    LOL. That moment Rache, when you told Rob he was looking really good, the look on his face told me he thought he was 20 years old again. Then he crashed and burned when you said you were referring to the zinc on his nose. Perfect burn! (No pun intended)

    The mark of a true cruiser. No marina needed, just a good sandy spot to let her go up on the dry. I am looking forward to your rounding the tip of South Africa. The other cruising channels used the Suez canal, so this will be exciting to see. • @TheCruisingKiwis
      @TheCruisingKiwis  Месяц назад +1

      Unfortunately the results are inconclusive. We didn’t really have enough ivermectin, which we then covered the whole hull with. It would have been more sensible to have mixed it into a small pot and just painted a designated area. On the upside, I believe there are lots of boats mixing ivermectin into their anti foul at Rebak marina. Thus the vet has become far more generous with the quantity of the drug he will prescribe.

This helps a lot to prevent water entry and you don’t get pressure in the drives when hot which leaks oil and then a vacuum when they cool which draws in saltwater.. also it’s good to water paper the shaft seal area before fitting new seals. I'm sure Ivan's getting restless living on the boat without anyone his own age. Have you considered allowing him go to school somewhere other than home schooling? He's very athletic might be good for him to play school sports with his peers. ⚽️🏀⚾️🏏🥍
    Wonderful seeing Declan sounds like he's doing awesome.
    Good job fixing your boat Rob. 👏

      It’s a good idea. Ivan’s got his eye on some courses in Cape Town to qualify to work on super yachts.

    Rachel, the only reason Zatara (Keith) doesn't make as many mistakes as Rob is because Renee gets paid to edit that out.🤣🤣🤣

    No worries on the sea water impeller, from what I can see, you probably didn't run it that long.

    If you get water in the oil on SD20, you need to fill the oil so that it JUST touches the lower mark on the dipstick. There is some kind of problem with those Saildrives (konnichiwa, Yanmar-san, we love the Japanese quality, arigato!) and Yanmar issued a "service bulletin" about it. Look it up on the Internet in case I remember it wrong.

      Yeah you're correct and is what I did do this time. I read about it on a forum somewhere. I should discuss in an episode sometime.
