Was awesome to see it all in person Nate. Thanks for taking matt and I out. It was a true honor to meet ya. Thanks for being a kind dude willing to share you art with the world. Also thanks for the baits I will send ya some photos of them hanging out of a giant soon.
I watch a lot of RUclips and you Sir are my favorite creator and artist, by far! You inspired me to create my own wooden baits, a new and rewarding hobby. THANK YOU!
Holy heck, I was like wait, is that the Matt Heckler, like the musician. Yep, it was lol. Him, Jason, Benjamin Tod, Willie Carlisle and all that gang are awesome. Been listening to all those guys on Western AF for ages now, along with watching Marling Baits for years, talk about worlds colliding lol. Btw, great looking little lure!
I was just wondering myself why he didn't have a 3D printer already. Although I do like watching them carve everything by hand as well. There's a bit of a learning curve when it comes to zbrush sculpting
I think a 3D printer would be useful for printing unique shaped bills/tails. But to print the whole bait, seems more like production. What he does now is art.
Nate it's pure joy to watch what you put into the baits you make, and share with your friends. It was a very good video watching you and your friends out together fishing.
Nate, you have no idea how much it brightened my day to see you had uploaded a new video. Been dealing with a lot this week. Adjusting to 11 hour shifts starting at 3am, moving into an apartment in a new town, and financial strain on top of it all. Haven't really had a moment to stop and appreciate anything for days, but I just got to watch my favorite RUclipsr while packing boxes and things were okay for a while. Thanks for keeping up with what you do. I'm gonna take the vid for one more spin.
Watching you twist the wire on that tiny lip in the vice. Wonderful cinematography. really let me feel the tension and anxiety over whether that would break or not. I see the eye for cinematography with that sweet small mouth slow motion release. Maybe a small sound track will bump up that experience. awesome work.
Outstanding work, Nate! I didn't make one, but I found a Heddon "Tiny Runt" while I was walking the dog today, from what I can tell it's a micro crank from the 60s-70s! I'm not sure when it went out of production, but the metal bill's in great shape, and it has that super cool old-school shoe tree/duck bill shape to the head! Can't wait to clean it up 🎣
Ok, so I'm going to throw a curveball out there and see what your thoughts may be about it. I want to see a reverse dive bate. I'm tempted to make one from stone and see how it turns out! Put the bill on top and make it rise while retrieving and sink pretty quick on pauses.
What are you chasing? I went fishing here in South East Australia yesterday & had a sick session! It was so fucking cold though ‘cause it’s the middle of winter here haha.
i havent recently watched your channel as it has been some time ive spent away from youtube. i remember years ago i used to come to your channel and watch you make your lures to eventually try to catch fish on them. i remember when you made your first one day build to catch and i have missed binge watching them dearly. im glad to be back and also be welcomed by a fresh upload from marling baits. keep up the amazing work man!
If you want a super smooth clear coat, you might want to look at Loon UV Flow or something similar. We use it a lot in fly tying and i thing that would make the process a lot easier as it's much thinner.
Dude!, it was good to see you go fishing, obviously you making lures are the bread & butter videos, and the create/cast/catch vid are badass, it’s good to see you just having fun catching fish. 👊
My favorite lures are small lures because I catch more fish on small lures than large lures. And yes, I catch BIG fish on small lures! Also, my favorite pole is 5 to 6 feet light weight and a 1000 reel.
My favourite lure is a tiny neutral buoyancy diving lure by Strike King, it’s called the bitsy minnow, I prefer the tiger fire version. It’s great because when bass aren’t biting I can entice smaller fish like perch, sunfish and rock bass and for some reason catching them on a lure is so much more fun then using a bobber setup
It’s perfect for that water!! Great job! It’s hard to find baits that cast well and fish well in shallow small water like that! I love small water fishing!!
This makes me wanna get my shallow spool out and do a little BFS. Of course i don't have a sweet lure as you're nanodiver but got some nice small cranks. Thanks for sharing.
When you were showing how you make plot put the lip hole all I saw was a puffer fish. Like an aquarium puffer fish. That's a perfect body design for that paint scheme
Hey Mr. Baits, I think I speak for all of us trout fishermen when I say that it would be super cool if you made a life sized sculpin lure, since we’re doing the “average sized baits” I think it would be right in track.
This inspires me to try making my own baits… I would love to see a vid where you don’t use power tools but more of what I’d start with like sandpaper and carving knife only type deal just to see the possibility’s with simple tools
It's nice seeing something that small with the amazing craftsmanship put into it. I'd love to make something like that to try on the pond rainbow trout around me
23:20 It's not just a theory, all vertebrates release a hormone called cortisol when highly stressed and whether actively or passively most animals have a reaction to detecting it. Research shows that elevated levels of cortisol in the environment make other fish more likely to flee and if a fish itself has elevated cortisol levels in its blood due to a stressful event it is far less likely to be bold enough to leave cover to feed.
Have you and the Epic Bait Mold people ever thought about producing packs of your soft plastics for those of us that don't make them ourselves? I'm sure there's a market out there for them
Did you plant strawberries this year for Chip to steal? I think I like these little lures better than the giant ones. And, I like your attention to detail. Good job!
Long shot May I ask you to try trout fishing with some of your baits or nano baits please my brother. Thank you for the amazing vids you truly one of goats of bait making South Africa
I mean, I think that's pretty average size..
Naw that’s actually
Massive
Your poor wife
We all know it’s not the size that matters, it’s the action
@@caseywood9781 I guess that's why I'm single lmaoo

