Trains at Lancaster - 20/02/2024

Filmed on 20/02/2024. So, this will be the second and final station before we venture off to The Lake District for a lovely few hours at one of the towns with the biggest lake of 10 miles long. There wasn't any freight here last year but this time, for a rare double header in this case. This is Lancaster (Season 11 Episode 4)
Before the heavens opened up, we got down to business of filming for 90 minutes at Lancaster and even for some good mixed variety. The oldies but goldies of the good old class 156's are still performing strongly for Northern with trains along the Cumbrian Coast Line via Barrow-In-Furness through to Carlisle. There are more class 156's on offer to Northern which might be lead to believe Northern could take them on.
Oddly for Transpennine Express and to work alongside the Nova 2 class 397's is there is a daily Nova 1 class 802 working on the West Coast Mainline. Strange as it seems but they do assist to operate and also for what the future will hold for Avanti West Coast with their introduction of their new class 807's in the near future.

Yeah, its not the first time its happened. It's very strange to see them departing from a mainline platform to say the least. Still, makes for a more interesting session :-)
