- Filmed on 23/01/2024. So, here we go for another year on the railways for what could be a surprising year to come ahead. Kicking off the year with the first of two stations of the day which see's frequent planes landing at Manchester Airport. This is Stockport (Season 11 Episode 1)
Storm Jocelyn has been battering the UK hard all this week with very strong winds and rain. But, this did cause quite a lot of train delays running in and out of Manchester. All West Coast Mainline services had major issues as due to a fatality which occurred earlier in the day. All thoughts and prayers are for those involved in the fatality. And to top it all off, there has been a points failure which lead to trains having to by pass Stockport to run non stop to Wilmslow.
Ex DRS (Direct Rail Services) class 37 no. 37612 has been out and about on crew training/route learning. This class 37 was sold in 2017 and can be seen on loan to Colas Rail for route learning/training. Even at the age of nearly 60 years old, they are still performing very strong. Freightliner also made a show with the 'bin train' heading for Runcorn and empty intermodal waggons running from Crewe which could be used for crew training.

Nothing ever wrong with Stockport station sir, in fact this might be a controversial opinion, I prefer Stockport to Piccadilly

Its a great station Stockport is. Well, that could be controversial between these two stations. But, Stockport can see some epic low flying planes landing at Manchester Airport and in a way, get to see more in variety as well :-)