Incredibly jealous you got to hang out with Matt, he’s one of my favorite artists. That’s kick ass!!
would love to see more small lures. they're usually more effective, and honestly more fun too.
Same here - amazing how many different species you can catch with small lures and the light tackle makes catching them a lot of fun.
Quicker build with more fishing
Smaller is greater

Same dude! I also love fishing tiny baits on ultralight gear, you catch such a variety of fish & even big fish love eating small presentations.
@@-dystopic-Yeah, the bait is not too big for a lot of the fish making it very good
@@ConstipationOverload yeah 100%!
Microbaits are awesome
bro Matt Heckler!!!!!! Awesome musician and singer!
Love this small bait series, mini buzz bait next?
love your work . i would love to see you do some 3d printed baits vs your hand made baits
I was just wondering myself why he didn't have a 3D printer already. Although I do like watching them carve everything by hand as well. There's a bit of a learning curve when it comes to zbrush sculpting

Great job! You should try and do underwater footage when testing in the test tank with your go pro!
That’s a good idea!
Im either going fishing tonight or tomorrow morning. I would love one of your wooden baits.
What are you chasing? I went fishing here in South East Australia yesterday & had a sick session! It was so fucking cold though ‘cause it’s the middle of winter here haha.
Awesome video as usual! The two nano lures have been a treat! Next one.. nano spook/walk the dog?
Ol boy with them suspenders is a hell of a musician!!

I believe that the ability to create a bait that is nano however performs perfectly is quite an achievement, and man you achieve a lot!
One day!!!! Always love that. It startles my dogs if I turn my surround speakers on. 😂😂
Fishing with Matt Heckler! Very cool to see him in one of your videos
I cant stop watching your one day vids, perfecto, masterfully done in such short time
Now you need to do a nano -jointed something.
If you want a super smooth clear coat, you might want to look at Loon UV Flow or something similar. We use it a lot in fly tying and i thing that would make the process a lot easier as it's much thinner.
When he came in I was like Matt heckler!???!?? So jealous !!! One of my favs ❤
Oh yeah keep up the great work !! 😂
Love the blue color scheme! The monochromatic style really looks spiffy.

WTH! Matt Heckler! Awesome
Just wanna say I started tying my own jigs a little over a year ago, nothing more satisfying than catching something on a lure you made yourself!
Cool to see Matt Heckler on here!
The shoe adjusting 🙏🏻 just how awesome and uncut your videos are. Just shows the reality of everything
Majestic Chip always stealing the show lol. Love your videos and baits!
My favorite lures are small lures because I catch more fish on small lures than large lures.
And yes, I catch BIG fish on small lures!

