Just to give you an insight on why this section meant a lot for her - and especially for us the fans: before the album release, she debuted a song called "I Wanna Be With You" at the iTunes Festival alongside other album tracks. This was a song that talked about her relationship with her fans. By the time the album was released, this song was reworked into "Dope" - same melody but different lyrics. Some other songs she had debuted earlier also went through some changes, but nothing THAT major.
Throughout the album promotion cycle and the 80 dates of the tour, she only performed Dope.
So it was such a big moment and a surprise when at the very last show she decided to perform a little bit of "I Wanna Be With You". I remember watching this live and started crying when it happened 😢

The "claw" is for us, she calls her fans Little Monsters, and that claw is the representation of the fandom,

Shocked by 80 shows? She did over 200 shows for the Monster Ball from Nov ‘09 to May 11’

I'll give you three levels of Gaga beginnings:
Performing at an IKEA Parking lot: ruclips.net/video/y1vLYLjxfY8/видео.html
The fame Ball Tour (2009) Her first solo tour with very little budget: ruclips.net/video/7oN3tefQLdg/видео.htmlsi=N239NHI3D6oq8v4c
The Monster Ball Tour(2009-2011) Her second World Tour with more budget (but she went bankrupt creating it.) It ran for over 200 shows: ruclips.net/video/S_sy4RzdqE0/видео.htmlsi=maR51ezjNFhd4NXI
I promise you, she performs with the same stage presence and energy in all three of these as she does in the ArtRave

Thank you for continuing the ArtRave! We love your Gaga reactions so much 🩵 and the claw sign is a fan thing we started to do around the Bad Romance times, that’s why in her song “Born this way” it says “just put your paws up, cause you were born this way baby”, referring to us, the little monster’s fan base. 😂🩵

she mostly sings between her songs some random words like "monsters I love you" it's not necessary part of a real song :)

And then the claw is just a way to connect with her fans. Since she is referred to as Mother Monster, that’s just her thing. The Little Monsters usually put it up too whenever she does. There’s really nothing to explain. I know she got both “Mother Monster” and the claw tattooed on the left side of her chest, like right below her armpit.

    Anyway, about the song.
Dope is a very deep song for her, talks about her drug addictions like marijuana, and I think painkillers from when the Born This Way injury happened and how she was in such a low place that she felt like she lost everything. ARTPOP era was a rough and depressing time for her because the record team at the time had abandoned her after they saw that ARTPOP didn’t get the recognition BTW did, which forced her to do EVERYTHING HERSELF. She tried to keep a smile on her face for the most of it, but when she performed at the SXSW Festival, that’s where the pain really showed. The song is a “I’m sorry” to the fans and her family, but there was never really something she should apologize about because I feel like we all go through things and it’s completely okay to not be okay.

Well technically, she was a Go-Go dancer, which is a woman who would go around town and dance in bars and clubs in ridiculously tall heels and revealing clothing (I’m talking underwear and bras, sometimes she’d whip off the bra), which IS a exotic dancer. So yes, she is a stripper but is not the generic pole dancer kind people think about when they hear the word “stripper”. I think she started young around 18 or 19, before she got famous when she was 22. She’s so natural on the catwalk because she’s definitely had some experience, thanks to Lady Starlight which she also got “Lady Gaga” from.😂
