This is one of those MCCs where Cap absolutely wasn't carried by any one. He held his own and without him there would have been a different outcome. That battlebox performance was insane.
Gotta love the teams where no one is a "dump stat" but everyone is amazing on their own so that even the team's weakest performances are still able to be extremely well done.
if anything he's proving that with the right team he's a top level player 8th overall is amazing and the coms were amazing for most of the time this team had great synergy
Yeup, I agree, I really didn't like how they treated him and Finn last MCC, ignoring what they were saying, refusing to not swear (even though when filling the MCC sign-up form, they apparently claimed they could be PG), and abandoning their teammates to go cause chaos in another team's VC. This dodgebolt felt like karma for that. Even though I do feel kind of bad for Jack Manifold not winning a single dodgebolt round and Illumina getting such a mindblowing individual score, and yet, not winning in Season 2. _But_ Jack doesn't seem like the kind of person to be very upset over Dodgebolt, and Illumina has both a Season 1 coin and a very unique Pride coin that will never be acquired by another team again anyway.
@@maggieskr5299 I do also feel bad for Illumina, though I feel like getting "Highest coin average/Best player/MVP" of Season 2 is better than winning one. And I think Jack is farming the Dodgebolt curse at this point lol. Let's not forget that Captain had also lost every round of Dodgebolt before his win in MCC22(8 round losses and 3 sweeps total I believe).
@@keflalssj Maggie explained some of it already, but basically Tommy and Jack were constantly yelling and swearing, they didn't even try to be PG for Cap. Plus they largely ignored Cap and Finn, talking 99% with each other. Then(mainly Tommy) yelling at Cap during Grid runners and saying he has dementia(Obviously a joke, but at the time it was just uncomfortable because they had been yelling at him and swearing and sounded fully serious). Finally they just abandoned Cap and Finn to join Tubbo's vc for a large part of the rest of the event. In the end, they came last. Imo it was the hardest of Captains MCCs to watch(including the awkward MCC10 where a teammate muted for 90% of SoT(dealing with irl stuff)) and it remains the only one he never uploaded to YT.

This MCC was amazing! What a phenomenal end to Season 2! The team chemistry was great, one of my favorites ever! Even when one of them made a mistake, others would step in and help, find a solution. In the end, it was very positive. The range between their placements was so small, 6th individual for Punz, 8th for Jordan, 12th for Sneeg and 14th for Jimmy, a team where everyone contributed a lot. There were so many great moments, like Sneeg finishing Parkour Warrior at the last second; Jordan doing super well, top of his team in Battle Box and Sky Battle, and getting so many kills, including that great Simmers one with the harming potion; Punz leading incredibly well in the first two rounds of Meltdown, and saving the whole team, leading them to a round victory, plus landing very good shots in Dodgebolt; Jimmy pulling a 1v3 in such a quick, decisive fashion. So happy to see Jordan win yet again, and get into the top 10! I'm so proud of him becoming a 2-time winner, very well-deserved! This MCC is yet another example that he can be very good at PvP, he just needs confidence and support. I hope in Season 3, he gets more positive teams like this one. Happy for Punz getting a Season 2 coin! Their team could be called the Two Time Winners. Teal Turkeys keep the 100% Christmas winrate with 3/3. Gobble gobble to the top, the teal twerkies they don't stop! 🦃 (It was kind of intense during the event, but looking back, it must have looked pretty funny when they all jumped into the lava after Punz...)
This Team was so well balanced, and had such good chemistry in the games. They weren't neccisarly a seemingly staked team, but together they could perform just well enough to squeak it out ahead.

This MCC was perfect, great team chemistry and captiain went insane mode in battle box (which he regularly doesn't do good). The team did a very uniform performance that took them to victory. GGs cap!

This was such a perfect team! Everyone was at around the same skill level and each had their own unique specialties. There wasn't any one clear person that carried the team, this was 100% teamwork and so much fun to watch!

I actually didn't even know MCC happened since I didn't see anything on Twitter and the subreddit has been silent (at least silent enough for me not to notice) so by the time dodgebolt came around I assumed they had lost. What a pleasant surprise when I saw the outcome! Great MCC!

I think people should retire the idea that the first few rounds don't matter. It seems whenever Captain and his team do well the momentum carries on with them.
I think it's mostly a defense mechanism, if they don't do well in the first games, they tell themselves it doesn't matter, so that they can gain more confidence and have more of a chance to do well in the next games. A way to reassure the team.
Some spoilers in this but WHAT an MCC!!! What a Battle Box!!! What a Meltdown? And a great individual performance by Cap too. Everyone contributed and if one person wasn't there they wouldn't have won. Even in Rocket Spleef which wasn't considered good for the team last place wasn't on the cards. Parkour warrior was solid as well. Ace Race was a massive team performance. Battle Box was insane (Cap got over a kill a every game averaged out both between melee, bow and the harming pot drop for 2 in that game was bloody incredible), Grid Runners was a great performance too (but that minecart track did NOT sound fun but the communication was there 100%). And then MELTDOWN! Meltdown usually doesn't go well but the strats were solidly done and explained and there was an element of luck as well as just great plays from Sneeg to get everybody out and then pick up all the gold at the end. Especially the massive save by Punz in Meltdown. Snows of Time was SO unlucky not getting the last vault down the last corridor but it wasn't a problem as the place i Dodgeblt as booked and the complete sweep occurred. Well Done Cap!!
Something I've noticed about punz is that he performs much better as second frag. He is an amazing individual player, but he struggles with communication and gamesense. This is especially obvious during this event's skybattle.
This is one of the best mccs and I think even tho this team is pretty good it'd be fun to see again maybe with one of you switched out for a worse player. Congrats!

I was really having my doubts around Snows of time, but that clutch was one of the best I've seen in MCC.