Thank you and I absolutely love the channel I never miss a video!
I 100% agree with you! Fishing small baits on ultralight gear is so much more fun than fishing bigger lures on heavy gear.
Genuinely, I LOVE nano baits
My favourite lure is a tiny neutral buoyancy diving lure by Strike King, it’s called the bitsy minnow, I prefer the tiger fire version. Love the bitsy Minnow, I think I’ve caught more fish on that thing than any other lure.
Might be one of my favorite color schemes you’ve done on a lure! Very cool little bait
Awesome! Found these yesterday, and it has already made my week better!
It’s perfect for that water!! Great job! It’s hard to find baits that cast well and fish well in shallow small water like that! I love small water fishing!!
4:36 The bait has a cute little smiley face.
Bro loving the consistency right now keep dropping these ONE ☝🏾 DAYS!! 😂😂❤
Awesome, beautiful paint job. Love the slo mo releases! Thanks for the content!
I saw Jason O'dea in Detroit with Lost Dog Street Band and it was the best show I've ever seen.
Hey Nate.
I’m not sure if you made this vid due to my request, but thanks heaps, it was great to watch/see.
Take care. Al.
Time to bust out the winter baits! I'd love to see how the giant roadrunner works in summer...
You have effectively made a size 50, Luhr Jensen Hot Shot. Nice work 👍
Dude you met Matt Heckler to go fishing 😮 that’s a good trip!
I like the nano stuff. It's a lot of fun on a small rod setup. Cheers.
I go back and watch you other videos so when u post a new one it throws me off 😂 I'm liking this nano series so far
This makes me wanna get my shallow spool out and do a little BFS.
Of course i don't have a sweet lure as you're nanodiver but got some nice small cranks.
Thanks for sharing.
Yessir! New marling videos get me hyped. Can’t wait to see what you catch on it.
always nice to watch a Marling baits video
Good Job on that bait .
When you were showing how you make plot put the lip hole all I saw was a puffer fish. Like an aquarium puffer fish. That's a perfect body design for that paint scheme
Very nice. Cool bait. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
The deep diving nano lure turned out to be a little shallow diving nano lure. That’s a perfect lure sir well done once again

Ultralight fishing is so fun. Just because youre always catching. Sunfish and bluegills are so fast and agressive. Nice 1 day

Yey. Wasnt expecting this and got to enjoy it even more. Thanks nate
I have seen watching you for years😊😊
Ahhh Spindrift Grapefruit!!! Refreshing in the heat!!! :)
I am enjoying these small nano lures, next you gotta do a nano squarebill. 😂😂
Ever thought about taking one of your micro baits and size them up to a large bait? It would be silly, but fun to watch 😂
Nice lure 👍🏻. Should make one where the lip is twice as long as the body.
I am loving that color scheme 👍👍
Nano thermal bait would be a challenging project. Cowabunga.!
I've always enjoy your mini lure series, 2 mini lures video in a row? What a treat :)
I've been watching all the vids and the beautiful paint jobs on the luresade my brain want a cosmic style paint job. That'd be a cool vid!! And lure!!

17 seconds in and I just wanna say…. Chip is the man!!!! Hhhhhhoooooonnnnnnneeeeeee dayyyyy
It did pretty good, paint job was cool too, good video man!!
Pretty neat to see folks that I like listening to in one of your videos. How many more collaborations do you have planned this year?

What’s a Shield-Backed Katydid?
@@-dystopic- it's one weird looking cricket
The one from Namibia to be more specific

That bait has a great action. The paint job is on point as always. Nice
You should try and make a dragonfly lure, I made my own a day or 2 ago but it’s to light so I’m gonna have to make some more
It would be sweet to see another “no power tools” one day! that’s a challenge!
This is the cutest thing lol. Love it.
Thanks for these videos, again. They truly make my week and it's been an absolute shit week! Haha ❤️❤️❤️
