Dear Dr Renee I just discovered you after hearing you on Talk Radio. I know i am responding to a presentation made 4 years ago, but the facts have not changed, other than it is virtually impossible to see an NHS gp. I am so glad you had raised this subject as it is stigmatised by both ignorant men and women. Yet men are expected to be knowledgeable about the womans menopause. I discovered i had the on set of this condition about 20 years ago, i am 61 now. I did a hell of a lot of research into this subject but initially got no help from my gp, many gps were not taught about it in medical school back then or inccur any expenses which they would have to justify to then pct. Some gps i found were patronising and just fob you off. This is quite a sensitive subject to me and i take issue with your comment on the size of ones size if their genetalia and i have never taken steriods to look like mr universe. Unfortunately i hadmumps at 7 yrs and then was given the mumps vaccination a little later, so that stuffed up my gonads, size 2, on a orchidometer. It is the sword of Damaclise to show a woman two peas and a chipolata . To cut a long story short, after going private, i managed to get my gp to get tested on the NHS and there are a few tests that need to be done, some which only will be done privately, like at the TDL. I am now on Testogel/ Androgel and things have improved It is no wonder drug and too much testosterone converts into Estrodial, Beta17, which is an Estrogen component and too much of this has the same effect as too little testosterone plus you get gystinomya (man boobs). I wish more women have a better understanding with male problems and vice versa. Those reluctant men, not wanting to see their gp only have themselves to blame.
I’m 41 now and I’ve noticed that I’m less sex obsessed than when I was a teenager . I remember those years as a time with a very high libido ,now it’s not so important . In a way I think it’s better as the older we get the less attractive we are , I don’t wanna be one of those old men still obsessed with sex . I imagine my old age like a time of total peace .
Thankyou, you've just made sense to me. I've noticed recently I cannot keep it up! Plus willy shrinkish. I'm 62 and still think I'm 32, still have the passion. Recently I have had both knees replaced, and of course I have been on a shitload of codeine.
I experienced the beginnings of andropause in my early 40s. I was a diabetic for over 21 years and obese. I am in my 50s now and not diabetic but still more emotional than I was in my 30s.
Awesome. I have stopped sleeping, 2 maybe 3 hours if i am lucky. And I get so hot at night I sleep outside of the bed covers, even when it's freezing outside.
I just turned 40 heard this stat that my T has been decreasing since 30. I should mention I look in the late 20s range. I got tested and it's still high so I wouldn't worry. I'm a tall lanky ectomorph too who isn't that harry. I didn't strength train unless you count push ups. I didn't pay enough protein in my 30s but I eat meat with every meal, like having at least a tall glass of milk a day, and love tinned fish so I might have lucked out.who isn't that harry so I thought my T might be low. So I thought my T might be low. Balding can come from too much or too little testosterone (or have nothing to do with it). I buzz my head but still have my hair luckily. You should still produce testosterone at 40 (more actually) but the problem is less "free" testosterone (the useful kind). Strength training, enjoying life, accomplishing non-work goals, supplements, and a good gf increase testosterone and more importantly release the trapped testosterone. I'm neurotic and in a high impact sport so I decided to be proactive and here's what I take to either increase testosterone release trapped testosterone, or just balance my hormones: Boron, Tonkat Ali Zinc Vitamin D (if you're deficient) + take Vitamin K2 (Vitamin D absorbs calcium and K2- MK7 formula directs the absorbed calcium to your bones instead of your soft tissue (heart, kidney stones, etc) Magnesium Creatine Omega 3 Fish Oils Multivitamin for men Amino Acids that help with protein Ashwaghanda C0q10 & a bunch of other herbal ones in a testosterone supplement. Og yeah 5mg of Cialis every 2 weeks for vascular health which leads to the obvious other benefit (erections are always full with increased pleasure, no more semis, no more performance anxiety) The hardest part of maintaining T is eating 150g-200g of protein every day. Sleep Hygiene for sure is easy to let slip if you're busy. Being active is good but you need to strength train which I hate so I ride a bike combined with a chin up bar, push ups, Etc. My younger gf is getting insane with her hands and is will go again and again until I tell her I can't. That on top of a normal sex life keeps me drained and balanced. I haven't gotten re-tested but it seems like I have erections whenever I wake up like when I was a teenager again. I'm looking forward to seeing the results of my next test. Long post but I did my research. If you want to increase testosterone try this method before TRT. Most of the time guys get TRT they already have testosterone in their body they can't access. You wanr FREE testosterone a layer of muscle nothing crazy and strong bone density. What they're talking about in this video won't happen until you're a senior citizen.
I had to have hormone therapy treatment for my prostate cancer from 2015 to 2018. As you will know, the treatment is designed to stop generation of testosterone. Needless to say, I had many hot flushes daily. I also had testicular cancer in 1994.
I have been plant-based for 7 years and I have sex every day. I have seen huge positive changes during these last 7 years. I do not supplement at all other than b12 fortified nutritional yeast. The testosterone treatments I took from my md did not help at all. Plant-based did the trick. No oils in my diet either.
Blimey Renee, you just described my husband to a T. Is this something that a GP with no special interest in it can deal with? Would know to look out for? My husband hasn't been near a doctor in years and it will be very hard to get him to go. The last time he went it had been so long since his previous visit the GP stuck a tetanus shot in him whilst he was there and couldn't escape. I do want him to go and see a GP now, because he's been slowing down for a long time and developing symptoms of various things and just loosing interest in stuff. To some extent I've taken the blame thinking it was because I wasn't able to do much and so we were not able to go out and have holidays etc. But I'm starting to think it's not just that. But if I get him there and they don't think about this I doubt I'll get him back again.

I never knew this.,..fascinating. I think both men and women need to know all these things to have a greater understanding.

Have his testosterone levels checked. It's quick and easy. Just a blood sample. A GP can do this.
fantastic information thank you.
