    Dr Taylor, this made me laugh so much. I've been watching your videos for a couple of weeks now and you have taught me so much. My mother at the age of 56 broke her leg and after that her joints deteriorated and her quality of life went downhill. At 72 when she died, she looked like a 95 year old; her feet shuffling slowly behind a zimmer frame with bones like a china doll. I had no idea that osteoporosis was connected to loss of estrogen. I used to think that osteoporosis was just down to bad genes and there was nothing I could do. Recently I've started having hot flashes and night sweats and as awful as they are this is what's made me start researching the menopause, the symptoms have been a 'a shot across the bow,' so to speak. I've made an appointment to see my doctor as I plan to take whatever steps necessary to preserve my bone health. I'm so lucky to have found your channel. I just can't thank you enough for making these videos, you're an amazing teacher, an angel and so entertaining to watch. God bless you.

      WAIT!!
      BEOFRE you see your doctor, schedule a consultation with me. There is so much more to this than you can possibly know from a few of my videos.
      In a consultation, I will tell you exactly what to say and exactly what NOT to say when you meet with your doctor. You have to know precisely HOW to go about getting what you want. That's what my consultations are for.
      I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing your menopause your way. So, here's how a consultation works:
      1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you. I do consultations on Skype, FaceTime. Facebook Messenger, What’s App, and the phone.
      2) I would send you an email to confirm that you are scheduled for the stated time, and invite you to send me as much information about yourself as you please. You can make it brimming with details and tell me about your reproductive life, any gynecologic problems you've had, your symptoms of peri-menopause, and your symptoms of post-menopause. You can include all your fears, concerns, and goals for your menopause management. You may also send me any labs, mammogram results, bone density results, etc. that you would like me to include in designing your protocol. For instance, if you want to adhere to a certain category of management options (herbs or diet & lifestyle, or whatever), you should tell me that. I will give you a deadline for sending all materials, and will not accept anything after that date.
      3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives you all the education you need to understand absolutely everything, points out the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to YOU, using the information you have provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are over 30 pages.
      4) I will send you the document by email 48 hours before your consultation. You will benefit greatly by reading it in advance. Light bulbs will go off like crazy, and if you're like most women, you'll feel that you've already gotten your money's worth.
      5) During your consultation, we will review the document and address any issues you want in order to fine tune everything and determine your best options. I'll tell you exactly how to find the right kind of professional, how to have the conversation in order to get what you want, and the nuances of things like guidelines and insurance. I leave nothing unaddressed.
      6) You will go to a professional of your choosing in order to get the actual hormones or whatever you choose to use.
      7) After the first consultation, I'll hold your hand (forever if you want me to). In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (15-minute or 30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to. I'll keep records of your situation. Most women schedule mini-consultation whenever they go to the doctor and don't understand what he or she said, or why. I translate. I make sense of everything. Most schedule mini-consultation whenever they have a new test and they want me to explain the results. And all schedule mini-consultation whenever their situation changes and they need to re-weigh and re-balance their options.
      The time you spend with me will make everything about working with any other professional so easy. And they will love the fact that you have an actual education rather than a bunch of misconceptions that you got from the Internet. If your initial hormone regimen is not right, you'll want to consult with me before going to your doctor. I can prepare you for what to expect and what to request.
      So, that's my role. And nobody else on earth does this kind of thing but me. So, I hope you schedule a consultation and let me hold your hand (figuratively).
      I hope to meet you soon!

      Each video builds on the last. It's just like school: You had to learn the alphabet before you could read. And nowadays, there are so many overwhelming misconceptions that women mistake as facts ... that you just don't know what you don't know.
      I respond to all comments here on RUclips daily. So, I will answer all your questions ... but I'll also know if you aren't watching the videos in order. (I'm like your mother. I have eyes in the back of my head!)
      And if you need me to help you tailor anything to your personal situation, you can schedule a one-on-one consultation at MenopauseTaylor.ME any time.

He's almost 58yo and curious about what tostostrone does in men around his age. I didn't want to spend the next hour finding the perfect article so I sent him this video. I told him to please appreciate the humor and take the information seriously. This video is so funny and helpful all at.the same time. You certainly have a way of presenting information. He thanked me without sharing any sort of opinion. Although I showed this to him once before I don't think he was expecting me to use it to help him understand what he asked me but it works. Now I wonder if I can ever use any squirt gun like to correct a kitty without laughing hysterically. I'm ok with that. Thank you.

    Dear Dr. Taylor, what's your opinion on Tibolone? I know it's not used in the US, but still I'd like your take on it. I sent you a direct message some weeks ago, but I don't think you saw it. Thank you!

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  7 лет назад

      Hi Simone. Sorry I didn't see or receive your previous message. Tibolone is a SERM. I presented them in video tutorials 34 & 35. Tibolone is not very popular simply because it's not FDA-spproved in the U.S. But some women really love the benefits of Tibolone. Watch videos 34 & 35, and you'll see that each SERM has specific advantages and disadvantages. I think the whole goal with managing your menopause is to find options that are best for you, specifically. You want to find the option that has the most benefits FOR YOU and the fewest risks FOR YOU. Since no two women are alike with regard to either physical conditions or preferences, you get to tailor everything to your own needs.

    What about sleep disturbances during menopause/male menopause

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  3 года назад

      Declining hormones cause sleep disturbances long before hormone levels get to zero. Males never lose all their testosterone, which is why sleep disturbances are so much more common in women.

      @@boplop5406 I have not gotten to the unit on insomnia, yet.
      But it is a myth that "progesterone helps you sleep at night." Instead, it makes you feel dopey and drowsy all day AND all night. Some women can hardly wake up in the morning.
      Insomnia is a symptom of estrogen deficiency. Estrogen will make you sleep like a baby at night and wake up perky and fresh in the morning.
      So, estrogen will make you sleep like a baby, while progesterone will make you sleep like a zombie.

    My husband is 64 with very little testosterone. He has secondary polycythemia so his hematologist won’t let him take testosterone because it raises his hemoglobin and hematocrits too high. He gets a phlebotomy when it gets too high. He has no sex drive and can’t lose his huge belly. So what’s a guy to do?

    Men at middle age or over 55 To avoid heart attack, Alzheimer's or Stroke ,must take a hormone replacement?

    • @MenopauseTaylor

      Men do not ever lose all their testosterone. That is why they do not have menopause. Their risk of heart attack is not due to loss of a hormone, like it is for women.

    Dr Taylor I have learned so much from you and appreciate your knowledge! However I was hoping for some real information on testosterone therapy (or if it’s even an option) for aging men. I remember when I was going through IVF, our fertility Dr told my husband he was extremely low testosterone, but nothing ever came of that. Now he’s 44 and feeling a lot worse about himself. Is testosterone an option for someone like him? While I appreciate all the humor, I was hoping for more education other than, sorry honey you’re going to get fat, old, your penis will shrink, and there’s nothing you can do about it.
