- This should work with any car or truck.
Fix your oil pan for only about $20 !!
Save HUNDREDS or even THOUSANDS with this simple 3 step process that is DIY friendly!
I spent about $20 on the SteelStick and JB Weld Original. I already had the Oxi-Clean at home.
Prep is going to be the most important part of this process! Make sure to thoroughly clean and prep area before applying the JB Weld.
This actually worked !! And the JB Weld held up really well !!

Cleaning the surface is key . Also if you can’t get oil to completely stop use crayon on the crack and dig it in . It will stop the oil long enough for you to use this method .👍🏽
I didn’t know that one 😂🤙🏽
I just got into a crash about 4 hours and cracked my pan. I sprayed a ton of brake cleaner and patched with JB, not sure how long it's gonna hold
Update: I made it home and just threw a new oil pan on.
Dude at the mechanic told me $2500 to fix it and offered to buy it for $250. Cost me less than $100
Excellent advice I hope I don't have to use any of this but I like watching it thanks for the videos
That crayon idea worked like a charm. Was able to clean and prep long enough without any oil coming out.👍🏾
I did the oil pan on my jeep 7 years ago, still holding.. Make sure you get the pan really clean before using the J B Weld.
It’s been a year for me and still going strong 💪🏽. Prep is the most important part in my opinion
you see, i did this to my f-150 today. i used carb cleaner and a rag. not clean enough i promise. it seeps around the edges and barely leaks out. might get the liquid mixture he used for last coat, and just slap in on and hope that she holds up👍🏽 definatly don’t wanna change the oil pan on that thing
Yeah agree with you that something like this pretty cheap and much easier to fix it . Worth a shot . This mechanic who owns a shop told me it never failed him . I've a tiny hairline crack on my aluminum pan and using something similar called QuickAluminum cost $17 looks like yours in a plastic tube mix it with your fingers . He even told me where to buy it and how to use it . Just mix it with your fingers put on prep area . He told me to let oil drain out of it overnight . Use brake cleaner then use brush /scrape it . Put on thin narow line right on the crack the first time wait on hour . then put on wider application the second time wait one hour .
Just did it for my car couple days ago and it worked thanks a lot man . You a lifesaver
Woke up to oil on the floor, haven’t checked what it is yet but now I’m ready if it’s the oil pan 😎
Yep I'm not taking all the bullshit off just to fix my oil pan so I'm gonna do this.. Looks good
I did something similar but I only used Marine Weld Syringe. I was 70 miles from home when I hit an object on the road and gouged my transmission pan. Stopped.by autozone, fixed it outside AutoZone, and waited an hour for the cure time. 200 miles later it's still holding up. But it was an emergency repair on the road and I'll eventually change pan.
Doing mine right this second. Thanks man! 👍🏽
Thanks for this video 🙏! I have a three week wait to get into any reputable shop around here, and this vid help!
Good luck 🤙
I did mine 2 years ago it had hair line cracks a lot of them and it has held up great.
I used quiksteel for mine held up quite sometime until yesterday. Replaced oil pan with a spare, only to find that it also has a crack in it. Back to the auto parts store.
I half assed cleaned my pan with break cleaner, for the most part the JB weld is holding hope it works.
Stained the shit out of my driveway 🤣
I felt that✊🏾
😂🤙
The best RUclipsr I’m now subscribed 💯
I had a tiny crack in my Honda element oil pan I used black gasket maker ( it’s what I had) and it hasn’t leaked since. Been about 10 months.
That's what's up ehh yeaah man I been contemplating having the mechanic replace my oil pan for like a couple 3 bills after attempting to do the job myself the exhaust in the way so stressing about it gacho I have some jb weld steel stick for months so I'ma give it a try good video
Cleaning and roughing the surface are the most important parts!!!!
Im always curious if it has a bad hole can you just drill and use a "expanding PVC plug" or the doorman expand plug
Does this work on an aluminium oil pan? (bmw 118i e87) a new one is around 800 bucks with service.
I hit a curb. Now have a small leak, I'm just not sure where it's coming from. Would the oil pan be the most likely place?
The steel stick is great. Used it to ply a hole in my motorcycle gas tank. That steel stick only needs 5-10 min to cure. You can feel it getting hot while mixing it. But yeah I'm about to do my oil pan it cracked last week. Gonna solder it first then use the steel stick.
solder aluminum is possible?
some pans are steel. put a magnet on it, if it sticks its steel.@@CBRRR-eh3ky
Great video help thanks!
Im about to try this method, hopefully it works
Good luck 🤙
you thinking of making a post results video of how the epoxy glued oil pan is after a couple years?
Lol love the keeping it real video!

How’d it go?
Alonso, I followed your procedure, fingers crossed it works...i'll update after 3 months....Wife's car too!!
Good luck Kamuti ! I did the repair back in March 2020 and it’s still holding up ! Not a single drop of oil (:
Might try this on my 1000rr.

