Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this also the first time he's teamed with the 1st individual placement player. I just checked MCC 22&28 and he had Purpled in 2nd (22) and Punz in 6th (28)
Jordan had 63.6% accuracy in dodgebolt in this MCC (Higher than anyone in MCC33) and also highest accuracy for anyone who took 10+ shots, the last highest was quig in mcc23 (72.7%). Congrats cap!
i genuinely think this team did so well because of the practice they did as a team beforehand. wish teams practiced together more, you guys did AMAZING!
This was a great MCC to watch regardless of where you finished. Great individual performance from you and a great team performance from everyone. SPOILERS When you got that clutch to get dodgebolt to the last round I so thought you would go onto win. But they targeted you and fruitberries in the final round.
So proud of you guys! Many people on reddit claimed your team would probably not perform very well, because you didn't have one clear leader, but you didn't need that! (Also, Jordan did well on leaderless teams multiple times before, like MCC 3, 8, 18, 20) You crushed the games! And I'm proud of Jordan individually, for doing well in Rocket Spleef Rush, Hole in the Wall, Dodgebolt and other games. Remember when his teams could never win a round of Sky Battle? Well, now they won 2 in one set! That final round was chaotic and hilarious to watch live, death and destruction around them, and yellow just inside blocks in the very middle. They did so well in so many games that even the worse Meltdown couldn't harm their score. Such a commanding lead! Let's especially appreciate Jordan's dodgebolt performance, it was amazing! He carried his team and bought them one more chance, not letting red finish on a 3-1. It wasn't a 1v3, but it was a 1v2 against some of the most dangerous dodgebolt players ever, Sapnap being possibly the best one (also winning his 6th dodgebolt in a row). It's even more impressive when you consider how stressful that must have been, Jordan always said that he hated being the last one alive on his team and everything depending on him, this time, if he didn't dodge well enough, the team would lose that very round, and yet, he absolutely pulled through. According to stats, he was the best dodgebolt player in both dodging and shooting accuracy from BOTH TEAMS. I'm so proud of him. It's just a bit annoying that MCC reddit didn't really recognize his achievement, they usually make so many posts when a 1v3 happens, and admittedly, it was not a 1v3, but still super impressive. They made more posts about Oli facing Sapnap and Punz in the last round, saying that he was in an epic stand-off, or trying his best, instead of mentioning Jordan. Sad. Also, loved the "It's not blue, it's left." quote from Hole in the Wall, I think Oli said it but I'm not 100% sure.
The fact that they didn't even break 1000 coins and were the only team to do so in meltdown and were only just in second shows how commanding their lead was
Even though he didn't win, at least he made it to dogebolt for once in season 3 but he will get his third coin eventually maybe with the different strong team
Sparklez was the reason why it ended up as a single shot to win the game. It would have been incredible if both olli and sparklez pulled off the 2v1 against Punz and Sapnap
THIS WAS SO GOOD OH MY GOD CONGRATS!!!! even though you didn't win you absolutely played amazing!!! Captain was targeted in dodgebolt cause they knew he was a threat. it would've been iconic if the 33rd MCC was won by Captain "third place curse" Sparkelz's team but this is a win in my heart! my heart was beating so hard in dodgebolt and my hands are _still_ shaking lol you guys all did so incredible!!
First map where Captain elimned himself he had a head hitter right above him that blew up after he tried launching. It seemed almost synchronized, but there was a moment where that was still there and that's why he did not launch. You can tell by how his character moved it showed the movement of someone hitting their head on a block.
This was genuinely one of the best I've seen. Had so much fun watching this one live. 😄 I may have some thoughts about one game in particular from when I watched live. It's long, but more a question of whether there's an alternative way of handling things. I don't know, but it is an interesting thing to ponder since I can't say whether there _is_ variation potential, or not. 🤔 Meltdown could probably have been better with better spawns, but they weren't really any worse than the very first meltdown of MCC, which almost no one knew for sure how to play. This, I figure, is why your team with Purpled did as well as it did, more than an actual skill-based superiority, or deficiency on any individual player's part. One of the things that seems to be the case is that players who get to the outer coin payload in their path before the other nearest teams are absolutely at risk of being pincered between the two teams following. You were making an effort to be ready, but it amounts to little when you are first to the coins with two on your tail adding another element of chaos to the shots traded. A team who breaks the norm going another way to become a third tail on one that's a bit further off may allow the two teams spared their presence to potentially get further to the inner one, but the breakoffs might be the team that wipes enough of the rest of the competition to get more k.o. points, and maybe a better shot at the center load if said team is sufficiently aggressive. Meltdown doesn't really have a varied playbook from what I can tell, and I couldn't say if this more risky and highly aggressive strategy would actually work. Team survival matters. k.o. count matters. Coin total matters. But which factor you go for may determine how long your team stands. Maybe even make it the last one standing. The coin total strat didn't serve you so well this time, but that's kinda why people say "be the hunter" to you. There's risk in that, yes, but you have better odds trailing behind in the name of hunting the other teams as a team on the offense, than pushing ahead and having to defend yourself against more than you may be able to handle. All this aside, I don't think anything was particularly misplayed. You did your best, actually true, and that showed in how powerful this team turned out to be. An incredible showing by your Yellow Yaks this round. Well done!
The scary finale as what it was expected to be being good with the captain having alot of fun and going back to back and being a trio being just very epic to see and but some different stuff going sometimes
you guys had spectacular team synergy. the battle box game in particular was outstanding. with that said with all due respect Oli threw so forking hard in dodgebolt. I was screaming at my screen. why is he standing still? he missed so many shots, why isn't fruitberries shooting? Shadoune had a great track record too Cap was crushing it as always. you could have easily won. Still, you played incredibly well. Finishing 11th individually, 1st in team points and second in the tournament is no small feat.
i feel like the team in first (in the event standings) should get some form of advantage in db, be it both arrows at the start or something. the team in first place in event standings barely wins the actual event these days, though they technically deserve it more. it's getting a bit out of hand for me, personally. or maybe im just salty because the pov im rooting for (28, 29, 30, 31, 33) always loses db, idk anymore. sorry for the wall of text but yeah i do want to get these thoughts out there
I’ve felt for a time that the first place team should get 2 lives, the 2nd place team should need 2 wins in dodgebolt and the 1st place team only needs 1
I agree. Something like the team in the lead gets a 1 round advantage. So they have to win 2 to win while second would have to win 3. But I also feel if the score is close enough (so not like this event). I think it would work better if it was a best of 7 though, so 3 and 4 rounds won respectively.
That was an awesome one! You guys make for an awesome team, and a damn dangerous one at that! Shame it ended against you but it was more than valiant. Hope this team is reunited again!
Jordan i think when you try to rocket jump you cant be gliding. You have to be standing to properly do it so you cant really do it on the fly like you try to. But obviously ive never done it so you know more than i do.
I’ve always felt like there should be some advantage for being the first place team before dodgebolt like maybe they start with arrows first? Idk it bothers me too
Nah it's more dramatic if it's fair, it means it's not just a straight win for whoever the "best" team is, even if someone gets a massive lead, everyone else still has a chance cos you only need to get second to have a chance to win, I think that's way more interesting
@@cassius7854 does make it more dramatic, that's why I like the if-your-team-is-losing-you-get-two-arrows rule, but sometimes it seems unfair, but hey, MCC is entertainment first
