍

That’s a great price for the gen 6 irons! I’ll check them out!
Great series Gaz. Glad I chose the Wilson D9 Forged and not the Mizuno JPX 923 Forged.
Love the D9 forged, they do miles!
I moved from AP2 18 into T150 and really enjoy them
Great info Gary as a lot of people buy secondhand with the price of new clubs nowadays 👍
100%, it’s a huge market!
Ping had problems with the early Zing irons in the 90’s. The shaft breaking in the hosel. I’m a Ping player too! Zing 2 my favourites of past models.
If you are a hard hitter avoid the stealth 2 and stealth drivers the face can pop out
I’ve got the stealth 2 driver and it is a concern, I’m hoping to upgrade it soon so that I can get some resale value back 👌🏼