How long has this held up for?
How long did you wait before you put oil into it?
About 8 hrs 👍🏽
Hi there. you think if i put this around the oil pan it will work for me. i have my truck leaking motor oil from the rear side of the oil motor pan. for so many years. i dont have money to pay for getting it repaired
It depends, is it leaking from the gasket or a crack in the pan like the video? If it’s from the gasket it’s more tricky but rtv gasket maker will help if you clean it well with brake clean and slather it all over.
I have a crack in my oil pan but it's not leaking, you think it's safe to do this while theres oil in the pan?
Yeah bro, I think as long as you clean it as beast as you can, it should be fine.
Am I the only one who is laughing my ass off with all the cursing? Now this is my type of video lol
I’ve gotten mixed comments about it 😂 lol. My other videos are more on the PG side now. 😅
Thanks homie! I learned some cool shit from a real one. Guna try this tomorrow. If it works I owe you cold one. if it don’t then f it , I’ll buy a new pan.
Did it work????
What is the power tool you're using to sand and clean it?
Milwaukee impact for small torqued bolts

Used this to fix a big crack in the sump on a VZ Commodore..was still sealed tight 3 years later .
I used to fix big crack in the sump on VZ Commodore. Caused by trolley jack.
Permatex Permapoxy 4 Minute Multi-Metal Epoxy

Cure time 4hrs
Used on a crack on a sump caused by trolley jack. Was sealed tight 3 years later still.
Question...I don't know a lot about cars but if we did this to repair a bad oil plug, how is the next oil changed performed? So they need to pump the oil out?
Ohhhh snap, that’s a good question bro. Mechanic will most likely want to replace the pan. Not to sure tho
Yes you can just get a pump from harbor freight . Me Mercedes didn’t have a drain plug the pump mine
You can replace the original plug with a piggyback or spring-loaded valve type.
I also have a small hole in the oil pan but i didn’t notice while driving because of my music and my engine and everything cut off. Was that the cut off sensor doing its job or is my engine probably fucked😭
Ohhhh snap, I just saw this. What ended up happening? Lol
Still works?
Best

Do you think that would work on an oil filter
Sorry bro, I don’t think so, you’ll never know till you try it 😎

What's the other thing called the black and white stuff?

I’m definitely gonna try it I’ve got a small crack on the oil pan of my Gsxr 1000 oil pan this will work an I’ve got an idea to make it look nice maybe lol thanks for the info
Did you try it? Worked? Got a hairline crack on my pan on my Gsxr, over tightening the oil plug 🤦🏻♂️
@@aarondaniel9986 yha I took the pan completely off scuffed up the area where I put the jb weld it’s been a couple months now and no leaks
@@rezkidgamingyt4725 Oh ok sweet. Did you put it on the inside or outside? It seems like a pain in the ass taking that pan off
@@aarondaniel9986 in and out just a thin coat on the inside
How long should I let it sit
At least 24 hrs
Ya, but it was tiny leak. I had one the size of a nickel and applied two different sets of epoxy, three steel sticks and a half a can of gorilla glue adhesive and the oil still leaks.
The only thing I can say is that the cleanliness and prep of the affected are is WAAAAYYY more important than the thickness or type of epoxy you put. You can wrap anything with gold, but if it’s not prepped properly it will fail.
@@shoobiedoubie6871 What I should have did was plug it with a metal cork first. You can't expect to patch a hole the size of a nickel and just have a screen and that jb weld. It's not strong enough. The oil slowly leaks through the patch and tears the weld apart. I should have been smart enough to just replace the oil pan instead of hoping for a quick fix with the jb weld. $120 later and I learned my lesson finally. I will replace it this week.
@@anthoneytolliver4442 that is a very good point 🤔
How's it holding up now?

@@shoobiedoubie6871 NO WAYYYY
@@shoobiedoubie6871 hey chic here 😂just got my car fixed 3 times the guy cracked my oil pan and acted like he didn't do it charged me 400 t0 find 2 ground wires well I pick it up and not one drop of oil I turned around he put oil in it, what a rip off man oil never leaked until he worked on it, OK so it's real small I loose a quark a night but it's a steady drip oh follow these steps and let sit over night or 24 hours? This suck ass man can't find any good mechanics here and does it have to be nice out?
@@shoobiedoubie6871sorry my question was to you
Doesn’t the oil pan heats up?
It does, but it doesn’t heat up enough to melt it
Does this work on a motorcycle??
Yessir ! As long as you clean the surface as best as you can ! Keep in mind I let this pan drain for 2 whole days before I did this repair. You don’t want any oil or any kind of residue around the area.
Good luck ! 👍🏽
Thank u just sucks cuz its a corner and part of drain hole lol
I have the same problem on my yamaha blaster. A small crack that starts at the drain plug hole. I will be giving marine jb weld a try.
