Just waiting 4 the 27th Nov 4my ssi , $0.57 right now wouldn’t go far LOL. Though believe Everyone can pitch in something recovery will be long and so will be the need. Roll up Your Sleeves America. And stand up at this huge Land Grab from the Federal Government...... this act is treason to the public in need that they are supposed to Protect not rape them of their land after a disaster. It’s just UnAmerican!
Content like this is VITAL. More people need to understand exactly what has happened here and what is continuing to take place. In times of disaster, it is always the PEOPLE that forge through. Not government. We were proud to donate what we could. Being north Florida residents and weathering 3 hurricanes in 14 months, we understand. We are also extremely aware that our situation is NOTHING compared to the scope of destruction and loss that y'all are enduring. Stay strong. We the people will preservere and continue to take care of each other.
Living not far from Elk River in Banner Elk, I know that helicopters and small planes were what helped so much in the beginning up here the first few days after Helene hit. It's so much appreciated by many people who could not get out of their areas for days. Bless these people who helped so much in the remote areas!! They were the first sign of help coming and hope!!
@12:03, He's absolutely right. Erwin, TN is 15 minutes south of me. They just fixed Hwy 26 bridge (that had washed away) going toward Asheville from Johnson City recently so I took a drive last week, and I started to cry as I drove through there. I knew what to expect, but I was shocked. There is nothing like seeing it with your own eyes, on the ground. I looked over at the hospital that was under water, where they rescued the patients and staff off the roof, it was unbelievable. The piles of trees and debris were monstrously tall, the trucks and equipment sitting next to it looked like matchbox cars and tonka play trucks. The massive amount of water and debris that settled in the aftermath blows me away, but to be caught up in it at the time, my God, what a terrifying experience. Now the waters are contaminated all down stream, don't know if the drinking water is safe. The area of devastation is the size of a European country. And then a month later, Spain was hit with the SAME catastrophic rainfall in short amount of time. LBJ once said, "He who controls the weather, will control the world."
Everyone in this country needs to see this video! There is such lack of awareness concerning this devastation. Mark, you are doing such good work. Maybe try to get this video to Trump?
Watch Jake Jarvis with his company Precision Grading. He is doing a great deal of work in Green River Cove and clearing many miles of this river debris. Fascinating to watch!
Thanks Mark for the tour. Those winds just snapped those trees like toothpicks. Good to have people like yourself with your skills available in times of tragedy. I pray for all individuals to be restored 100%.
Great video, Mark. Thanks again for bringing things like the museum and the folks associated with it to the forefront. Especially wings of hope. Without these guys and their aircraft in many cases, there wouldn't be any help getting to a lot of folks in need. I'm still in awe of the damage that this storm caused.
As all of your videos you show the distraction from a totally different point. Seeing the vast area of slides and river new placement, this is an unbelievable task to save and rebuild these areas.
Thank you for taking me along for the ride. So miss it. Retired now. X Navy Aviation Election, SAR wet swimmer, Qualified Aircrew H3, uh1j, ch46/ HH46 helps out of PAX River. It was one heck of a storm - and certainly not the easiest area to fly around - you must have to be on tenterhooks the whole time. But y'all are doing amazing work and will be a Godsend to the community desperate for aid and assistance. Prayers & thanks
May god be with you and all of the ones that surround you good luck and stay safe, This really touched my heart when I seen this I’ve been praying for you all sense the beginning I’ve nvr been touched emotionally quit like this ever before by anything else Until Helene just barely missed where I’m located in NC and I turned on the tv that morning and heard the situation that had unfolded all thru out WNC 🙏🏻❤️
Great video! Thank you for bringing the info to light, for those who might not realize how bad it still is out there. So very cute that you got to fly up and wave at your family. Future pilot in the making indeed. 😊👋
Thank you for this. Shared to help. People like all of you are needed, Thank You ! It's incredible to see everything. It'll take years to rebuild back to what it once was - if that's allowed. Loved seeing you in the pilot's seat =)
Mark, thank you for sharing the need. I will answer the call for as many as I am able. I also like reading the comments and replies, but I'm wondering if there is a setting you can use to have us *not* go back to the first comment after reading replies? It's so hard having to start all over again with the first comment after reading a reply.
@@MarkHuneycutt I do use a phone or tablet and it doesn't happen with all channels, just some. There may be another factor at work. It doesn't stop my following your videos, though. What you are doing is important.
Excellent use of your education/tallent Mark Please look at mission aviation fellowship (MAF) possibly they fly a lot in papua new guinea + it's a great country very likely in your area you'd be a great asset Mark
THANK YOU MARK AND CREW..I HEARD TODAY END SHELTERS,AND WORD IS IF THE PARENTS HAVE NO SOLID STRUCTURE TO GO TO,THE STATE IS GONNA TAKE THE KIDS.?HAVE YOU HEARD THIS?
There are still other organizations out there. Samaritan's Purse, Operation Blessings, plus local areas have opened warehouses to help. Patara (Appalachia's homestead with Patara) and Pinball (Pinball Preparedness) are in TN, have helped a lot, and have posted links to great organizations to donate to. Bear Independence is another one that has been helping.
Some mountain areas have damage from the mudslides coming down them. It has gotten colder here now so there are some trees as well that are in the ‘’season’’ of dormancy.

Helicopters are SO scary to me. They're VERY rudimentary compared to a passenger jet. That being said, I've taken them and will again
